Probably most of us are watching this on our phones so it's better for us to see what you're doing when you exaggerate the actions thanks I'm learning a tonn ❤
You explained this so well. I have a greater understanding of color grading. I was missing so much. Thank you. Continue the great work. Can you do a video on custom white balance?
Thanks a lot for this video 😃 First, I thought that I know all about Color Grading but then you showed that you can make a sample of colour which blew my mind 😅
I've always been a bit nervous about using these tools purely because I didn't know what they actually did! I've just applied this to some recent images and the difference is amazing. Thanks Mark 👍
Mark, how did we ever get along without your professional and expert knowledge? I’m totally floored and amazed at your years of experience and expertise!
In the second photo: would using the sky selection (+ brush the house and maybe the side of the cliff) and change the colour from there not be a better alternative to avoid changing the colour of the water? The midtones trick is a very good tip!
This was the best explanation of color grading that I have heard or seen. I have never used CG'ing because of that but, I will now!! Thanks Mark for all you do for us!!
these tutorials are amazing. Tried using these several times and hated the results and then forgot about them. Cant wait till my next photo outing to try this
Duo Mode - I like to do color work with both Color Mixer and Color Grading open at the same time. In Solo mode, with one panel open, just Ctrl+Click on the disclosure arrow of the second panel to have both panels open.
Whoa! I took a photo from that EXACT spot with the almost EXACT perspective as your first one back in 2022! Stoked to see I'm framing my shots just like you! Now I just need to get on your level of grading :)
Wow, amazing video sir. I've always wondered how to do exactly what you showed in the video with my sunsets. I've used the masking tool and made a radial gradient to try and warm up the sky some around the sun but that's a very limited solution since you can only warm up or cool down the selection or add green or magenta. What you showed is far more powerful and natural looking than what I've been doing. Now I'm going to have to go back and re-edit a lot of my old photos and see how much better I can make them with the steps you showed today.
Hi Mark, I took an class to explore my z8 when it came out. The instructor, a decently famous street photographer, answered a bunch of my questions and kind of made it a point to say that when I'm camera, have the histogram to be as far right without being blown out. However, like you, I kind of prefer the look and highlights when I underexpose. Can you answer why you do it that way. It's it just a preference, or do you have a specific reason? Thank you for your awesome video
I enjoyed your tutorial. I attempted to do it on my computer but I don't have access to the square which enables the color picker. I have lightroom classic in windows. Do I need additional access. I also have lightroom version 13.4 Thanks
This maybe a basic question but one I have not seen anyone walk through how they upload and store their photos. If you have a video that does please send me the link. I have an IMac and when you upload your phones whether its from a camera or your phone on an IMac it automatically puts your photos in IPhoto. How do you upload your photos to an IMac? Do you use IPhoto to catalog and store your photos and then import the photos you want to lightroom or do you upload all of your photos to lightroom and store / catalog them there?
Hi Mark, and actually, anyone that might be able to help me in the comments? This is absolutely doing my head in, but I cannot see that small square in the Color Grading panel at all. The square to pick the colour dropper etc. It's simply just not in my version of ACR/Lightroom. Is there something you have to do in set-up or something to get it there? As suggested above, I don't actually use Lightrooom and do everything in Adobe Camera Raw instead, which I believe is almost identical? But to be sure, I opened up Lightroom just to check, and it wasn't there either. Unless, lightbulb moment just occurred... is it only available in Lightroom Classic, which I don't actually even have installed? Is that it? And if it is, why is it only available there, but not in ACR, or even Lightroom (non-Classic)? This tool would be a game-changer for me as I don't use it otherwise, but definitely would if I could actively select actual colours from the photo. Thanks for any help!!!
Probably most of us are watching this on our phones so it's better for us to see what you're doing when you exaggerate the actions thanks I'm learning a tonn ❤
You are a fantastic teacher. I have learned so much from you. Keep on creating.🙌

Thanks a lot for this video 😃 First, I thought that I know all about Color Grading but then you showed that you can make a sample of colour which blew my mind 😅
Thank you, Mark. Another one of your best videos! How can I remember to put them all into practice?
best explanation- unlocked colour grading. thank you.
I've always been a bit nervous about using these tools purely because I didn't know what they actually did! I've just applied this to some recent images and the difference is amazing. Thanks Mark 👍
Informative, thank you
I’ve been experimenting with this doing beach portraits. Thank for taking your valuable time to make this video!
Great video! Thank you

Really a great video, Mark. I really enjoy learning from you. It was a great help and very informative. Thank you.
Really appreciate this - thank you!
Mark, Thanks for this lesson. I've always avoided the Color Grading wheels because I didn't fully understand how they worked. Now I do!
That was brilliant! I've been struggling with colour grading my photos so this was super useful thanks a million!!
Thanks for a great lesson!
In the second photo: would using the sky selection (+ brush the house and maybe the side of the cliff) and change the colour from there not be a better alternative to avoid changing the colour of the water?
The midtones trick is a very good tip!
I have always had little success with colour grading, but this has really helped. Thank you so much for sharing Mark!
This was the best explanation of color grading that I have heard or seen. I have never used CG'ing because of that but, I will now!!
Thanks Mark for all you do for us!!
Thank you Mark. I learned something new today. You rock my friend.
Thanks a million!
I’m so glad you covered this because I had no idea, yet many questions about this area of LR
these tutorials are amazing. Tried using these several times and hated the results and then forgot about them. Cant wait till my next photo outing to try this
Oh dear... Another new skill I've been wanting to learn explained so well! Marked for watch later too, a lot to take in, thanks Mark, excellent.
Thanks for your explanation. That was pretty helpful!
Best color grading ive seen, ready to try it again!
Thanks Mark.
This is a reveal of the secret of color grading. Thanks mark
Great video Mark. You just taught me how to use Color Grading panel. Thank you
Always great listening to you Mark brilliant info and easily explained 👏 will be putting that to good use
Love it - thanks Colin!

Another great one! Thanks Mark.
It is interesting how despite the light being warm the shadows are cold. That is crazy. Nice tutorial.
OMG - I had no idea you could do this in the color grading with the eye dropper! Game changer for me!
Glad you enjoyed it!
As always, great video and really useful tip. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!
Thanks Mark- super helpful.
Great to hear - thank you!
I color grade a lot, and I can't believe I never knew about/noticed the eye dropper tool! Thanks for the tips!!
Great video. Thank you. I've learned a lot from it
Solo mode! I went to subscribe, but evidently I already had! Great channel, glad I found it.... again
Whoa! I took a photo from that EXACT spot with the almost EXACT perspective as your first one back in 2022! Stoked to see I'm framing my shots just like you! Now I just need to get on your level of grading :)
Nice! I didn't even know about the eyedropper technique when color grading :)
Thank you. I appreciate these tips.
I love learning about the hidden aspects of Lightroom during lunch :) . Great lesson, thank you.
Love it - thank you!
Thanks for that lesson - I didn't use the color picker (and the sliders) so far, only the color wheel. This will definitely change 👍
Glad to do it!
Thank you! I rarely used the color grading tool because I didn‘t know how. That‘s going to change now thanks to you
Another fantastic video! Thank you!
Thanks Steve!
Thank you for always keeping it simple and easy to follow. Much appreciated.
Can you do an Ansel Adams style B&W video tutorial one day??
Thank you!!!
Excellent
Great tip, I didn't realize that function was there. I'll certainly use it in the near future.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I love the colour grading tool but sometimes struggle to find the right colors to use. The pipe tote will be a game changer.

Used it tonight!
Fantastico muchas gracias

ThX man
Nice!

Game changer.
Thanks Roger - really appreciate it my friend!
@@MarkDenneyPhoto Wish I were in the Highlands with you right now. Last year's visit wasn't enough! It's fantastic.
Is that an avata 2. How about an image quality (usability) review? We all know it flies great.😊
Great Video. Learned a lot
Thanks David!
Thanks!
I noticed you kept the saturation at 100%. Can you decrease it since you were only going to 100% to better view the affected areas?
NIce job.
Thanks!
Is the eye dropper not available LR cc? Only Classic?

Can you please make a tutorial on how to photograph a chaotic scene ( e,g. An accident, )?
I'm using ACR , but cannot find the color square and eyedropper from 3:10 to 3:55 in this video. ACR is about the same as Lightroom.
Is this in LR Classic? Mine doesnt have th saturation slider.

Thanks for this lesson! I have gotten away from using colour grading, but this is a lesson on how powerful it can be when used thoughtfully.
How do you feel about Adobe using your images for Ai learning without your permission? I would enjoy hearing your opinion and thoughts in a video.
Color grading is my weakest link with LR. Do you ever grade your shadows?
