- Not that long ago, this area had a lot of 60s and 70s combine harvesters, but they have all gone and this is the only one left and it's still doing the job it was first built for in 1965. This shows it on a field of Barley and is the last one of the 2013 harvest. Update :- This machine has completed the 2015 harvest and now in its 50th year is to be featured in Classic Tractor magazine, Jan 2016 edition .
Super video taking me back to the late 1970’s when I owned and operated a mf500 combine. 70 acres done easily all underway 16% moisture. Did 15 acres in one day easily. Time moves on.
I was raised on massey and still love it today...👍👍
This machine, now 50 years old and has successfully completed the 2015 harvest, is to be featured in next month "Classic Tractor" magazine.

My Dad had a 510 with a Perkins Diesel engine. A later model that had interchangeable headers.
What a great video. All you need now is a nice 175 with a Massey (Weeks) trailer to pull along side..!!!
Was that my 500 sold here in the state I don't ever recall seeing one

@@RoryTrackrod Good to know its saved but seeing it there doing the job it was designed for was very pleasant, remember when they were common with 525s etc. Sounded nice too. The replacement 530 is a bit of a rarity I don't think I've ever seen one, the 525 and 625 seemed the common ones

This has the Perkins 6.354, 94 hp.
why the license plates
All UK road vehicles have to have a licence..
