More than enough. And that flashlight helps me a lot. I use it while walking on the side of the road. And while crossing the road. I can check for stray dogs and avoid them. And most importantly it saved me & my dog 2 times. Once 4-5 drunk people were approaching towards us. And my German Shepherd started to bark. She was just trying to protect me. And I flashed that 1240 lumens directly at their eyes. And they backed off immediately. One Night a drunk person picked up stone or something like that for throwing at me & my dog. Because my dog started to bark when she saw that drunk donkey. He was about to throw that stone and I flashed 1240 lumens directly at his drunk eyes. He became temporarily blind and ran away immediately. Maybe he thought that I am a cop or something like that. 😛 Very useful tool.

Glad you dug it, this is still the best light for the every day man. But in my pocket right now is the Surefire Stiletto Pro- which I have had to have replaced and repaired by SF 2x now!
@@SGrosch holy crap man sorry for your luck on the SF Stiletto! That’s an expensive light I know that had to be a headache. Yeah streamlites are pretty rock solid and reliable lights. I had 1 with the 10 tap programming can’t remember which 1 but it fell off my IOTV armor plate Molle while I was training in the field and I was pretty sad about it. After that I bought my first and LAST acebeam L16. That light was awesome… until it literally only dropped from waist high onto concrete and went dead. Pretty much said F Acebeam and did a little research. Ended up buying a fenix PD36R when it first came out around 2019? This was my first Fenix light and I still have it and works flawlessly. I counted 16 drops onto various improved and unimproved surfaces to include it falling out of my back pocket riding my cruiser at 65mph. Turned back around on the express way and it all still worked!!!Based off that I’ve put my confidence solely into Fenix Lighting USA 🇺🇸 boulder Colorado brand. More recently did I buy the smaller, more pocketable Fenix PD35 V.3 as of Jan 30, 2023 and dropped it 3 times on concrete. Again both these lights have given me no problem and I can say I am pretty much a loyal Fenix customer. But a lot people swear off surefire and they seem to have a complete US customer service team to help mitigate problems with their flashlight. Which is really nice I’m sure. Did you get an immediate response and SF fix to your light?
I have a EDC lashlgth I suggest the "Thrunite Archer 1A" (a dual-switch 1xAA light that can also use 14500 rechargeable batteries. 200 lumens with AA, about 450 with 14500 LiOn
Now upgrade to a 4000 lumen, strobe-ready Nightcore p20ix tactical flashlight! Even the toughest guys who are normally unfazed to pepper spray or tasers wouldn't be able to stand up to this! Very handy and has bezels that double as a bludgeoning weapon capable of shattering car windows!
I just recently started to carry it everyday and its amazing how many times i use it now that i have it on me. Same with the knife. Although, i wouldnt ever recomend it for self defence, a good little pepper spray is a lot better option
some of the classes I've helped run, we have taught with 90 lumen lights. Back in the day 60 lumen was standard. Many other factors than just lumen output. Just like with a knife and steel selection.
I can't see what tactical or self defence features you are missing in it. Have you tried this light? Neutral tinted mid range beam, crenelated bezel, truly instant access to strobe (which I haven't seen in the large majority of tactical flashlights), high output, quick-drawable, grippy grip, durable and large battery life, pocketable, holsterable, rifle mountable, and also perfect for every day tasks. What else do you think a tactical light should have?
I got myself the streamlight aaprotac. Love it. 150 lumins and no fumbling around for a side switch. Got my dad the sameone you have for all the same reasons. But it was far brighter. The strobe being the second option after full bright is a important thing to have. My fenixpd35 has the odd fumble switch. But 550 lumins. So who knows whats best?

dont have the same switching, settings, size...etc. If you were JUST picking a light on Lumen= get a different one, if you were using for lots of specific features= get a different one. But for self defense and tactical use= this is the one I recommend.
@@SGrosch if you need to really disorienting attacker it need to have a really high candela and lumen, if not it only can disorient properly in a really short distance... if you want instant access to highest mode or strobe than olight m2r pro has all this feature with momentary on switching... im telling this because im feeling upset about streamlight product when im first buy streamlight stinger HL that suppose to be a good thrower light for my duty but when i got it in hand im really dissapointed because the throw is not so far when use it to shining a large area, even my cheap chinese astrolux c8 can throw further compare to this big stinger light and the battery runtime also really suck and it need special battery and cannot use normal 18650 vaping battery... when im emailing them about the battery runtime issue that i have, instead of solving the issue, they told me to buy a upgrade streamlight battery pack for almost $40... im done with any streamlight.. now im happy with fenix pd36r as my pocket light and cheap chinese sofirn sp70 as a main duty light that the price is same as streamlight battery pack on banggood..

What a crazy world you must live in where everyone is out trying to sneak up on you, and you're constantly worrying about getting in fights, being robbed, having to maul a dude with your flashlight that you actually walk around everywhere in public with this thing in your hand. Someone is down the road and you're just shining a light in their eyes? How do you know they're intent on causing you harm? They're down the street.
I just live in reality. I have taught people who carry guns and knives for work. Seen the aftermath when people WERENT prepared. And decided I would rather have and not need, than need and not have. @@SGrosch As we have seen in the COVID-19 pandemic, this is what happens when no one prepares for the worst. Pre-COVID, people thought doomsday preppers were nuts. Now the preppers were proven right.
You see... There is a line where this "safety" thing stops making sense. Is normal to use your seatbelt or to have a fire extinguisher in your car, but when you're starting wearing a helmet when driving and body armor when you go out at a bar, you kinda cross that line what would be considered the "normal" one. You might die tomorrow by a piece of a building falling on top of you. There's no EDC gadget that could save you from that. And I think that it's more likely to happen than getting stabbed by a random person. A helmet would make sense, but there are some situations where it's too much of a bother to be ready for. I don't care what you're saying, if you're constantly getting in fights with people, you're blinding homeless guys and drunk people, using your light to cut in line... You're pretty much an asshole with a flashlight. And having in mind that most of the things you prepare for have something to do with bars, I'm gonna go on a limb and assume that you also can't hold your liquor. So you're that drunk asshole with a flashlight. Good for you!
The flashlight PREVENTED fights. I have never had to get into a "real" street fight" because I avoid, deescalate, or handle another way. Like with the light. The examples I gave are the only times I have done those things. You IMAGINED "constantly" and then exaggerated what I said, to argue with my point. Don't carry a light, I don't care. But just the other night my EDC light helped the cooks at a roof top bar find the outlet in the dark for their cart. I got discounted drinks and free food after as a thank you. :D
@@SGrosch What world are you living in, where people give you free drinks for having a flashlight? We all have them, on our phones. Is not something that deserves foods and drinks. I’ve had quite a few different lights up until my final and last purchase; the Fenix PD35 V.3.
I freakin love this light! Just wondering what your carrying. Now
Glad you dug it, this is still the best light for the every day man.
It would be nice if you actually mention the product name. Never did find out what product you were talking about.
I linked to it in description!
I have a EDC lashlgth I suggest the "Thrunite Archer 1A" (a dual-switch 1xAA light that can also use 14500 rechargeable batteries. 200 lumens with AA, about 450 with 14500 LiOn
love my olight warrior
Now upgrade to a 4000 lumen, strobe-ready Nightcore p20ix tactical flashlight!
Even the toughest guys who are normally unfazed to pepper spray or tasers wouldn't be able to stand up to this!
Very handy and has bezels that double as a bludgeoning weapon capable of shattering car windows!
I combine my light with shoe spikes in my laces.
I just recently started to carry it everyday and its amazing how many times i use it now that i have it on me. Same with the knife. Although, i wouldnt ever recomend it for self defence, a good little pepper spray is a lot better option
I carry a floodlight in my vehicle and a smaller one on my person.
pepperspray wont work every time + it is illegal several places.
@@Pan76Gaming - someone injuring or killing you is also illegal!
@@Pan76Gaming why won’t pepper spray work? Cross winds? Range inadequate?
Good stuff, Brother. Appreciate the knowledge shared here. Subbed
How effective is the flashlight for self defense in the day time?
still can blind a bit with it, but I'd use as impact weapon during the day
Almost useless
Flashlight needs to have a strike bezel, I'd rather have that than nothing
I'm assuming you aren't a 'flashaholic'? It;s good that you carry a light, but why have 350 lumens when you can have 1600+?
Dabbled, but features, warranty, ease of procurement, and all the Streamlight features make this my #1. PRICE is another factor for most.
because 300 is generally enough to do the job
some of the classes I've helped run, we have taught with 90 lumen lights. Back in the day 60 lumen was standard.
Many other factors than just lumen output. Just like with a knife and steel selection.
Back in the day, a S&W model 10 was standard...
I would install a thyrm switchback on that streamlight btw.
streamlight for pistol but Fenix for hand
He forgot to mention to look for the throw of the flashlight. This determines beam intensity.
that is dictated by focus and reflector, and not a big deal unless you need REACH
Good flashlight got one to.
Thanks, great advice
you should have done a review of 5. this looks like an ad. also you recommend another one the year before.
good idea for next one, this was just done quickly with a buddy and still is the 1 light I tell everyone to get.
Olight m2r pro warrior in defence mode. Best production flashlight hands down.
nope, awesome light, but doesn't have all the features it needs for a true TACTICAL light
What jacket is that buddy? Looks kinda cool.
5.11 hoodie, had a big discount code so got some of there stuff. Wore this one a lot on road, rarely here in AZ!
Great video 🤙
I got myself the streamlight aaprotac. Love it. 150 lumins and no fumbling around for a side switch. Got my dad the sameone you have for all the same reasons. But it was far brighter. The strobe being the second option after full bright is a important thing to have. My fenixpd35 has the odd fumble switch. But 550 lumins. So who knows whats best?
Ive got a streamlight protac usb rechargeable thats 850 lumens. Pretty cool how far lights have come
Check out the fenix e30r brightest compact 18650 out there.
No strobe mode?
this one has it, but I prefer to manually strobe, so I control duration and can go to solid on when I want
7:15 definetly why ım using my flashlighyt so often and its works all the time
let me tell me a storyof mine :D
2 years ago ı was in the bar/club with my classmates (4/5 person) music was so loud

ı gave him but ı forgot to ı handleded ı was looking for a week and suddenly remembered where pulled out last time and rushed to bar asked fot it and it was given back to me :D
thanks for reading :D
is it enough to be self defense flashlight with only 350 lumen ?.. my cheap chinese $12 convoy s2+ sst40 also more than 1400 lumens... rather than streamlight better go with olight or fenix brand that perform far more better to any streamlight..
dont have the same switching, settings, size...etc. If you were JUST picking a light on Lumen= get a different one, if you were using for lots of specific features= get a different one. But for self defense and tactical use= this is the one I recommend.
@@SGrosch if you need to really disorienting attacker it need to have a really high candela and lumen, if not it only can disorient properly in a really short distance... if you want instant access to highest mode or strobe than olight m2r pro has all this feature with momentary on switching... im telling this because im feeling upset about streamlight product when im first buy streamlight stinger HL that suppose to be a good thrower light for my duty but when i got it in hand im really dissapointed because the throw is not so far when use it to shining a large area, even my cheap chinese astrolux c8 can throw further compare to this big stinger light and the battery runtime also really suck and it need special battery and cannot use normal 18650 vaping battery... when im emailing them about the battery runtime issue that i have, instead of solving the issue, they told me to buy a upgrade streamlight battery pack for almost $40... im done with any streamlight.. now im happy with fenix pd36r as my pocket light and cheap chinese sofirn sp70 as a main duty light that the price is same as streamlight battery pack on banggood..
this guy that had been involved in lot of fight also choose olight.. ruclips.net/video/vK1vvRLkWcw/видео.html
Any commentary on the Fenix PD35TAC?

It’s an outstanding light. Fenix is underrated IMO. This guy here likes his too as you can see @ 26:20

Nice video
junior centeno thank you!
I'm convinced you can sell anything if you put the word "tactical" in front of it. I saw a tactical spork on Amazon the other day. $50+ is too much for any flashlight.
Fenix pd35 tac it’s a go!everything else is a compromise
That's not totally true. While the PD35 is a great light, there are a bunch of good options out there today...
20 seconds?? More like two before the guy lowers his head and bum rushes you. And yes, I also teach self-defense to individuals. Streamlight Polytac (600 lumens) clipped to my pocket.
welcome to try it, come to Phx and I will gladly demo on you. We can film it and put online. :)

Fair enough. When the pandemic is over. But just a demonstration between us. No cameras. Wouldn't want others accusing us of a lack of integrity for planning a publicity stunt. Oh, and it won't be pre-planned since real world encounters never are. Have a good one.

40 bucks on ebay.com.
neat-o. but lumens isnt all that matters.

"I've taken out entire SWAT teams using a flashlight"... Enough said. Hahaha
when did I say that? I have done so during low-light, hostage rescue training with SWAT teams in Az and Ca. when I was assisting with some training with a private contracting company.
Stephen Grosch listen to yourself from 9:30 on. That is a ridiculous statement.
.... But that is a good EDC light... I'll give you that.
"during FORCE ON FORCE training" google that term if you are unfamiliar with it :D
350 lumens lol!!
Making Flashlights Great Again!!!
Will stick with my 2000 lumens.
I am using Solarforce L2M defender style built with 400lms high candela single mode drop-in. All about candela not lumens, if I got 400lms with 25,000 candela and you have 2000 lumens with 12,000 candela, mine will still appear brighter when shined directly to the eyes.
Kinda douchey to shine on others at a club just to get to the bathroom. If actual bouncers see you doing that they'll kick you out lol
they never did! and like in vid, I cover light mostly and dont shine in eyes. like bouncers do!
just read reviews carefully
My bf tells me to carry this and be a MAN bcuz of this video
I carry a SOG or Surefire Everywhere I Go. I've been told sometimes lights make people more belligerent to throw things at you though cuz they get mad and want to fight
never heard anyone say, and dont buy. the light gets them to look AWAY
Get some 14500 lithium recargeables.
Real matcho
Thank you!
And this company paid you how much for this 10 minute ad ?
NOTHING, and I actually use to get FREE/big hook up on lights from another company. I just buy these off Amazon.
iPhone has one.
not anything close to this one..
Phones don't have lights. They have battery guzzlers. Get a _real_ torch, fella, like a Lumintop or Convoy.
Cva life xml t6 800 lumens and it's the same size 1 18650 lithium battery has zoom and can shine over 700ft and it's a tactical light fronts sharp to strike with... that things junk made me laugh.
Why are you walking back from a bar?
I live in downtown Phx, and never drink and drive. Tons walking distance.
"No other tool is gonna fill that job" - A cellphone is.
Wrong.
If you had ANY legit training, you would already know better.

I also LOVE learning this stuff, it keeps me in shape, and I also get paid to teach it= so am into more than most.
I keep a spare tire in my car. Not because I have ever needed one (yet) but "just in case"
I carry a jumper box when I go on road trips "just in case"
I carry a fire extinguisher in my car, because I have seen other cars on fire. not mine, "just in case"
I keep water in my car, "just in case"
and I carry a med kit in it as well "just in case"
a flashlight and gun are also, JUST IN CASE.
But i have had to pull both of them out already....

It's like being cheered for carrying your calculator around. It does not happen in real life, and it shouldn't. Last time when someone genuinely asked for a flashlight, Baywatch was on...
