    I made your singapore noodles last night and they were so good, making them again tonight also finaly had a clean wok at the end of cooking no sticking noodles yay, i didn't use a towel to dry them though i kept lifting them out of the colander til dry worked great, anyway back to the point, in the store this morning when i picked up more rice noodles they had steak on sale so going to make this hunan beef tonight to :) thx for a Great show means alot !!! p.s the noodles are so simple there is hardly any cleanup just wok,cutting board,a plate,an rinse the colander couldn't be easier an my wok is 40 yrs old almost cleans itself after all that scrubbing with steel wool looks like a mirror

    Recipe looks delicious, but about half Hunan. Maybe some folks from Guangdong or America came up to help? And, Don’t know why everyone is commenting about Human. Kind of rude.

    Thanks for saying this dish from Hunan province😂😂, just want to say we really don’t have this dish in Hunan province 🤣!
    I think the reason it called Hunan dish is because it taste hot and spicy, yes we love chilis, we put a lot fresh chili in our dish! One thing need to mention we barely use dry chili but use fresh chili more often! Thanks 🙏

    I made this and am devouring it at this very moment! I didn't have beef so I used chicken thighs. It is utterly divine!! Wish I could send a pic of this. Thank you for this fab recipe and all the others. Could have been spicier for me 😉😁

    Always used to order Pork or Beef with veggies and Hunan sauce. I never knew what it was, but always like it. Not deep fried like orange or sweet and sour chicken/pork. Sauce was sweet and spicy, but not too dark.
    Upon review of this recipe... I don't think I had a proper Hunan dish...

    I have to say that this looks much healthier than western dietary staples. Chinese : minimal meats, maximum veggies. Fabulous.

    Jeremy, Is there a big difference between soy sauces? I've been using Kikkoman because that's what my local super market caries, but I went to an Asian market and they carried many other brands, some very expensive compared to what I have been using. thank you

      There actually is a difference in taste and quality. I started cooking with the lee kum kee brand soy sauce and I'll never go back to any other.

      @@SchoolofWok I finally got to make it and it is fantastic. I used a different brand of chilli oil and striploin instead of rib eye (the striploin looked better) as well as sichuan pepper. I also needed more sugar to balance the sauce.
      Quite a challenge to master but fantastic dish.

    Glad you have the cumin in this recipe with the ginger, garlic, onions and chili. The cumin is what makes it 'Hunan' style. Your knife skills are impressive!!

      Hmm usually hunan cuisine is about fresh chilies (Sichuan is more into dried chilies) along with pickled chilies, pickled vegetables and fermented black beans

      Yes. It's because he's recooking the meat which should be fine as long as it reaches the appropriate temperature.
