    This one of the best depictions I’ve seen of a protagonist realistically and believable beating someone who’s a more skilled fighter. Hood is outclassed in fighting prowess but he makes up for it in strategy and sheer brutality

    • @trask9100
      @trask9100 2 года назад +340

      Yup, a perfect example of the idea that there are no rules in a real world fight. There is no honor, its just who wants to survive more. Hood was completely out skilled here, but he had the will to do what he needed to in order to ensure he won, the other guy didn't. In real life, the person who is more brutal and goes for the most violent option, typically wins.

      In order to do a realistic Wolverine and not keep it as Halloween tropish kind of thing, he needs to be visceral and grotesque. The kind of character completely immersed in the violence and Gore that he creates.

    I really appreciate the dichotomy of this scene; When they're in the ring, where rules apply, Hood is no match for him. However, the moment they get out of the ring, it becomes a real street fight and rules are out the window, with people standing around, tables, glasses etc, just like in prison. This is where Hood gains the upper hand first by breaking a bottle (the rules) on his head, as this is his environment, and he christens it this way.

    • @muhamadsyahmi951
      @muhamadsyahmi951 2 года назад +35

      Yep, use your environment for your advantages. It's reminds me of local comic author in my country making one chapter from his comic series where an experienced street fight elder teach his successor how to win every fight. During the spar, the first attack he landed is with the slippers right to the face followed by brick to the head and choked with the belt. This fight scene reminds me of what Bruce Lee talked about. You’re in a distraction where you’re against a bigger, stronger and perhaps an even more skilled fighter… what you need to do is to fight without rules. To fight as though it was life and death. Going as far as “biting the attacker” when he has you in a lock. You see that is what made the two fighters different. One was a skilled sports fighter, where as the other, was a street/self defense fighter who’s willing to not follow the rules in order to win. Street fights are not fare. There’s no rules. I'm 6'2 and around 120 kilos, and used to work as a bouncer in London. One night one of the regulars had a small middle aged guy with him who got way too drunk in the end. I was gonna take him out but there was something not quite right about him; my instincts told me to let his friend handle it. The next night he told me the guy used to be an old school underground bare knuckle fighter, and after he was ejected from the bar he ended up in jail, having beaten up two cops after biting the ear of some guy in a fight. You have to trust your instincts, especially with the small crazy looking ones. It doesn't matter how good you are in the ring if the other guy is ready to become a complete animal.
