BLACK MONDAY takes viewers back to October 19, 1987 - aka Black Monday, the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. To this day, no one knows who caused it … until now. It’s the story of how a group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street and ended up crashing the world’s largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine and the glass ceiling. Starring Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells and Regina Hall.

I liked the serie. But I didn't like the idea that an algorithm caused the crash. First at all trading algos didn't exist in the 80's and besides that, any algo relays over the fractal nature of the markets (that's why they get an statistical advantage) but this nature was just ignored in those days for most of the traders this was (and still is) the real deal behind stocks. If they were using an algorithm they surely would have seen the crash coming before it happens (at least as a math chance.) Enough to cover positions and to avoid the deadliest sell off.
