This is basically how the country was meant to operate. Power was supposed to be at the state and local levels. States were supposed to govern their own people and make their own decisions independent of the federal government. The federal government was supposed to provide (limited) oversight, protect our rights, and provide safety

Even now how we see the president as the "Leader" of the nation, when his role is more of "overseeing", except we gave him the power to command the military.

To add to that. Government was never meant to control all of our money either but it seems after generations of greed from our leaders who pick away piece by piece at the very economy we built for ourselves. Putting our hard earned money right into their own families pockets AS IF WE OWE THEM SOMETHING?! I mean seriously. Think about it. At some point a man sitting behind a desk, with clean hands, decides he oughta be worth more than the average working citizen, not because he works harder than them, just because his name has a title next to it. He’s “special”. Typically the leader in any kind of group is the last one to eat. Not the first, let alone the second third and fourth.. until there’s nothing but crumbs left for us working people, the same working people who get up every single day and agree to uphold this blatantly biased system that only benefits those above us. Congrats! you worked 50 hours of hard labour this week, just so the government can pay an overweight white man, who does nothing for you, twice as much. He also gets more vacation days than you, apparently getting home at 3 o’clock everyday isn’t enough vacation?? Geez I sure thought it was!

I also think Florida would become its own country. As for the rest I think certain states would group together culturally. You’d have your Rocky Mountain states, Midwest states, desert sw states, Appalachian states, New England states, etc. I’m sure things wouldn’t get cut perfectly at state lines either as geographically and culturally states aren’t always perfectly consistent.

states which have received more in federal funding than they pay in taxes (like california, Dakotas, alabama, etc) would be hurt but states which have always received less in benefits than they paid in taxes (like texas, colorado, alaska, etc) would benefit and actually get a surplus in a way, have more money to spend on their own people. Additionally, I'd assume that the military would just serve for the state they are from (that's how it was at the last civil war) so Texas and california would each get about 1/3 of the current military, and the rest would be divided into the states they are from

we say this but places like Monaco exist etc. The reality is is that we really do not know what that scenario would realistically look like. You are probably likely to see some coalitions of states, but you are also likely to see some states just bully others into submission due to culture war, economics, etc. We really do not know. NY is a perfect example, as in the state itself there are 3 distinct cultural, political, and economic regions that already have tons of static and infighting, magnify that to the entirety of the north east and it is insane. Economic deals etc is all a MASSIVE balancing act already when we all are in the same country with the same legal framework and all want to cooperate, if we were to have to fight over resources as separate entities it would go bad quick.

Ironically, 50 separate state governments is actually how the country was originally designed to be, lol

I love the idea of going back to state sovereignty. This federal government is completely out of control and should be dismantled. Give it back to the states. I'm with you 100%.

When you say we, you are referring to you and who I am not dumb. Not even in the slightest, my friend.
You should work on You're Self-esteem, don't call yourself dumb. Maybe you are ignorant, you know, Mentally lazy, misguided. Listening to other people instead of listening to yourself. But to call yourself dumb is not fair to your soul. Remember that next time you are having problems with your self-esteem, God bless you. Fight the power, don't feed into it.

The people that are talking about seperating being a good idea are idiots. With that logic you would have been a confederate if you lived in early america

Stupid idea. We the People of The United States must stay strong together United. Everyone from these political podcasts especially on the internet thinks The United States is Divided but IRL & in the Real World we’re more United than ever. I know our system isn’t perfect and it could use some improvements in some areas of the government. But we Americans we live like Kings & Queens compared to other places in the world today. Lady Liberty we love you and thank you for everything 🇺🇸🤘🏻

Have you read the Declaration of Independence? Any American Who thinks this country was not built on the right to secede has not done their homework. It is considered a God-given right for people to abolish their government, and establish a new form of government for such a little reason as the pursuit of happiness

The country is being deliberately divided by the media and certain powers with an agenda but it’s working less and less on people. The way the country is going right now it won’t survive another 4 years of this.

If the US splits then it would be captured by China and Russia in no time. They are already working towards that goal.
