Dubstep and EDM in genshin seem to be reserved for anything Abyss related. Both genres sound "out of this world" so i say they fit perfectly for a whale that came from the outside world

@@Roma_Romanee-ContiDude this abyss theme is literally in the same style as another abyss Boss theme composed by Yu-pen Chen, Marana's Avatar.
If you are such a fan of Yu-pen Chen, then maybe you will hear literally his own words about how well he thinks about the Hoyo-Mix composers and expects awesome themes from them because he knows that they are no worse than him.

Dumbass, this dubstep is already liked by millions of users, even non-players. This is super cool given the shadow we fight and the dark theme, the music fits perfectly.
generally speaking, this game has some of the dopest boss music of all time.
If I had to describe this track in one word, it would be "Apocalyptic." The first part sounds like the world is ending, and the second part is the sheer *wrongness* of the aftermath.
Absolutely LOVE this song. The use of dubstep to make it give the impression of a whale sound and clicks like a narwhal/dolphin at least what I think of listening. The expectation of a drop only for it to drop offbeat is so cool (I love the sword analogy)
The OST in 2nd phase is just....OTHERWORLDLY.
Here is the thing, was really a 2nd phase tho
Lorewise, the whale isn’t even apart of the video game planet, unlike other bosses where you can clearly distinguish it’s cultural influence. That’s probably why it uses dubstep, a sound found basically nowhere else in the game.
No the OST is just bad, and with no identity, because it's an entirely new composer

Genshin's OST comes from the studio HOYO-MiX, and the main composer Yu-Peng Chen (陈致逸) left the company to work on his solo career.
Most of Fontaine tracks were composed by Dimeng Yuan (苑迪萌) although I am not sure if this one is included too.
Edit: Talking about the difference in composers, I am not going to enter the _one is better than the other_ debate.
I love to see new people experiencing genshin related content. The artistry in the game is unreal. You should check out some of the character demos. The music is incredible
Its title is "Visitor from the far side of the Sea of Stars." It comes from the primordial sea. Said to be the purest origin of all things. It is the "pet" of a mysteriouse person/being called surtalogi or "The Foul."
6:54 That is a being only know as "The Shadow" you fight it after being swallowed by the Whale.
It does not come from the primordial sea. It comes from beyond the world itself, in order to devour the primordial sea.
NGL when I say that this is by far the best self made intro I've ever seen so far.

Love this song, especially during the fight as it just totally fits the boss and the environment.
The Shadow Phase is my 2nd favorite Genshin track, First being Polumnia Omnia
The more i listen to the Narwhal theme the more i think that there is a strong inspiration from any of the Star Wars scores made by Jhon Williams
