I'm planning on getting a nice, big tattoo of pluto and its heart, and the new horizon probe doing a wee fly-by, so I could have asked you to rate it, but I haven't gotten it yet!

Io is such a beautiful moon. I'm confused as to why Io does not have a stronger magnetosphere. It does have one but it is supposedly weak. I always figured from what I've learnt and researched that any object that is geologically active with circulating iron nickel magma would generate a magnetosphere.
Imagine how many precious gems are formed from Io's geological processes. A great place to mine(in areas where volcanos are not expected to erupt of course.)

My guess, Io's magnetosphere is simply in line with Jupiter magnetosphere, like a perfect magnet. So even the core of Io is in sync with the flux tube.
And than the core as magnetic needle swings (vibrates) to the jupiter magnetic lines, and pressure the volcanism on the surface.
But only a guess from me.

Io is definitely an underrated moon. It’s ranked 5 for my “moon list” 1) Our moon (duh) , 2) Titan , 3) Enceladus , 4) Europa , and 5) Io .

I remember viewing Jupiter with my first telescope over 30 years ago and I could plainly see the Gallilean moons. It looked like a solar system and I remember the effect it had on me at that time. My interest in the planets grew so much from that moment on.
Some of the colour photos of Io look like a cheese with mould on the rind.

*Thank you! What an extraordinary video, with EXCEPTIONAL graphics!*
*So here’s a little something ‘creative’ in return, that I thought up just now:*
(Read it in the rhythm of “This little piggy” that you do with little kid’s toes)...
    *”This giant planet is gaseous,
    This OTHER giant has RINGS,
This inner planet has dense CLOUDS,
And THIS little planet looks red...
But THIS big blue marble has WE! WE! WE! WE! living on it, and WE call it HOME!”...*
(Don’t ask me why this silly little poem popped into my head- I was just so impressed with the amount of knowledge you squeezed into this video that you inspired me...) 😎👍🏼

Another amazing and wonderful presentation. All this information on a moon that up until now I have only known about because of it's massive volcanos and it's closeness to Jupiter. This is the second video in your "Moons" series that I have watched and I am eager to continue my education and stretch my sense of wonder.

You can almost see the host smiling as they're talking, in your mind's eye.

What a fantastic RUclips site! The information and visuals are great, and I love the soothing tone of your narration! By the way, not to nitpick, but shouldn't it be " if Jupiter's magnetosphere _were_ visible (not was, since it's not visible)?

first time watching your vids. very nice, learned several new things I had never heard anywhere else regarding Io's interaction with Jupiter and the other moons. will be keeping an eye out for more of your vids. thank the algorithm for recommending this video as I watch Isaac Arthur's -SFIA- and john Michael Godier's -event horizon- regularly. also to echo something I spotted in the comments great job marking what each little clip was showing (real color, enhanced plume, etc.)
