- A Detroit-based record label is changing the way music is recorded and released. Third Man Records, founded in 2001, is the brain child of Jack White of the White Stripes who, along with his team, has built a unique music empire with vinyl presses that are the first new ones to be built in 35 years. Anthony Mason reports.

I hope that Jack White knows that he's impacted so many people with his passion for bringing aesthetic and physicality to music and making it tangible again. He's one of the most important people in the music world today.
Jack is an old soul. He’s like a fine Victorian piece of furniture that only gets cooler as it lives on. Thank you for keeping it real, Jack
And ironically he was a upholstery & furniture builder before the fame
I was at both of those shops! So there!
music is still number 1 on my list, jack!!!!! it always will be!
true legend true singer true artist god bless you
a true legend would be Ry Cooder! do you know of him?
Will you calm down with the Ry Cooder comments, thousands of other artists were not included in this

But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
yes, but so very few are not even close to having his credentials, when it comes to american roots music.
I remember I heard about this was going to be aired at about 1 am. 7 hours before it was to be aired. So I stayed up all night because I knew I wouldn't get up in time to watch it. I passed out 10 minutes before it went on.
Nothing better than vinyl. The packaging, the look, the sound. You feel like you actually own the music. Digital is great for on the go but vinyl will always have a place in my home
I wish white stripes would come back together.Jack and meg were the best.
The Willy Wonka of vinyl records. Long may he reign.
looool
🤣😂
This man will make records great again.
music should allways be number 1 period
God bless Jack White, a candle in the dark.
God Bless Jack White for bringing jobs to Nashville and Detroit his hometown! What a smart guy and bringing back vinyl after everyone thought it was dead. Reviving the Record Industry singlehandedly! Amazing! He also has the only recording studio that records directly to vinyl in the US. A completely lost process. Those machines were all discarded and destroyed. Now I hope he makes a ton of money cause he reinvests in music. Keep up the good work!
He's as cool as the other side of the pillow, and giving back to the audio world in a big way. Love it!
Can't wait to meet you
this guy will make earth go back to 1988
3:02 He didn’t answer his question. 😂”Uhh”.
OMG vinal records are golden for collectors! Thank you for your contribution
Jack is doing great things!
yes but he needs to do some more homework. shame on him for not including Ry Cooder in the series. don't you think?
what about Engelbert Humperdink Lol
Maybe its whats there vs. Whats not;
Worry about what YOU dont have;
Some go with what they

As an entrepreneur (in a completely different field), JW is an inspiration. Go for the vision, not for the money.
THIS NEEDS MORE VIEWS!!!!!!
Jack White I want to be a session drummer with your company. I'm a drummer and love Rock n Roll, Loretta Lynn, Wanda Jackson and Bob Dylan. You are the current torch bearer of Rock n Roll. I ALSo love the White Stripes and all that. Your version of One More Cup of Coffee...come on man. I want to drum for you, brother.
Bless Mr. White for his passion and soul he shares with us fans of his challenges he takes with every new step in his career. I wish I had time to collect vinyl . That’s my childhood. The best I can do is walk lavendar dogs and practice singing. Good work music is universal.
Finally some one who has respect for the artists! Peace ✌️👽Christo
Long live vinyl records, Jack White & Third Man Records !..
Hey Jack, that new Triplegragh pedal is the 🐝 bees knees!
Like was said , GOD BLESS you Jack and may the force be with you. Only to be good enough to have you record me, wish drool. trust your gut mister.
Much respect for Jack White and staff at Third Man Records!
I am going to press some good albums at Third Man. Great business practice there.
great and interestng
I want to tour this place.
This matters to me!
Please add Mark Lanegan's audio book, it's priceless!
4:11 a proof that Jack White is a creature not from this world))
I luv Jack White!!!!
I know that this wouldn't be on CBS if it wasn't for the focal changes making its move back to audio.
The predictable lag of resolution has trouble keeping itself away from a spectrum as of now, and I myself can't imagine what wordtweak would work on the Mosaic Indiantree, nor my Gauge Afghani Manakin.
Both single digit.
Do they make mew 78rpms?
You ever want to meet someone just to see his record collection.
Jack White, J Mascis, Henry Rollins to name a few.
Jack has actually stated in another interview that his record collection is pretty small compared to some others. He said he only owns about 200-300 records. This actually makes me more curious as to which records he owns.
The man is a force! Badass and absolutely yummy! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Big Up Jack, I love what he’s doing and i hope a movement emerges out of the 15 second ashes of tik tok back into long form listening and tangible physical records. I realise the ship has sailed but there is plenty of room for everyone. And what a great talent his signing is. Much respect.
cigarettes are getting to you, jack
He smokes those little cigars, Capones or something like that
VEVO to third man
Lemme take a bite of that pancake
utterly bereft of talent.
Beach Boys- "Forever" is a Wonderful song (just sayin')

It seemed like people, as a whole, were much more creative decades ago; especially before TV. You actually left the house for entertainment. And it was pure, real, gifted singer's and musicians- who cared about their "craft". It has a lot to do with the downslide of morality and respectability too.

jack white...where was Ry Cooder? shame on you!!!!!!
Mind telling me who Ry Cooder is and what he has to do with this?
Just curious.
study-up. ry cooder is probably the most influential musicologist ever to record. from the early 70's, he introduced many listeners to the re-birth of delta blues, then opened our ears to little known Hawaiian king pins. then on to gospel, jazz, bop, modern blues, dust bowl blues, (all American music) ry traveled to cuba and organized and performed with dozens of little known cuban performers musicians who were in their 60;s 70;s and 80;s. (buena vista social club). Ry Cooder has every right to have been included in this program. he should have been brought-in to spread his knowledge of American music. he should have been the narrator. you may be too young to appreciate the body of work he's contributed. look him up and get back to me. you'll be busy for weeks/months,etc
oh, forgot to mention, ali farka toure' (african guitar hero) and manuel galban (world music guitar wizard)
how about his many movie soundstacks. crossroads, southern comfort, the long riders, to name a few.
almost forgot...................probably the foremost slide/bottle neck guitarist in the world..... ask bonnie raitt. (my #2).... duane RIP
I'll stick to my "invisible, disposable" music, thanks.
