Brings tears to my eyes..I remember J.F.K's visit to Ireland...I also remember this great ballad being played as the great Wexford Hurling Team's marched behind the Artane Boys Band winning the greatest prize on earth...The All Ireland Hurling Final.
The story is that JFK was on a tight schedule and being shepherded from appearance to appearance. These children sang the first verse and the adults were ushering them out when Jack called out and asked them to sing the next two verses and he sang along with them.....
That would bring a tear to a glass eye ❤❤
From country Wexford, the john Barry statue on Wexford town quay that I pass by twice a day 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
