Volvemos a ser país sede después de 48 años y no puedo evitar sentir una dicha inmensa, porque mis padres vieron el certamen del 75 cuando el país fue sede y ahora yo también en una similar situación.

Fue uno de los Miss Universo que más me ha gustado. El escenario, el espectáculo en sí , los paisajes y atractivas candidatas. Ese año hubo chicas muy bellas que no clasificaron . Ejemplos Bolivia, Venezuela, Perú y Argentina, quienes eran bellas, además de la israelita Orit Cooper.
This is 100x way better than the horrible and rigged 2023 edition filled with plastic surgery delegates and biased judges along with the transgender owner. 😂😅
Bring back this format where national and cultural identity, natural beauty, personality and international unity are on display, not now where the superficial, the marketing and profit interests come first!!. If they return to this format, it's legitimacy maybe restored.

Ms. Phils answer was so... She could have thought of another person like her teacher or friend. She could have won this. Sweden gave the best answer for me. But then again, Finland was destined for it, maybe the scores back then were cumulative. Now, it's back to zero once you reach top 5.

The "getting-to-know" part of MU back then sure was awkward; no interpreters at all. Thank goodness interpreters play a larger part in the competitions now.
That was also the first time Miss Universe was held in a Latin American country via El Salvador being the first Latin American country and the first Spanish-speaking nation as a venue for Miss Universe.

I've noticed that the issue is that the women from Scandinavia (despite being naturally gorgeous) are generally too reserved in the interview portion as well as with the modelling.They don't "own it" the way from Latin American and other countries do and aren't as glammed up with their hair, make up and gowns. The last Scandinavian winner was in 1984 from Sweden and she was crazy pretty and had a more outgoing personality though her gown was not great. Those countries often do better in Miss International with no interview portion.
@@GeishaEntertainer The last time Europe won was 2016, then 2002 and 1990. Sweden, Germany, UK, Spain, Finland and Israel used to place high, these days no longer. Also the most beautiful women are from Italy and Greece,but Italy never won and not serious with their delegates
@@taroupriapus9760 I have noticed that contestants from the Miss Italia pageant are absolutely gorgeous. I have never really watched Miss Greece. They were definitely not well prepared for international pageants despite being beautiful.
