@@StephanieCanada on this note - I was going to applaud how uncluttered you walls were in the area where you were laying out the pattern - then you walked into the REAL room us resellers know all too much about! love it!
I live in a 1950’s house. And four people live here with only one bathroom. We don’t have floor space to cut out a pattern. So when I see you clean up and toss stuff under the tripod, my heart leaps with joy.
I love everything about this video! My husband has agreed to let me make something for him twice (he hates to be measured) and I thought sewing for me was hard with all my alterations. He has a chest of 56" and the only pattern I have ever found large enough for his body is a PDF bowling shirt pattern (which is a fabulous pattern). I found some electric scissors and electric rotary cutter at an auction last year and they have been a lifesaver when cutting fabric. I love watching the Closet Historian also! The shirt turned out awesome, and I love what a great sport your husband is. I totally think we should bring this beachwear back.
I think Hubby chose well. It looks cool and breezy. But, Stephanie, I do need to call you to task: those are wholly inadequate pockets. He could hardly get his hands into them. Remember the golden rule: Give others the pockets you would have for yourself. 😉😘😄
I went to the beach with some visiting friends... I carry a parasol, wearing long linen pants, and a long sleeve linen shirt. My feet were bare but I don’t burn 🔥 I burst into flames in the sun. We didn’t make it to the coast because I live in the middle of central Florida... 2 hours each direction to a coast, but we found a beautiful beach on the lake 10 minutes away. I have a parasol for my husband’s car and one to have on me because 🐍 the sun it 🥵
1) Mr. Northcountry is adorable/hilarious and I can see why you picked him 2) factory folded! 38-40! Thaaaat's a member of the House of Canada, all right
Oh my god my sides hurt from laughing so hard! The shirt turned out super cool, even if it's a little big, but that's a fix for another day! I was cackling at the intro and his reaction to some of those patterns! Good on him for taking an interest in your job though, that's super neat! Also, I maaay have scared the cat out of the room when I saw your sewing room and went "AHA FELLOW FLOOR GREMLIN!! VALIDATIOOOON!!!" at the top of my lungs!
I would like to say that I’m interested in all the things she does. But some of them I just don’t understand. None of my spaces (not that I have any) have floor gremlins. 😂
YEET THE CHEAP SHEARS I was rolling LMAOOOO. You're so dang delightful. Also dear Ned, I relate to the German-Ness and sweating. except I live in WA so thank GOODNESS the sweating moments don't come as often.
That was great!!! You two are wonderful together!!! I know you work in theatre, does he too? My son and daughter-in-law did community theatre, he asked her to marry him on stage. They got married in that theatre. She had 3 children back then and they now have 4 and they don't have time to do the community theatre anymore. You two remind me of how they get along.
This... This is why I'm taking some time off of trying to sew clothing for me. And rearrange the living room. Because the fabric piles kind of interfere with movie night (I'm open to suggestions... oye). The struggle. She is real. Also a reason to take time off from sewing? Fishing the river behind Parliament Hill. That being said, I happen to be working on a project for turning a 1700's tie-on pocket into a Fishing Pocket. Got to get the minimal fishing gear, coffee thermos tuna sandwich, minimal water-colour and sketch kit down to the shore. In style. So. Fishing somehow turns into sewing. Yeah... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown
Too cute! Your husband is a gem to help you with this. That terry cloth looked like it was delightful to sew! (Insert extreme amounts of sarcasm here.)
Thank you so much! And he joked about doing a matching set (and I am tempted to have him make mine and me make his). But the jury is still out for that.
Great job! This is hilarious! I really enjoyed every bit. Upsizing a pattern like that is deceptively difficult, and sewing terry cloth is tricky (and messy!). Loved the Morticia Adams beachwear at the end!
