The new testament sheds light on the old testament, including the fulfillment of OT prophecies concerning Israel. Therefore, all the OT promises made to Israel have been fulfilled in the Lord Jesus, who is the promised seed of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3 & Galatians 3:16-18).
The nation of Israel that existed during the old testament era and at the time of Christ’s first coming fulfilled its purpose of bringing the promised Messiah to all the nations and is no longer a part of God’s plan of redemption for mankind, nor ever will be again. Modern day Israel is not the same as Biblical Israel, but rather a politically created nation by the U.N since 1948 and is not a fulfillment of any Bible prophecy. Jesus foretold of the destruction of Jerusalem in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21.
