I think the Intro Set can be a cheap but very cool gift for people who's new to the hobby, with almost everything inside to get started, and the amount of plastics is pretty decent too. For the other 2 sets, you might as well just just spend a bit more to grab Skaventide.
I just got the introductory set to see if I'd like it and ended up loving it. 4 days later and now I just grabbed Skaventide. Kind of wish I would've done that from the beginning but not the end of the world.
@@RapidVipercdog That's totally OK. The intro set has paints and a brush you can still make use of, plus if you want to play the game you have more minis to put on the board. Or you can use the minis are test models to trying out new painting techniques with. Either way, it's not a waste at all.
awesome, welcome back! may want to just get Skaventide. it has everything from the ultimate starter set, and a lot more! if the ultimate starter is priced at $210 same as the 40k starter, its only $55 more for skaventide. which includes the full hardback rulebook, everything from the ultimate starter, and a lot more models. the only thing it doesnt come with are some dice, which are a dime a dozen. you can also find Skaventide at a nice discount, i've seen them selling for around $200-225 consistently, but you cant go wrong either way!
Got the introductory set, and the painting set with the stormcasts, recently bought the paint set (for the clipper) And recently found the skaventide for ~150€ I'm super excited to start with Age of Sigmar ❤🎉
i would honestly recommend picking up skaventide. you can get a really good deal on it, and its loaded with models. by far the best Age of Sigmar box GW has ever made
I did get skaventide, thought I've preordered all of the launch boxes since Indomitus. I am done with all of these FOMO boxes (granted I still buy them)...I would rather just have these style starter sets at launch). I liked it when Dark Imperium and Soul Wars came out, having the different sets made sense.
haha, enjoy your summer, you'll have your work cut out for you when you get back! i cant wait to see the rest of the skaven and stormcast reveals. after seeing them in person, they are awesome!
If you buy discounted there is only a difference of 20%. Better idea is to sell extra models and core book. Then you get the contens of the ultimate for really cheap
Or just wait for Skaventide to be heavily discounted a la Dominion. Honestly, though, maybe we won’t get a repeat of Dominion because the hobby shops are being more careful about over ordering this launch box.
ya i agree, time will tell. i think we will see nice discounts on skaventide, but maybe not as good as dominion. GW sends its excess stock to the liquidators, like they did with Necromunda ash wastes, and FLGS were def cautious about over ordering because of GWs FOMO marketing cost them with dominion. so i think we will see good discounts in a few months, but maybe not 50% off like dominion. but it was def massively over produced, and GW was desperate to get FLGS to buy more, which is good for customers waiting on the discount!
My brother and I bought Skaventide. Excellent box with a Spearhead focus, which is okay for the big intro box. I am, however, massively disappointed in all the new starter sets. Most of all The ultimate starter set, which should be focused on the main game, not spearhead, it soups down the content. Give me two heavy game mats and a good terrain set, like in 40k, and that nice handy softcover rules book, which came in EVERY starter set in 3rd edition. It seems like GW became hell bend on reversing the failed combat patrol format with spearhead, and they might actually succeed, but to some degree at least at the expense of the main game. Intro set is same rubbish as in 40k, away with characters/heroes in with a bit of paint and a brush, and buff up the price of a lower value set. Either include leaders or drop the price GW, oh and 1 ruler and 6 dice instead of 2 and 10, might as well put stingy in capitals on the box. Fire and Jade book is very nice, but it cannot make up for the bad mix. Skaventide is excellent like Leviathan, the rest is best forgotten by comparison
ya man i think you're right. maybe not as good as dominion, or ash wastes, but the deals are def coming! GW made wayyy too many, and FLGS didnt fall for the FOMO marketing this time. GW is desperate to offload the massive amounts of skaventide filling up their warehouses
I got the Underworlds team, the Warcry team, the old rat ogres from ... Isle of Blood? and the rat swarms from Cursed City. All I'll ever need for Mordheim. I do want that new Grey Seer though.
its a nice box, but it def flopped. GW made way to many, and FLGS didnt get tricked this time, like they did with dominion, GW is desperate to offload their massive excess stock. calling stores, begging, and threatening them if they wont buy more!

@@Markynaz oh ya, for sure I don't regret it. I was able to paint those first and learned a little bit. Plenty of paint left over too
Need help deciding the best Warhammer youtube channel? War Hammer Man Studios is top of the list!!!!
haha, thanks man, appreciate the kind words!
Agreed!!
Getting back into the hobby after 20 years and the ultimate starter set/spearhead approach looks best until I figure out what I like.

nice, sounds like a stellar deal! i've been playing a lot of sigmar lately, and its def fun, by far much better game than sigmar 3.0!
@@WarHammerMan I'm a totally newbie to any tabletop but the design of the minions is pretty cool so I'll start my journey 💪🏿🐼
Exactly what I just did too. So excited :)
If I already have the Introductory set, is it worth getting one of the other two? I mean, if I really want to start playing

I was gonna get Skaventide, but I think I’m going to get the Ultimate Starter Set for Age of Sigmar. It’s more affordable for me.

Perfect video
Here after buying skaventide and realizing it doesn't come with data sheets for all the units in the box
ya its a shame, they didnt provide the cards, and once the codex came out, they paywalled the rules. bad decision IMO
@@WarHammerMan they should have just made cards like in the starter boxes just so out of the box you can use everything in the box
Simple go ultimate + starter paint. Easy
i think i'd rather just have skaventide, and a little paint set if i was starting fresh

I’m gonna call it right now….. I bet I’ll be able to get a killer Black Friday deal on SkavenTide for $100… only 4 months away. 🤷🏼♂️

Starterset for Slaven for Mordheim.
❤❤❤
ya i'm def using these skaven for a mordheim warband 100%

Just got the Introductory Set for 35€ (discounted) at a random toy shop, that was such a bargain.
