Great purchase. Don't hesitate using it. I have one I've been using for years. It still looks brand new. ZDP-189 has amazing edge retention at the hardness levels they heat treat it to. It will stay razor sharp for a very long time. Toughness not so much. If you start trying to pry staples or something like that, you'll likely chip the edge. As long as you stick to actual knife tasks, it will last you a lifetime.
@@Thetrailbender It's got an HRC of about 67 not to many things you are ever going to cut will be able to scratch it!!! With an HRC that high it will hold it's edge for a very long time but the harder a blade is the easier it can chip/break so like the other Guy mentioned never pry with it or you will snap the blade Also like never wiggle it left to right Just always use it to cut with and it'll last your lifetime Congratulations beautiful piece of functional art!!! :)
Beautiful rockstead!!! They will cut forever/ for a very long time before you ever need it sharpened!!! Very high HRC Also the blue one you were looking at was probably anodized using electricity at a certain voltage There is heat ano also But usually can't get that perfect blue through heat!!! Great choice it's definitely an heirloom and don't be afraid to use it everyday!! :)
Rockstead are something special. If you can get one, get one, you're not paying too much since nobody else does what they do. You might even say they're...a cut above
But they lied....they are not the most expensive knives in the world not even close. For a production knife maybe. But there are custom pockets knives that are considerably much more expensive. They also lied about ZDP-189 being the hardest steel in the world. It is very hard but not the hardest.
@@BillyTheChamp not sure if I said it's one of the most expensive knifes in the world. But it is definitely quality :). What's one of the most expensive brands of pockets Knifes in the world.
Lol how u gonna day u know and collect knives, never heard of rockstead and asked for switch blades in a country with a ban on them, then say I meant pocketknives which u were already looking at
Beautiful knife, Rockstead is top tier 👍
The Polish on those is amazing! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

@@MrCarlbrooks appreciate the comment! I'm happy I got one! Ahhaha nice pun :) 😁
NOOOOOOOO!!! You should take the first Rockstead that you select and not the Rayskinnnnn!!! 😭😭😭😭
Great knife but far, far from being the most expensive knife in the world.
Higo with desert Ironwood, no question what I'd buy, if I had the money.
Their quite pricey but it's worth the investment if it last a lifetime like they say :)

Fun day 💚
How can I buy that watch that you bought or how can I get those watches that you bought
That’s a rockstead and it’s not the most expensive knife in the world not even close to it but almost a Peter knife
not sure how this came on my feed, but rockstead knives are definitely not the most expensive knives in the world. far far from it.

I use a rockstead as my daily carry. Yep blades all scratched. I don’t care. Love it every single time!😊😊
Marketing is all about selling! Ask Richard Mille!
Expensive is relative
@@TheSingaporeSlayer this is very true! Appreciate your comment :)
U want Switch blades I have switch blades

What a gimmick. They must have a good marketing scheme. I hope you didn't get fleeced.
They're not a gimmick. Rockstead makes some of the finest production knives in the world. I have a couple of them, and they're worth every penny.
