Freddie’s P1 project is actually insane. To think about the amount of work it takes to make a custom harness for the whole car, let alone assemble the whole car, it’s just insanity. Big shoutout to Freddie
Completely agree! What is also insane is the amount of people (in his video comments) that give him grief for not having it finished yet. I dont think people realise how much time and especially money it would take to achieve what he is trying to achieve!
Mat rebuilt like 10 cars (including a flooded one) and tavarish has not finished the mclaren
I'm a big fan of you as well CJ!!
More like 30 cars rebuilt by mat
@@tujefaeslaroca3945 when you're rebuilding a car that they only made 375 of... there aren't a lot of spare parts around. Plus it needed an entire wiring harness, nose to tail, and left to right, top to bottom... It's going to take a while in that case. Everything for the P1 has to be bespoke because there are not any spares just lying around. like the custom clamshell and other custom carbon parts that had to be ordered, spec'ed and created from literally nothing.
I wish people would understand this. But the internet is gonna internet, and that's fine.
Whoever is in charge of marketing at the concourse club is a genius . Matt just made a great promotional video for them
@@charlesmaddox3859 Do you think he paid the $100,000? I don't. Matt is absolutely crushing it on RUclips and Concourse would love to " Comp" him and his crew to advertise to Matt's huge audience. Makes total business sense right?
Mat gets so many views, it just made sense i suppose.
As a retired professional touring musician, I always loved playing in Florida. I don’t care for the flying roaches. Snakes don’t scare me, but I lived in Vegas for 30 years, so scorpions, black widow, tarantulas, and giant bugs. You definitely put your shoes on the dresser, not on the floor.
@BluemanDrummer I spent 1 year travelling around Australia in an old ambulance. Got plenty of stories about poisonous nasties including Mozzies carrying Dengue fever. Oz has it all man
Wasn't that the whole point in the first place.
Hey Matt,
I've been watching your videos for a long time now and really admire everything you’ve built - not just the cars, but the journey, the graft, the laughs, and that unmistakable British charm you bring to it all.
I heard you're thinking about splitting your time between the UK and Miami and even setting up a shop there. That’s an exciting step and I genuinely wish you the best of luck with it. But I just wanted to say - please don’t lose what makes you you in the process.
As a Canadian, I get the British sensibilities - the dry humour, the humility, the quiet pride in doing things properly. It’s something that’s always stood out in your videos and made them a cut above. You’ve stayed grounded while achieving big things, and that’s rare. Don’t let the Miami flash or the Florida crowd (you know the type I mean…) chip away at that authenticity.
You’re not just building cars - you’re building a community, and we love you for being real. Keep flying that British flag high, mate. We’re proud of you.
All the best,
Shaun Grover
Agreed, I live down here. It happens to the best of them.. One min your on private jets and telling lambo boat guy to call you, the next well…..
I hope he keeps his head above water per say. I’ve watched him for a few years, in that short time he has build an amazing life…
Unfortunately he doesn’t see the dirty side of Miami because he doesn’t live here. Miami is ROUGH. Everyone loves it with horse blinders on. There is a reason Freddie lives where he does. Personally I’m happiest far from a major city. I wish Mat the best. I just hope it’s not too much too fast, that’s all.
...wise words!
Mat is sucking the Elite bamboozle... remember...
Small is Sweet!
Well that was boring!
Beautifully said! It’s not just about the cars - it’s the journey, relentless effort, and Freddie’s unique spirit that truly inspire. This isn’t just car building - it’s living, breathing passion and craftsmanship.
I also really hope he's been considering also the tax implications of doing this, and potential issues with the views of the current administration.
So great for Tony to have these experience's. Probably worked so hard all his life. And now his son is giving him all his wildest dreams!
It's the best thing about Mat's content for me, seeing him take his friends and family on the journey. Just good 'normal' people getting to do some really cool sh*t!
@@paulhancock exactly 💯 mate
I love that you take your dad with you everywhere. I’m sure he’s so appreciative of you! You guys put in the hard work and it surely pays off.
To be quite honest do you think Hannah maybe not so much his Dad would have let him go to Miami without them?
❤ 1:57
His dad is the secret protagonist lol
Forget the same new high cost builds Matt you’re the king of that, do a cool 80,’s 90’s restomod euro oem+ build and show us what you’ve learnt over these years we’ve been watching you
Yeah, my favorite channel today is the m539 , where he go crazy restoring the BMW’s ( and a maserati sometimes 😂) so he get lots of neglected cool cars and restore to perfection
Yeeees, that would honestly be so cool to watch
No that would be boring
Would be better (easier) in Europe or UK don't you think?
He would need to have a part time fabricator at the very least he's done parts replacing but any fabrication needs have been done by another shop
It’s crazy to see how mats knowledge on all sorts of cars has progressed through this YT life… it’s been a great ride so far just to even watch along.
It’s been one hell of a journey it’s hard to step the level up each time 😅

You've got the best Dad Mat!!! I love that old man, I could spend time with him with his humility...
For many years my Sunday evening were the highlight of the week, looking forward to Top Gear however since the terrible demise of the famous tv show, there has been a void.
MASSIVE THANKS TO YOU MAT, TONY AND THE TEAM FOR ONCE AGAIN PROVIDING MY SUNDAY HIGHLIGHT
I miss Top gear because of the humour. This doesn’t quite match that, but a good second best.
Would love to see Matt have a shop in the USA. Even though he’s younger than me, I look up to his constant optimism. Even when things are bad, he always laughs and smiles. I’m the same way; almost never in a bad mood.
He’s also a good man to his wife, father and friends. This is the kind of kid I want my kids to look up to. He worked so hard to get where he is and he’s not stopping and resting on his laurels.
Best of Luck Mat. If you ever want to rip through the tunnels up here in Pittsburgh, come on up. My little X3 M40i is fun in them. Then you can drive my new super duty diesel too!
Those bumps in the back are some regulations that the bumper needs to be a certain length andd acts like a crumping zone. In order to keep the design, manufacturers just simply add those blocks and somehow “legally” bypass the regulation. In older cars, they simply had longer bumpers. This is how i tell if old german cars are US spec or not sometimes. Im from EU and learned this some time ago haha
Also another interesting case is with frunks, some cars have dividers so the space is divided to not meet the legal size that requires a hood release for kidnappings. US is another planet sometimes i swear
M Thoughts bumper'ettes on the Aston Martin 5 mph crash test with zero damage. .
Huh never seen those bumps. Guess I live in a place too poor lol
I thought they were lights since most if not all US states require your license to be illuminated
@@Alex-zi1nb maybe not all states have the same regulations. I dont really know US laws…
@@justindavis5070 thats another regulation that applies everywhere and the lights sit above the plate inside the bumper

Hi Mat, I repair accident damaged cars for a living too. I’ve seen similar issues with gear selection not working on Mercedes vehicles after voltage issues. Simply holding both gear selector paddles down for about 30 seconds with the handbrake engaged has allowed the modules to relearn and engage gear selection.
All of my car channels have turned into Super Car channels now, can't relate to any of that, but I like Mat and the team, the only reason I keep watching.
Yeah kinda like wealth porn, Matt is an entertaining presenter but going down the exotic car route for content is finite
Totally agree
Agree saving salvage for the content. Getting feckin silly now, interesting to watch but not relatable at all.
Agree also, it used to be very inspiring to watch Mat build some what affordable cars, Very much enjoyed watching the Audi’s, BMW’s, Mercs, Nissan, not the super cars that the majority of people will never afford.
Level up bro 😂
1 minute in and Mat already have a new project in his sights. Man you are just inspirational with your passion of what you are doing.
I’m sure there’s a bunch of people worldwide who have the ability to rebuild a hyper car like Freddie’s P1 but wouldn’t have the drive to continue the project to actually complete it like Freddie is doing so huge props and I can’t wait to see the final result. He’s gonna break the exotic car community on RUclips when he uploads the final episode of the P1 build as he deserves millions of views after the amount of work from start to finish.
Big fan of that coach. Seemed like a genuine guy
he was an absolute dude
I'd love to see more 'down to earth' builds, like the Audi R8 you've got going on. Maybe a classic slammed late 80's BMW M5 or something different like that.
Love the channel. Been watching for years, but most recent batch of cars are almost too good! The Lamborghini Revoltingo and Rolls Royces just doesn't get the juices flowing the same way.
😂😂yeah I agree… for example Alex from Legit street cars’ channel…
Like make a challenge out of it take 5 crash damaged not super luxery cars and see how fast you can repair all 5 and then give them away or something. All 5 cars and repairs would cost less than one of the super luxery cars, and could just be a really cool vid. (Saying this as someone from South Africa that can't even enter the giveaways) just something about a car I could maybe repair one day vs a super luxery. Either way love the vids
The channels are getting a bit boujee for sure 😂
Come out to Utah and do up my ‘97 Mitsubishi Eclipse! 😂
Mat has a BMW 6 series being built/restored by Yorkshire Car Restoration -- it's been there a few years. Body was badly rotten.
I started watching Mats channel back in the day when he was struggling and building something. It has been great watching him grow as a person and his business.
With that being said, it’s harder and harder to relate as the struggle now isn’t that much of a struggle anymore when you can just buy that 10k£ piece of kit that’s missing. It’s become more of a car assembly channel.
I found myself skipping parts of this video, which was a first! I’ll keep watching, but some of those early years of magic has somewhat dispersed.
Wishing you all the best Mat!
I’m afraid I agree with you, chrisfix is doing great.
He has paid his dues... he has become successful bcoz that's what you call growth. To find stagnation relatable is diabolical 😂😂😂
Matt, you are one of the best filmers because your comments are perfectly timed, and never comes across like you want it to be your channel. Always interesting and tasteful. Mat, your channel is brilliant with the team you have. No egos, no BS, just a good group of people.
Well for me, the MK2 channel just beat MK1. Smiling from ear to ear. More of this!
Nope lol. 1st channel is king
No pressure but marry that Hanna lady bruv , she's been in your corner a bit .From Audi TT rebuilds to now respect to y'all mad love and keep killing it HWBT
Mat. I watch your videos since a while already and i have to say im here for your personality. Cars are just a nice bonus. So in my opinion you dont have to buy the craziset newest cars possible. Why not revisiting your humble beginning. Or why not doing a classic restoration. Just an idea
Would love some classic restorations also! Its generally more work tho, rust, snapped bolts etc can be more labour intensive than crashed cars!
I swear SF90 would be crazy
And 100% Italian instead of Lamborghini.

6:36 it’s stupid US regulations that require us to have those license plate bumpers so when you get rear ended the plate isn’t the first thing that gets smashed. It’s dumb
Living in Florida and watching a foreigner become amazed over our trucks is fascinating to say the least.
Our roads aren’t built for trucks like this. Would be a nightmare to park.
lol they just wouldn’t work in Europe. It amused me when I was in Canada, seeing 6.3 diesel trucks that had ECO written on them 😂 how is anything with a 6.3 eco diesel written on it actually anything to do with being either economical or eco friendly it’s insane
Those trucks are nationwide, chief. He just happened to be in Florida. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not, at all, a Florida thing...

Mat, it's a " No-Brainer" to establish a shop in Florida...it's the epicenter of the RUclips community !
He would have to basically move there then, which actually would not be a bad thing, since the UK is a terrible place to live in. No chance he could comfortably constantly fly back and forth otherwise, since he is also the face of the channel.
