    amazing tutorial...................why we divide total area in to 100, 000 to determine area in km2?

      Because 1sqkm = 100000 sq meter, that's why..
      When data has UTM projection, that time this area will be calculated always sq meter

      Beacuse shape file has UTM Projection and this projection unit is meter. area is always sq..

      It's depends on projection unit. This is UTM projection...

    how to convert square meter to hectare?

      Same step you can follow, just select hectare and run

      @@cycleSCUBA Hi, I am not divided by 1000, I divided by 1000000 because of Sq.m. to sqkm conversation. I think you know that software given the area as per projection unit. Please let me know if you have any doubt
