As a brass musician who started playing cornet at an early age in the Salvation Army before going on to study & play trumpet, this performance moved me to tears. Refreshingly innovative with interpretation & instrumentation, whilst demonstrating great artistry throughout the whole ensemble. Loved it…. Thank you…….

Superb clarity. Well played! And it's nice to see a band immaculately turned out (from and old fashioned 83 year old)

I would give a particular body part to be able to play in an ensemble like this! Outstanding.

Interesting to hear a very different interpretation to those usually heard (which are generally similar to that of the ISB, for whom it was written). Really enjoyed that, thanks. Shame we could barely hear the Euph soloist in the middle section.

Use of Fr. horns replacing tenor/baritone horns works a treat. Also supplementing the cornets with various types of trumpets. The strict Bb/Eb formula has limitations.

Maybe a nudge to the great British Brass Band community that they should keep an open mind about the instrumentation they insist on. Trumpets and french horns aren't from the devil. Sometimes to continue a great tradition, you have to be prepared to experiment and be a bit flexible.

Lovely to here the french horns in this version. A different take on the traditional brass band with such power, grace and musicality - loved it. The quiet sections are so serene and slow.
