    • @Bitshitter
      @Bitshitter 2 года назад +1

      There is a fiber of argument that after Espinoza-Hunter passed away the ball, that #2 for Creighton clung to her right arm, and that in the act of freeing her right arm from that, she inadvertently swung back her right elbow into the defender's face. I don't think that's what happened, and it looks like to me it was intentional, but the argument could be made there for that......

    • @slylockfox85
      @slylockfox85 2 года назад +2

      I wouldn't say "never." Sometimes a defender will pin your arm in the post and you will swing it to free it. That's not what I think happened here, but the arm swinging does occur, particularly if you are getting fronted in the post and you try to do a "step-around" where you try to establish position in front of the defender.
      I think it was a dirty play though. The tell is the way the offensive player tried to play it off like she didn't do anything after contact was made. Women actually pull this crap pretty regularly (sneaking elbows). When I was a freshman in high school, we would scrimmage the girls varsity team and they would routinely elbow me in the chest in the post. They were weak though so it didn't bother me. Men actually play a much cleaner game in that regard because it would be a fight if men pulled this dirty stuff.

    • @anthonyhall7623
      @anthonyhall7623 2 года назад

      The fact that the SH player didn’t obviously “load” or “wind up” is likely what saved her from a flagrant foul w/ejection. But, this wasn’t a player making a basketball move or trying to untangle herself whose elbow just happened to connect. This isn’t Steve Urkel “did I do that.”

    No such thing as F1 and F2 in women’s college basketball! It is either intentional or flagrant (ejection)

    i just don't understand how three division one ncaa referees can be this cowardly. the initial call should have been made and enforced immediately: flagrant foul with technical (F2) and ejection. if you can't make this call immediately and decisively, then you shouldn't be there. just sayin'...

    • @jeffsweeney8785
      @jeffsweeney8785 2 года назад

      Agree, horrible no call because they don't want to possibly effect outcome. Well that BS she knew what she was doing. She knew the referee's are weak and unable to control the game effectively.

    I get so tired of ripping refs when they actually get calls. Yes it took review but there isn't one fanboy or fangirl on this thread that wouldn't miss things as well if they refereed. Go get yourself signed up and ref yourself. It will take you about one week before you realize and say to yourself, "holy crap, I had no idea about refereeing games."

    The absolute "worst" officiating is in women's college basketball-no calls-phantom calls-still don't know the difference between a charge and a block-allowing the game to become way too physical-the game is for the athletes

    Bad mechanics, the ball is the center of attention and you move your eyes in your perimeter, Leader is Men's Ref and Trail is Ball's Ref, Center helps both and covers its perimeter! This play was supposed to be watched by all 3 on that order L, T and C . . .D for the elbow!
