    MPC 2000 AUTO CHOP
    1. make sure you have your sample selected
    2. shift + 6 to open the program menu.
    3. in programs hit f2 for parameters.
    4. highlight decay and hit open window.
    5. change the level to 0 and the start to 100 then close.
    6. while in programs change your overlap to "mono" or "note off"
    7. go to main screen and hit the sample u want to chop on "velocity" in the 16 levels mode. it's the button right under "full level" to the left of pad 1 then turn on.
    8. now u got chops.
    9. you can also tweak the chop start time by adjusting the start values.

    Thank you for the video. Once all the individual chops are laid out on the 16 pads, if you hear some of that "pop" noise on some of the pads (which is a result of a tiny fraction of the previous sample that was cut off) - can you make adjustments to the beginning point of the sample at this point? I hope I explained myself clearly. I am a newbie, as if you couldn't already tell. Thank you again.

    • @troybarnes7387
      @troybarnes7387 3 года назад +2

      If you don’t mind the length of the sample, just use the envelopes so take those ticks off
      Very useful for them

    • @weneedkapitol1013
      @weneedkapitol1013 2 года назад +1

      Hey David. Sorry for the long delay. Hopefully you figured it out, but if you haven't I have another video the explains that for you. ruclips.net/video/DOb0O0EiV6w/видео.html
      You can also go back into your trim screen and re-edit the start or end of the sample chop and it will transmit automatically to your program if you have already assigned those samples to pads.

    All my samples or overlapping and even when I change them into mono. The only way of stopping this is turn on note on. If there anyway I can get the samples to play without overlapping when I hit the pads?

    • @BobbyNuts17
      @BobbyNuts17 4 года назад

      You can only mute 2 pads. Hit program put it to mono, then « open window » on the « mono » section and then you can select the pads you want to cut

    Great video, thanks for sharing your information. Quick question, can this same method be done on the regular MPC2000 (base model)?

    • @Theaimsociety
      @Theaimsociety  8 лет назад

      +Ian Bailey I appreciate you watching. It really helps the channel grow. That's a good question. I don't have a MPC2000, but I'm pretty sure the process is different. I don't think the MPC2000 has this 'autochop' feature. I have seen other videos that can explain it, but I don't remember which ones specifically.
      tl;dr ... I don't think you can use this same feature on the MPC2000.

    How many chops if your loop is 1 bar ? And why didint you need to find the bpm on the loop ?

    • @Theaimsociety
      @Theaimsociety  7 лет назад +1

      Javier Perez The number of chops you make depends on how much control you want over the sample. If you want tiny pieces of the sample, chop into 16 chops, otherwise change the number of chops in the zone edit page to lesser.
      I didnt find the bpm of the sample because when I chop I usually do my drums first and make the sample fit the drums. That way, I only need to change the sample tempo to fit better with my drums instead of having to change my drums. It works easier for me that way, but if you want to find the tempo of the sample you can always sample a long section of it and tap the tempo out using the the tempo tap on the MPC.
      I hope I answered your questions. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!

  • @brucelee948
    @brucelee948 8 лет назад

    I did what you did but it didn't send the chopps to the pads it just auto chopped and was left in my sample list.. So I'm guessing I have to individually assign them

    • @Theaimsociety
      @Theaimsociety  8 лет назад

      If you selected "YES" on the sample edit "SLICE SOUND" screen where it says "Create New Program: YES", you should be able to go to your programs menu and a new program should be available there with the chops you selected distributed on the pads.
      Make sure you are in the correct pad bank when looking for your samples; they should be in Bank A.
      If you chose "NO" or accidentally moved the scroll wheel and it said "Create New Program: NO", then you will have to manually assign your samples. Try it one more time and see if you get the same result.
      Thanks for watching!

    Any hacks on how to get the BPM right after you got the chops set?

    • @Theaimsociety
      @Theaimsociety  5 лет назад

      I usually just play the samples to whatever tempo I want for the beat and time stretch them to fit afterwards of they need to be tweaked.
