Takuru reduced Serika to something as worthless as a common person. Worse, he abandoned his powers without fully knowing their potential. If you can create a whole person, why not fix one that was taken from the world too soon ? Serika might have been a psychopath, but she was right about one thing. How can we live with ourselves ? So lost ? She was a child, but at least she was honest. It beats being a lying adult. A third scenario must be found.
Has anybody already read this crossover between "Youjo Senki" and "The Last Airbander" (series) ? It's REALLY good ! It's only at the begining, but so far, it's incredibly well written and the characters correspond to their canon counterparts. It's called "Tanya the Firebender".
It's seriously good, I love the way Tanya is written in it, in general, I'm very impressed with how well they captured all the characters and seeing Tanya's impact on others, and ATLA is such a fun world to flesh out the military conflict, There's also a great cross-over with Bleach, that captures Tanya very well.
This song is actually the opposite of what Tanya actually is right now. So this could either simply be what people see her as, or this is foreshadowing of what she will become.
I am obessessed with "Youjo Senki" to the point in which I try to relate it to anything else I like. "Demon Slayer" is no different. Well, there is one difference. I choose to relate these two throught a fanfic scenario. It goes like this. Tanya has a mission in her own version of Japan. It appears someone or something is manipulating the country to go to war. Problem is, it is rumored to be unnatural. A division of Japan's government asked especifically for Tanya's squad to investigate this conspiracy, that in return, they might consider join the Empire as allies in the war effort in order to balance the scales on the upcoming world war. What Tanya didn't realize however, is that the people manipulating the country are actually demons and demons'worshipers. Worse, the people who contacted the Empire belong actually to a cult that worshipes Being X, who tricked them into believing Tanya was actually a demon who existed outside Japan. Being X's goal was to have Tanya confront Tanjiro. The motivation for Tanjiro to try to kill Tanya ? Well, first of all, when he smells her, he does notice something isn't right with her. Second, Tanya discovers Nezuko is a demon, and after hearing of how she defeated a demon with superior powers during an insanity moment, she informs the HQ of this, and they come to the conclusion she must be a demon in development (they would only know about demons throught scarce and damaged history and folklore sources) and order her to destroy the girl before she becomes a problem in the future, since she might develop during the war.
Let's be real, that's not going to happen. The Demon Slayer Corps is very loose in all this, seeing as how they let Nezuko slip by for YEARS. The most likely scenario is Tanya would understand that demons are detrimental to peace, and therefore they must be eliminated. On the other hand, demons are incredibly powerful, a useful tool by her standards. She'd try to find a way that doesn't put an end to demons, but rather humanizes them, forcing them out of their animalistic instincts to make use out of them. And so would begin an alliance. Which eventually, demons would become the new humans. Everyone would live however long they wanted to, not worrying about hunger, nor water. It would be a true peace where people did not have to grow anymore. And so ends the evolutionary cycle of humanity. No necessities, everyone has what they want. And Tanya can go about their day constantly trying to improve everything like they always do. Finding more room in space for people to live, as humanity expands to the edges of the universe, as well as beyond. By that time, Tanya would be more than powerful enough to kill Being X herself. Although, there could be a different ending where Being X finally accepts his loss to Tanya's ideals, and agrees to never infringe on another's free will again. And at last, a truly happy ending that everyone can enjoy.
