well lowermoon 1 was also defeated by tanjiro and plus kaigaku just became a uppermoon recently had no experience and WAS REALLY REALLY WEAK typically speaking zenitsu isn't clearly anywhere near muichiro,sanemi,giyuu,obanai or gyomei so he wouldn't become a hashira quickly but he could in the next generation of hashiras but the "only" one tanjiro would be the first one to become a hashira.

Zenitsu could become a hashira but so could Tanjiro. You see although Muzan Jackson was poisoned and some of the hashiras damaged him in the battle before. Muzan is extremely strong and could regenerate easily. He also isn’t apart of the twelve moons. He is way stronger and powerful. So I think if demons were to still exist Tanjiro AND Zenitsu would have upgraded to golden buttons.
