The weight this carries today is more than I want to realize. The people only have one chance to effectively stand their ground and make their voices heard as one. But people are afraid to lose what they have, once they lose everything then it’ll be too late to make a stand.
The people had their chance back in 1860. Since then, the willingness to fight has been more or less either snuffed out or bred out of existence. We've lost so much and don't even care. Civilization has defeated us.

Whether it be infighting, different ideologies, different enemies, fear, uncertainty, different points of view...end of the day its up to us all to take charge of our own life's or we will continue to be a cog in the corrupt 1:32 1:32 system, guilt free of the damage we cause by being silent and unmoving, watching as our fellow man be cast aside and treated inhumanly frightened that it could be us next If we speak up... Everyone always thinks the fight is won on the battlefield or in the streets ..but to get there the battle withing your mind..your very soul must be won. If you want change go out and fight for it...but just make sure before you do you've accepted that your willing to die for it.. or you will never see it.

I've often wondered about that... but then again, I noticed that each of those symbols that they refer to are destroyed before the end of the film (ie, the last domino piece, the clock tower, the masks being removed during the explosion of the Parliament, etc). Hope that helped. =)

There are many more provocative movies, however I doubt even those people with a vested interest would allow this to be a hit film these days. We have a situation where there is an active force seeking to deride and break down personal freedoms, moral normality as a whole, the family unit as a strength, and to put us on the back foot, where we need to earn social credit under the jackboot of a new order.
In a way, he IS telling us to remember the 11th of September--and not lose ourselves as a freedom-loving people in a mad scramble to secure our safety. This speech--taken verbatim from a comic written clear back in the 80s, during a very similar time of uncertainty in the UK (with the USA and the Soviets seconds away at any moment from launching nuclear war all over Europe) was calling on people to enforce their own rule over the government and not give in to fear mongering and govt. control.
Hugo Weaving just destroyed this role, his voice performance was simply captivating throughout.
