Dr. Grandin was one of my professors at CSU. She is an amazing woman and Claire Daines captured her very well. HBO did an excellent job and it is thrilling to watch Dr. Grandin get recognition in the "main stream." Congratulations!

We have had the distinct honor and privilege of knowing Temple and she is as amazing in person (if not more) as she is on this video. Temple is passionate about what she does and is a direct example of what people can do, instead of focusing on what people can't. Congrats Temple on your successes! Enjoy your HBO Party and Emmys.

I was just thinking the same thing. I can only think about how uncomfortable something like this must be for her, with how loud and crowded it is (from the looks of it).

Finished watching this movie tonight. It's an amazing true life story that touched me so much. Left a happy tear at the end.
The different topics, from autism, anxiety, animal behavior and ethical treatment of animals for food consumption are intriguing. I'm drawn to this story in so many ways.

I saw her at the most recent Duke graduation. She recieved the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters. Was a shame she didn't do any talking during the ceremony, but it piqued my interest in her. I read the book (it was amazing and insightful) and I was thrilled when I learned that HBO had also made it into a movie (a great one at that).
She is a great and inspiring woman who deserves nothing less than the exaltation and acolades heaped upon her. Godspeed Temple Grandin.

Hi Dr. Grandin. What a thrill it was to see your movie win so many awards tonight! I recently got to see it on HBO and watched it several times, every time I could catch it. It was so moving, educational, and touching. I am a Special Education teacher and your contribution to the field of Autism is astounding. You are an inspiration to all of us. Thank you for sharing your life with the world! I hope our paths cross one day.

@brubry12 She was never diagnosed with AS because the diagnosis didn't exist when she was a child, but I agree, I think she may have a more severe form of Asperger's Syndrome.
She is a lot like me. I can't wait to see the movie.

@boisenewbie she stated in a couple of her interviews that she has been on antidepressants since she has been teaching at Colorado State University. Not the sole reason, but it does "even you out" so to speak, so that kind of thing won't be so difficult. Amazing woman, and an amazing movie! I am sincerely glad that she approved of the way to movie was done!

@boisenewbie It's probably not as loud as it seems. Camera's and microphones pick up so much more than our ears usually do. How many times have you taped a home movie and then gone to play it back and you cringed at how loud the T.V. in the background was but you didn't notice it at all while you were filming it? It's probably kinda like that. :-)

@999JPETZ and hopefully inspire other people to try to be great as well. It seems to me too many people just waste their lifes in front of the t.v without caring about anything important. I love Temple Grandin! I too am interested in making the world a better place. I feel like the American food industry is in a crisis. "Watch Food Inc." and "Corn King" Not to mention Dr.s aren't even taught nutirion! Our bodies require certain things to keep us healthy so why wouldnt a Dr. be taught that?
