This kicks more ass than anything that's ever kicked ass before, right after Snake Farm, Easy Money, and Were from Texas.... Well, you know the rest... Great stuff.
This is certainly a gem by Ray Wylie Hubbard ... a great Swampy, Greasy almost VooDoo style groove to it. The lineup of backing musicians couldn't be better. 😎😎😎😎 😎
I saw this song in a Austin city limits concert on PBS; The verse “you got to have some scars if you want to be a poet” grabbed at my brain and wouldn’t let go until i found this song. Thank you
Getting a little help from Joe Walsh, Ringo, Don Was, and Chris Robinson. Who would have thought it, Hubert turning out to be one of the all-time Greats? O Yeah, one hell of a Poet!! ThankZz for the Music! And Happy Fathers Day 6/21/20
To tell ya how Great Ray WH is, just look at the members of this band. Every single one of these musicians are at the top of Rock/Country/Blues for, at the very least, the last FIFTY YEARS...And, they all WANT to back up the "Total Outlaw" Ray Wylie Hubbard. These guys are the ones who everyone else is dying to get them on THEIR records. And yet here they are with "The Texas Blues Fallen Angel" his own bad self. I'd love to hear Ray do something with "The Reverend, Billy F. Gibbons!" THAT, would be an amazing collaboration (Oops, too big-a-word.) That'd be One H3LL of an "Unbridled Tejas Tornado!" The reason that artists of the caliber of these dudes want to play with Ray is 'cause he wants to play with THEM! The oh, so many miles that these guys have logged would cut a trench around the world...And, they're NOT done yet!!! BTW; I've been a huge fan of Joe and STILL think he's still one of the greatest guitar players...EVER! As for Ringo, What is there left to be said about "The Pope" of Rock N' Roll Beat Masters. So, there you go!!!
IT DODN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN JUST LOVE THIS MAN.
Fell asleep with the TV on and this song woke me up!! Yeah I'm a new fan💖🎶

I thought the drummer looked like Ringo Starr. Maybe it was the haircut. Then I saw in the Credits that it WAS Ringo. He must've dyed his hair. Cool.

This has to be Ray's best tune yet. Wow. Who is that lefty playing playing a right handed drum kit? Seems like I've seen him somewhere?
