Yes, the comparison is a little unfair because of the age of the Korg, but not entirely unfair, since the Korg is still for sale. The amazing thing is that they both sound so good. But it's nice to know what you're getting and not getting when it comes time to put your cash on the table. Also, public reviews like this can sometimes nudge companies into upping their game. Thanks for the video!
Completely fair considering this is what Korg and Yamaha both offer in this price segment today. You choose between the options offered at the time. Korg and Yamaha will not adjust the cadence of releases to 'be fair' to each other.
Hello Jeremy Nice review, I’m retired from over 55 years of playing. I converted to arranger keyboards in 1994 and haven’t looked back Although korg , Roland ,Yamaha have their strength and weakness. Picking just one to use on stage can be very frustrating. I was very blessed to be able to afford both the Yamaha and korg on stage for over 15 years with great successBoth work very well together which solved my problem Of which would be best to use. I recently added a Roland bk3 ( I had all the Roland arrangers) I got a great deal on, to my rig setup. As of now I’m very happy with my setup. Choosing one keyboard to use would be difficult but most musicians make due with one. Again I’m very blessed. Thanks
Excellent comparison Jeremy. I feel the Yamaha PSR - SX 600 has really good and well programmed styles. The built in audio interface and mic input ports found on the Yamaha PSR - SX 600 are also a great advantage. So, it is quite unbeatable for under $1000.
Hello, I'm new with the sx 600, do you know why it would be better to connect the micro to the keyboard rather than a pc after ? Is it mainly for live production ?
Yes.... But korg is good in its own ways also.... Korg features more realistic voices, touch display, three layer voices and joy sticks.... In India these keybaords are really cheap.... For psr sx600 is only 680 dollars
Not to mention that the Pa300 is still using alot of the same sounds as my Pa500 from the late 2000s! Edit: the Euro Trance style sounds EXACTLY the same!
Hi Jeremy Bro. iam from India. your regular viewer and great fan. iam using PSR295 even till 2020. i love both the keyboards they may have pros and cons but when comparing my psr 295 they make me to feel like im in a heaven
I have the Korg pa300 !! Korg's output is so rich with on stage speakers . Its a Bass beast !! But i have to agree that Yamaha did a great job with styles ..
Hi, I have the PA300...the game changer for me was the onboard mp3 player, and you can play along to professional backing tracks to your heart's content, for leisure of course. It was actually retailing for $700+ (still is), got it at $600+ with online retail discount coupons, so with its specs at this price point, probably made sense over the EK50, Yamaha EW series & the complicated Casio CTX series. Just my two cents.
A very useful comparison. I have long been in doubt about which of his keyboards to choose. I preferred the Yamaha but at the same time I had a Yamaha PSR SQ16, a Yamaha 131 upright piano and an Arius electric piano. I was tempted to try a different brand instrument but your reviews and this comparison pushed me again towards Yamaha. Ordered with Black Friday at € 665 (I'm Italian), I get it on Monday. I'm eager to get my hands on it. Your reviews are great. Thanks.
How do you record piano sound.plz make a video on this,What things should we need to record quality sound.plz reply sir.....expecting a reply from you plz
Nice comparison Both sound great. To my knowledge The yamaha sounds more real the guitar i heard finger slides while the korg i didnt hear any. and the piano and saxaphone were best on the yamaha. korg still sounds ok in itls own way. I enjoyed the comparison video.
Listening to the opening song with eyes closed and it brings me to a super classy concert hall. 😍 Amazing to see how you make affordable gears sound great.
@@JeremySee I think it will all be blurry images if I take using a disposable camera. Haha. But totally agree with you. It is all about the experience!
I think progress with these instruments has slowed down. Instruments 5 to 10 years old still hold up surprisingly well. I am still happy with my 8yo Roland BK-5. The screen looks old and small, but other than that it still sounds and feels up to date.

Recently, I acquired a Korg PA 300, and I also have two Yamahas, I consider that both offer extraordinary performance, however the Korg has better bass sounds, and very good string and synth sound banks, while the Yamaha has very good piano sounds.
Dammmmit. I just bought the Yamaha sx700 instead of Korg. I would have liked to have better synth/electric/etc, with one standard really awesome piano.
One of my music friends has the Korg 300, he lets me play it from time to time. Fantastic board but it's now 8 years old and overdue for updates and modifications. Needs a second pedal input, some of the instrument sounds and backing styles need updating, as some of them now sound a bit dated and obviously "electronic". A few other nice moves would be to have the display screen tilt up a bit, maybe 15 degrees for easier viewer, a second keyboard split point would be great, and definitely some topside control knobs for on-the-fly/live control of the 4 sound layers. Basic functions like volume and a few popular DSP effects. Even though the Korg requires less button pushing than other brands, it's still difficult to make adjustments in the middle of the song. Hopefully Korg updates their PA series boards soon or Yamaha will completely overtake this category. And thanks for the review, Jeremy!
Nice video. One should also consider the default effects and possible turn them off which instantly make many keyboard sounds sound super dry or make it the same effect as far as possible. Dont know about these keyboards. It seems not much progress is made during a decade. Much of what these do did my GeneralMusic arranger (WX2) too in the 90's and more (aftertouch?). Hope HQ instrument samples will be finally the standard. Whats the size in MB's of these? Also Korg STILL refuses to add usb audio to their entry and mid range which is ridiculous. Many also still like to think aftertouch is something special. It aint. Time for those manufacturers to wake up before its too late. Artificial limitations are a nogo these day and age.
Once again, an interesting comparison. I have a PA300 languishing unused which I wish to sell as it's no comparison to my Yamaha PSR-SX900, a totally different class of instrument (and I can never find time to play that!). But I was never happy with the Korg, and this demo reveals why in this more valid comparison. Some people generally prefer the Korg-type sounds, but for me, as heard here, on average Yamaha voices are more realistic (for example consider the guitar and sax voices here) and the styles more polished. However, for its day, the Korg had much to commend it and I suspect there may be a few who prefer it. For me, the Yamaha wins, but you hint at a forthcoming look at a more recent Korg, which just may change things significantly. I look forward to that (but suspect Yamaha will still be the winner, but by a smaller margin - it will be interesting to find out!).
I support the korg pa300 more than the yamaha psr sx600 ........ 1. The korg pa300 was released on 2014 While yamaha was released on 2020 2. The korg has better sound quality and a 5 inch tft touch screen display 3. The korg pa300 has styles and sounds taken from it's older brother korg pa600
The Korg Pa-300 is equipped with much more complex and sophisticated features, even if it is a much older edition. The SX600 has more elaborate styles and sounds better after you buy it. I had a Korg Pa-300, I didn’t like the keys, the knobs and the output. I haven't tried the PSR-SX600 yet, it could have a bigger display and buttons next to it (say like the Pa80).
Well, I am listening to the comparison by Jeremy who IMO is the gold standard for arranger reviewers. Some of the dueling sounds are a toss up but when Jeremy gets to the concert guitar comparison at 9:30, the Korg sounds like a toy compared to the Yamaha,. Now, Yamaha may pull psycho acoustic tricks and use effects to better advantage as some have noted here but they also sometimes appear to have superior samples, at least to my ears. That being said, it is kind of miraculous that the Korg technology, at 7 years old still hangs in there to a degree with things like a touch screen, etc.. Bottom line- I prefer the Yamaha sound wise. After all, these are basically rompler instruments with little or no ability to create novel sounds, so you better be satisfied with the onboard offerings.
Korg is the Best of Best Only know Those who used both keyboards in Live Performance I bought Korg PA 700 as my Life Time Performance Keyboard after usage of all Available Arranger Workstations in India I Love Korg 700 What a Piece of Art❤
If you are on tight budget, Korg Ek50L is probably better than PA300, although less features, some of the styles and sound set are more contemporary. Choose Yamaha if you want more natural acoustic sounds and styles such as piano, guitar and typical live cover band sound. Korg tends to sound synthetic and thick but still ok. Like wearing make-up. More for heavily produced pop music.
Great videos as always Jeremy, I just bought a Casio CDP-S100 second hand and love it. Only setback is it didn't come with a sheet music stand. Come to find out, the replacement stand is $175.00!!!! That's over a third the price of the whole Piano!!!!
That's how things are 2nd hand. You can get sheet music rest that violinists etc use.. it's just a few dollars and you can use for many other instruments you plays.
I've hear and comparing a lot of demo's about the styles(not the sounds) between KORG & YAMAHA , generally the Yamaha has a sweet, nice and swinging rhythm, that's the most noticeable I can say. The sound samples of both keywords are equal. It's like cooking, with the same ingredients, but the different is the chef🍜 if you understand what I mean.
Personally I like Yamaha, reason being, it's easy to use. Korg is complicated. Also Korg's keys feel awkward, it's like they are loose / broken while Yamaha's feels better and intact. My next buy is Yamaha SX700/ 900.
This was a fun comparison. I really liked the piano, sax, and guitar on the Yamaha. Really great guitar sound. I liked the organ, strings, and styles on the Korg. I prefer the separate pitch bend and modulation wheels on the Yamaha rather than the little joystick on the Korg. I like the connectivity options on the Yamaha. Another great review :) Great playing ...
@@JeremySee would love to hear more about the Korg internal politics. decades ago I interviewed for them as a product specialist when the m1 came out, and I had a friend who got pretty high up in that company afterward.
It seems like Yamaha has weighted and sweeter voices than Korg. As Entry Level Keyboards, Both of them are successful and buyer must choose the options as his requirement.

okay i cant help but love the quality of sound in the Yamaha, everything sounds so clean and well mastered, although im still leaning on the Korg Pa 300, the keybed also looks smoother than that of the PSR, amazing video

Sir ,Your explanation is marvelous, Fantastic,Super.Sir can u please tell me that Yamaha sx 600 has touch screen. Can we control it without buttons by using touch
Comparison is good but this instrument was introduced by Korg in 2014 .After 5 years only yamaha introduced touch screen arranger keyboards. Comparing 2014's korg to 2020's yamaha is of no use I think.
Thank you for this Video... I have to say... Yamaha sounds are more "detailed"... Korg still good, but ti does sound a little "Dated"... But anyway is all a matter of what you like the best!
The piano sound of yamaha is realistic then korg(in general) and korg is using an old program but yamaha it's screen make you navigate in the instrument so I like all yamaha keyboard and go check the yamaha GENOS and YAMAHA PSR A5000
Having used my yamaha psr e453 for 4yrs already as my starting keyboard, im contemplating to buy a new kb to get a model with upgraded functionality. These 2 are my options due to budget limitations, both are arranger, and their ability to create styles. Thanks for the review and honest and constructive criticism. Hope you could add some points checklist as a summary next time. Love all your contents. From Philippines, power on!
I’m a blind musician. Need to replace a worn out PSR 910. Want a sequencer and buttons instead of a touch screen. Would like aftertouch if it doesn’t add too much to the price. Can you recommend something?

Can you please give a good advise. Thank You!
Jeremy, could you suggest electronic keyboard for Trinity grade 6 and above? Specifications are very confusing. A video will be very helpful. Thank you!
Hi Jeremy, could you please speak about the keyboard’s action at the beginning of your reviews? It is most important and yaou used to do that, but not anymore. Thanks!
Hi Jeremy I'm sridar from India I do love your unbiased reviews on arranger keyboards my question is the way we have 4 instrument selection in one style for playing in korg pa700 is it available on pa300 also and please recommend which one to buy which one of the arranger key either Yamaha psrSX Or korg0a300
Hi Jeremy, does psr sx600 can play piano vst to inbuilt speaker through usb cable ? I mean like p125 that has ability to play vst to inbuilt speaker. Thank you
This is actually a hard choice for me. I like the Korg's customizability and three upper voice but the new Yamaha has better sounding voices, audio interface and line out. I hope Korg releases and updated version of the Pa300 soon.
You didn't really understand the basic idea. A few years ago, yamaha was still trying to catch up with models like: s670, s770, etc., which would compete with the masters pa300, pa600 and pa900 etc. But it didn't work out well, because korg sold models for all pockets, with samplers, large memories and big color touchscreens. The battle between the two brands was fought between the PA # X and Tyros models, but Yamaha took another ace up its sleeve, that is with the Genos model, replacing the next Tyros but without much success. Korg also has real success with the PA4X model. I think Yamaha is great in other instrument development departments, such as saxophones, violins, and so on. The new Yamaha models (sx700 / sx900) can't even compete against the pa600 / pa900. What about the new, very advanced models: pa700 and pa1000 from korg. All I have to say is "Yamaha is far behind"
Interesting perspective. I don't know Korg products very well, once tried them out vs CLP, when looking for a piano. But in the digital piano range it was more Kawai vs Yamaha (and maybe Roland), especially regarding the haptically satisfying connection with the tone. Based on this video, I would say the Korg keyboard shows its age soundwise and the UI looks cleaner on the Yamaha, although it has no touchscreen. Really would like to know how you rate the PA1000 vs SX900. What are the functions/sound/work flow where Korg has the edge? I really am asking, because I am looking for an arranger to make backing tracks and do not know much about this product category. Cheers
Yamaha psr sx600, is the Berry good keyboard and the Great Sound Quality. The First ever ever, important, Fantastic, Smart, ineel génération of reports from Yamaha. I love this Keyboard contains many many Sounds and the new Super articulación Technology, and incredible realismo other Styles. Blessing from Guatemala

Choose Yamaha if you want more natural acoustic sounds and styles such as piano, guitar and typical live cover band sound. Korg tends to sound synthetic and thick but still ok. Like wearing make-up. More for heavily produced pop music.
Jérémy,you prefere the Korg or the Yamaha ??
Great videos as always Jeremy, I just bought a Casio CDP-S100 second hand and love it. Only setback is it didn't come with a sheet music stand. Come to find out, the replacement stand is $175.00!!!! That's over a third the price of the whole Piano!!!!
That's how things are 2nd hand. You can get sheet music rest that violinists etc use.. it's just a few dollars and you can use for many other instruments you plays.
@@JeremySee Thankyou for the suggestion!
Hi I have the korg pa600 can you advise of getting some good guitar and piano sounds using effects etc or do you have any I can download thanks
Personally I like Yamaha, reason being, it's easy to use. Korg is complicated. Also Korg's keys feel awkward, it's like they are loose / broken while Yamaha's feels better and intact. My next buy is Yamaha SX700/ 900.
Confuse to buy which one is 16layers multiple track recording
This was a fun comparison. I really liked the piano, sax, and guitar on the Yamaha. Really great guitar sound. I liked the organ, strings, and styles on the Korg. I prefer the separate pitch bend and modulation wheels on the Yamaha rather than the little joystick on the Korg. I like the connectivity options on the Yamaha. Another great review :) Great playing ...
Once the arranger division of Korg sort out their "internal politics", we should get a much better upcoming keyboard! 😉
@@JeremySee would love to hear more about the Korg internal politics. decades ago I interviewed for them as a product specialist when the m1 came out, and I had a friend who got pretty high up in that company afterward.
thanks J. im buying the Ysx600
Now you are on the right track Jeremy.
RUclips analytics never lie... 😉 Videos like these get low views.
@@JeremySee please brother. Make videos on korg pa series
It seems like Yamaha has weighted and sweeter voices than Korg. As Entry Level Keyboards, Both of them are successful and buyer must choose the options as his requirement.
Hello jeremy, I wanna buy psr s670 according to my budget...Is it good to buy in 2020 or worth ?...How much the last and final cost of it in indian rupees ....Plz reply🙏❤❤❤
okay i cant help but love the quality of sound in the Yamaha, everything sounds so clean and well mastered, although im still leaning on the Korg Pa 300, the keybed also looks smoother than that of the PSR, amazing video
Roland - Honda
Yamaha - Yamaha
Korg - Kawasaki
Casio - Suzuki
In all of them, one thing is common and exciting, they're all well sounding & amazing Japanese 🍙 musical instruments
I am waiting for the upgrade of korg pa300.NICE COMPARISION 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍😇😄
Sir ,Your explanation is marvelous, Fantastic,Super.Sir can u please tell me that Yamaha sx 600 has touch screen. Can we control it without buttons by using touch
No, Yamaha SX600 has no touchscreen. Korg PA300 has a touchscreen.
Comparison is good but this instrument was introduced by Korg in 2014 .After 5 years only yamaha introduced touch screen arranger keyboards. Comparing 2014's korg to 2020's yamaha is of no use I think.
do korg pa 300 have touch screen
Yes
I'm a user of both Korg Pa700 And Yamaha Psr-sx 700... My Korg Pa is more satisfying than my Yamaha...
Can u pls say which is good for indian music
Psr 'I' siries
Thank you for this Video... I have to say... Yamaha sounds are more "detailed"... Korg still good, but ti does sound a little "Dated"... But anyway is all a matter of what you like the best!
I love your reviews..i have a psr s650,and it sounds better than that korg,i am in love with it😍
What the price difference between them
Bro please do a video about yamaha PSR - SX 900
Korg is ultimate because of it's depth in sound and quality of sound more over build quality..
Good evening sir. Please tell me your opinion about Kurzweil KA 90. I want to learn to play piano and i think it,s good! Thanks a lot.
You are the only one giving genuine and very very useful information! ❤️ From India
Does the PSR SX600 have MIDI functions? Please answer my question.
Yes
Hi Jeremy, which keyboard can you recommend, Korg EK 50, Pa 300 or Roland BK3, BK 5 Thank you very much.
The piano sound of yamaha is realistic then korg(in general) and korg is using an old program but yamaha it's screen make you navigate in the instrument so I like all yamaha keyboard and go check the yamaha GENOS and YAMAHA PSR A5000
Hey Jeremy?
Which keyboard is better for gigs?
Love your videos btw ❤️
Sir, please tell me ,how to use yahama psr600 multi pad function
Strings ensemble is on Korg more natural, but I'm experienced enough to know, that the Yamaha version will fit better in arrangements.
Nice video and best comparison my friend 👍👍👍
And now we have Medeli AKX-10.So which one for the same price?
Hello Jeremy, i'm in North Carolina, USA . I'm about to buy one of a Keyboard but i don't know which one to pick. one is Yamaha psr-sx600 and the other on is Korg pa600 i'm not a professional i just Beginner players, i don;t know which one should be my best Choice. Can you please give a good advise. Thank You!
Jeremy, could you suggest electronic keyboard for Trinity grade 6 and above? Specifications are very confusing. A video will be very helpful. Thank you!
🤩🤩👍🏽👌🏽 Excelente y maravillosa comparación, me da una idea de cuál adquirir.!!!
For the accompaniment,i prefere the Korg.yamaha is very good for the sonority...
Please demonstrate between pa 600 and psr sx 700 and 900
Awesome video! Would you recommend the PA300 over the i3 based on sound quality and usability?
Which of the 2 is better.please reply me
I think Yamaha SX600
Hi Jeremy, could you please speak about the keyboard’s action at the beginning of your reviews? It is most important and yaou used to do that, but not anymore. Thanks!
I hope to start playing soon
Reviewing features and functions would be better than comparing styles.
Thank you
My guess is the sx600 should be able to do that since it's USB port is also an audio interface.
This is actually a hard choice for me. I like the Korg's customizability and three upper voice but the new Yamaha has better sounding voices, audio interface and line out.
I hope Korg releases and updated version of the Pa300 soon.
Stay tuned 😉
Cheers
@@followyourpassion8378what did you decide to get and why?
Best thing is to have a psrsx900 and korg krome ex
That’s what I’m aiming for!

Where do you find the music sheets for the yamaha playlist ?
How to add some different styles on pa300
I already have a Yamaha MX88. Looking for something to make backing tracks. Will the sound / quality of the voices of the SX600 be better than the MX?
Is there any possible way to record a song in mp3 format by korg pa300?
