I'm still killing time waiting for Ni No Kuni II to drop so enjoy this review from my backlog and the 1 joke in the whole video! Also... apologies. I keep messing up the main characters name between Takayuki and Tatayuki. I think I made some typo's in my script and just read it verbatim.
@Ryuko Chan! As beautiful as the animation was in Ni No Kuni 1 cutscenes they always threw me off cause they were in a different frame rate. So long as the game can pack as much punch to the feels the first one did at the start I think it'll be A1!
Your reviews are costing me a lot of money, dammit! (Seriously, I've bought like five games off of your recommendations, and they'e all been great. Thanks.)
Thanks for checking it out! Visual Novels aren't for everybody, but after hearing how much this one sold I knew I had to finally check it out and see if I was really missing all that much haha.
Darn. I had a feeling when I was editing I used that clip twice haha. Oh well, hopefully it helps people realize what I was talking about with the obvious typo's in the game. 6:00 "I should away from here."
I saw all the megadimension and cyber/hyper dimension games pretty deep in your amazon list and MAN you really need to get on that, they're fantastic and feel like much more than just fanservice generators, I might need to send you a couple to get you hooked!
Definitely appreciate your unbiased review; i wanted to get this game(first saw it on the vita store), but $50 Canadian sounds a bit pricey for a 15-20 hour visual novel. BUT....the art assets look awesome, so i'll most likely pick it up on sale, for PC or PS T.V.
Zero escape trilogy is nearly untouchable in my books haha. The third game had some.. iffy bits but I feel Virtues Last Reward and 999 more than make up for it.
If you do ever take the plunge try starting with something that actually has quite a bit of gameplay too. Going from general action oriented games to a VN can be very jarring and discouraging. Something Like Danganronpa is a good place to start.
Zero escape honestly probably has the smartest written story I ever seen in a game. The second entry (Virtues last reward) especially. I can't talk about it because it would be spoilers but I seen twists in that game I never could have predicted and how they pull it off is simple genius. The actual gameplay isn't as involved as danganronpa but thinking through the puzzles and story in that series is just a treat.
It's addressed in the game. At the beginning he just finds it attached to another letter but they have a better explanation for it by the "True" ending haha.
Hmm, this game looks ok. I'm down for a little mystery, I'm not really into these types of games but if I can find it for a decent price I'll buy it. 7:57 hahaha
Yeah. VN's aren't for everybody. It took me a few to be able to play them comfortably without getting bored. The closer they feel to point&click dos games to me the better.
Visual Novels aren't usually my thing, however, I've heard nothing but praise about the Danganronpa games so I'm always kinda curious. Great way to end the video bye the way lol.
Danganronpa is a bit like this as it's a Visual Novel Adventure game (As in there's some actual elements of gameplay.) As far as visual novel adventure games go Danganronpa is top of the class!
Why on earth would some loser around the world would give this fella on his video a dislike?!
Sad life.... anyways! Thank you for the review man!

Tarks Gauntlet I couldn’t see this right away cause I was in school but seeing this 2nd best thing this Friday

I like the spoiler protection! Reminds me of the online Japanese videos I like to watch sometimes ;)
Those video's shouldn't have that protection haha.
I love spoiler protection because nowadays it’s very easy to get spoiled on the net
The way you described with a development in being interest in the residents and exploring the region kind reminds of Deadly Premonition.
Awesome work on this one, Tarks! Not really my.... cup of tea, but enjoyed getting the overview to make sure!

I really need to start playing more games like this, nice review
1:54 & 6:04 - *_Say_* away from me! lol

Darian Frost my fiance just got me physical copies of the first 2 games on Sunday so I'll definitely be trying to get around to them.
Yet another game I still need to take out of the shrinkwrap and play.
If you're even remotely interested in it, Demon Gaze 2 (and 1 for that matter, but particularly 2) is 10/10 breddy guud.
I've heard nothing but great things but I don't think I own it. I'll try to pick it up and hope someday I make the time for it haha.
A truly relaxing experience. Except for the "interrogations".

That ending was just priceless X'D!
I had no jokes through the whole script so I wanted to at least slug in a visual gag haha. Glad you enjoyed it.
i actually loved this game. but as much as i do love it i still prefer many others like zero escape but this was a nice surprise for me
Zero escape trilogy is nearly untouchable in my books haha. The third game had some.. iffy bits but I feel Virtues Last Reward and 999 more than make up for it.
oh i can agree the 3rd game is probably my least favorite but it was still great.
I still haven't committed to playing a visual novel, but this is another one that looks kinda interesting. Maybe some day.

I've heard good things about that series, and I believe the other was the Zero Escape games that piqued my interest.

Wow, that's some pretty high praise. I'm gonna have to add it to the list for sure then.
I'm sorry but how the hell do you not read a letter for that long lol.
It's addressed in the game. At the beginning he just finds it attached to another letter but they have a better explanation for it by the "True" ending haha.
SAY AWAY FROM ME!!

Yeah, that's the first one I'll try if I decide to take the plunge. I do enjoy a good story afterall.
I highly recommend the zero escape series if you ever do go into visual novel series
Easy Plat (Y)
Almost 10 minutes of stirring his coffee only for it to taste like shit. Nice review nonetheless
Watched this on my TV via Ps4, was a pretty gay experience
I'm glad to share the experience with you.
Tarks Gauntlet nothing wrong with the video, but PS4’s RUclips experience is trash
I stopped playing after the first confrontation with the geeky guy. The PC in this game is a horrible person.
