In my experience in West Africa, the aggressive haggling can feel wild to us who are not used to it, but there is no real bad blood or actual anger. These guys don't earn a lot of money and it can make a huge difference for them financially if you pay 20, 25 or 30 bucks. I love Tunisair. I love Tunisia, my mom's partner is from there so often visited and genuinely love the people and country. It's not perfect but both a great airline and country. Thanks for doing Tunisair again!!
Your experience flying TUNISAIR to what's known as the world's most unfriendly country is truly intriguing! The contrasts and unique encounters you've shared make this journey stand out. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into such a fascinating adventure! ✈🌍
You're absolutely right about the French knowledge. It opens up a whole different world. I travelled around some of the French-speaking Africa and I never had a problem. But when I was with a friend who only knew English, they were sometimes even mocking him 😅 "I speak French, Spanish, Arabic (or some other local language) and he only speaks English? What's wrong with him?" 😂
I speak Canadian French and the crossover with Cameroonian French is ... interesting at times. But everyone was good natured and joking about it when certain phrases would just miss.
*Josh, is that Black Mold @**21:50** on the ceiling in the corner? That would explain the bad smell, especially if it spread throughout the walls and AC units.*
I just came across your channel this night, and I have taken my time to watch a couple of your videos. I must say you are a very genuine and brave person. I think businesses must be willing to welcome the harsh reviews or comments made by their customers, because that's the only way they can improve, especially we Africans. I have really fallen in love with that lounge manager. I will definitely visit Tunisia one day because of him. You earned yourself a new subscriber, Mr Josh. I would love to see you review your visit to my beloved country Ghana 🇬🇭. We are the most friendly and welcoming country in Africa. Much love ❤
Such a great Lounge manager really loves he's job:) I visited Africa for the first time 2 months ago. Lufthansa to Joburg, then Joburg to Walvis Bay, Namibia with Airlink. BTW Airlink was very good and Namibia, what beautiful a country. I will be back for a holiday :)
I don't see a problem with a flight from Tunis to Conakry not having a safety announcement in English. French isn't exactly an obscure language and it is flying between two nations that primarily speak it! (yes, I know Tunisia also speaks Arabic!)
Forever grateful we have Josh to give us real, unbiased reviews unlike other creators who accept kick-backs and freebies from airlines. It's also a testament to his character that he will give airlines a 2nd and 3rd chance to see if they've improved.
I’ve been on many Tunisair flights, and I can say that for the safety announcement, it depends on the destination of the plane. When going to a country that doesn’t speak Arabic and French, then they add English. But since you are going to senegal and Guinea, which are primarily French speaking countries, the announcement stays in French and Arabic.
I'll be flying at the 25 in January from MXP to TUN with Tunisair. I've flown with this airline since I was a child. I remember the times under Ben Ali. I'm excited. I love Tunisia 🫡
Um, we had the same treatment when we first visited Quebec in Canada. We were laughed at by Postes Canada. All changed, when I lived in Montreal. All of sudden, the French Canadians in the shops helped me. This summer, I took the train from Montreal to Halifax and one train steward did not take any orders in English. He made me speak French the entire 23 h on the train when I went to the cafe car.
Amazing improvement to the lounge and such friendly owner/mum. Longer haul plane seemed a big improvement too. There's nothing like prolonged taxi-fare bargaining. It's good to see an airline improve no doubt in part due to this channel.
I know of one popular food channel RUclipsr who would say that Egypt is the most unfriendly country in the world. The police confiscated all of his expensive camera equipment, interrogated him, and continually harassed him. He had to shoot a five-series video with I-phones.
But that would be unfair, Egyptian are facing the same things on a daily basis from the authorities and if it wasn't for the us supporting a coup against their democratically elected president things would've been different there on every metric, for me the three top unfriendly countries when it comes to the people are Belgium, Cameroon and Luxembourg .
For your information The safety announcement depends on the destination Since you are traveling to Guinea it is done in French. If you travel from Tunis to London, it will be done in English They even do all in German for the flights from Tunisia to Germany. So nothing wrong in there!
Even though the flight crew is required to communicate in English to ATC, the cabin crew is not. That's more of regional/company policy thing than anything else and they can't do it in every language; otherwise you'd never get off the ground!
ICAO Doc 10086 recommends that information provided to passengers via safety briefings, announcements and safety demonstrations should be transmitted in the language of the operator and in English to promote appropriate communication with passengers.
ICAO Doc 10086 recommends that information provided to passengers via safety briefings, announcements and safety demonstrations should be transmitted in the language of the operator and in English to promote appropriate communication with passengers.25 Sept 2018
I have noticed that alot of airplane safety brochures are more picture based. I think you should be able to have the safety brochure in your preferred language emailed to you after buying your tickets.
Well that was a huge improvement in some areas, the Lounge Manager and his Mum have done absolutely amazing job they should be very proud and many airlines could learn so much from them...credit were credit is due...airport staff inc taxis the world over can make or break an airport, they failed miserable ...and the hotel is disgraceful, I could only imagine the cleanliness going by the water damage and mould on the ceiling is any indicator...a room review is much needed ...stay safe
It is amazing to see the company finally improving ! You are one of the reasons the change occurred, thanks! (about the safe announcement: They stated that it depends on what flight you're on, for example if you fly from Tunisia to Germany the announcement is going to be in Arabic and German, etc...) I think they should always give the safety instructions in English too, I hope that changes soon...
Thank you so much for these videos, especially the Tunisair ones. I'm Tunisian, and Tunisair is a rich and one of the first airlines created in the region. It's really sad to see the condition that the airline and the airport has reached with all the corruption that was in the country. But with continuous testing and auditing, the airline and everything will improve! People in my country are trying to fix things after all what happened to us. A help like this should put all the workers on the right track.
Hi Josh, If you're back in Europe, could you take a look at FSC airline AIS Airlines? They operate a Jetstream 31/32 on the routes from Esbjerg to Stavanger and Karup to Copenhagen. Perhaps you could plan a trip across Europe using only smaller regional carriers like AIS Airlines, Avanti Air, Aoroexpress Regional, Blue Express, etc.
I really enjoyed the video, but I feel the title could give the wrong impression of Tunisia. It might make Tunisia seem unwelcoming, and for those who might skip watching, it could create a negative perception. I'd appreciate it if you could take a moment to reconsider the title to better reflect the positive message in the video. Thanks!
@@adamaabb6333 Look, if you’re having a bad experience because you didn’t bother to understand the country’s entry laws, that’s on you. Just because you didn’t do the basic research doesn’t mean Tunisia is ‘unwelcoming’ to everyone else. Maybe next time, figure out what you’re getting into before you arrive. Tunisia isn’t holding you ‘hostage’ it’s simply following regulations that you seem to have ignored, doesn’t reflect the typical experience of the thousands of visitors who enjoy Tunisia safely every year. Complaining about an entire country because you didn’t do your homework is unfair to people who might otherwise have a great experience.

Tunisia very beautiful country very welcoming people tunisiair use to be one of the best but after what tunisia has gone through since 2011 to 2021 things has gone down but now the county is getting back so wish the best 🙏
Its good to see the Mother working in the lounge, seems to be as polite and kind to other passengers as she was to Josh (see her in the background). VERY impressive!!
That smell can often be caused by a dirty filter in the ac system
My reviews are always real :))
But you are right - Josh is AMAZING! I learn so much on his videos and adventures 👍😊
🎉any way. Really. Basicly
I love Tunisia ❤❤❤
I like the new lounge Manager. He is friendly and cheerful.
Loved this for you. Thank you so much I love it when I get a new video from my favourite travel youtuber ❤
I'll be flying at the 25 in January from MXP to TUN with Tunisair. I've flown with this airline since I was a child. I remember the times under Ben Ali. I'm excited. I love Tunisia 🫡
Heartwarming people in the lounge....♥
They had him FLAGGED the moment he checked in. Apparently the airline put ALL their employees on NOTICE. And that immigration officer, rude.
Oh no doubt.
Is that something you _know_ or just _assume_ that's the case?
I had an AMAZING time in Tunisia. I thought it was a super friendly country.
Glad to see all these improvements in our Tunisair
Your channel is not just a place for entertainment, it is a source of inspiration and wisdom. Thank you for your creativity and diligence!🗻🌒🐭
I totally agree!
Tunisair ✈️❤
I love it when airlines take on feedback of reviewers and work towards fixing and updating things, the new lounge looks amazing.
@@zm_headhuntergreetings from Bruges, Belgium. Hereby you are declared persona non grata in my city 😅
@zm_headhunter did u cry when morsi died ?
@@woutergijs5246People in Brugge were very kind when I visited in 2022.
@@travellinman382we are just a bunch of grumpy old racists, scolding the tourists who complain when they step in the dog shit of our Fifi.
That was a welcome! Great job by the owner and his mom.
For your information
The safety announcement depends on the destination
Since you are traveling to Guinea it is done in French.
If you travel from Tunis to London, it will be done in English
They even do all in German for the flights from Tunisia to Germany.
So nothing wrong in there!
It’s my birthday and this is the best present I could ask for.Thank you Josh
Great vid as per usual!
It’s really an improvement! Nice.
It "recommends" like u wrote
I would love to visit that lounge with the lovely manager and his mother.
Flying TunisAir & visiting Conakry - hard pass.
ICAO Doc 10086 recommends that information provided to passengers via safety briefings, announcements and safety demonstrations should be transmitted in the language of the operator and in English to promote appropriate communication with passengers.25 Sept 2018
Thanks Josh, your impact is real!
You should say that before you took tunisair in the time of the toughest lock down. So it was not a good reference
Great job Josh. Looking forward to watching your Air Peace return.
Just discovered your channel. A breath of fresh air! I so love your channel !😊
Tunisia airport was really a big challenge and chaos for me and for my colleagues.
Hi Josh,
If you're back in Europe, could you take a look at FSC airline AIS Airlines? They operate a Jetstream 31/32 on the routes from Esbjerg to Stavanger and Karup to Copenhagen. Perhaps you could plan a trip across Europe using only smaller regional carriers like AIS Airlines, Avanti Air, Aoroexpress Regional, Blue Express, etc.
Great video. Nice to see such a change.
Your vlogs are great & you always give an unbiased truthful opinion on all airlines.
Being German myself I do have to say that there are a lot of "FAKE" smiles out there . I would rather have no smile at all! You are wonderful! Thank you !
