Wonderful video! People (like me) are still falling in love with Avon / Paul Darrow, even now! I can't get enough! Of course, I remember seeing Blakes 7 as a child, but had no clue why people liked Avon then! Now, nearly 40, I'm sitting down and watching all the old episodes of Blakes 7, from the first to the last series, with my hubby. (Luckily we share the same geek tastes!) I have read Paul's autobiography, and am now trying to find clips of all the other TV series and films he was in.
Loved this! Such a wonderful tribute to Paul Darrow, aka Avon. I must admit, I did cry when I watched this video for the first time, only because it’s so well made.

Well, 'deserved' may be a bit strong, but I would have loved for him and the rest to have not died horribly. 🙃 (On the other hand, no one can deny that it was memorable, eh?)
If Avon is smiling someone else must be about to suffer. He was smiling when he was going to kill Vila and kick him out into space to lighten the ship. I can't believe he was in his late 30s when this began. He looks amazingly young. Not to mention exquisite, delicious, etc.
Dora Kalbfell I cannot see him as hot and spicy at all. Not even at his most psycho ...and how I wish they hadnt gone for leather and studs. No, Avon is, at his best, so icy and remote and untouchable. I love it when Cally comes on to him and he backs off and runs away..or when she tries to lay her hand on his arm and he just removes himself...
@NiciJD And Vila isn't dead. I refuse to believe it. Vila will live forever, dammit!! He cant die... *Sniff* And, as I am forever telling people, ORAC LIVES!!!!! (Well now, we saw him destroyed, did we?)
I always loved Vila. I'll settle for him having found a bolthole on some neutral planet, but who doesn't love the idea of 'Vila, Galactic Jewel Thief' irritating the Federation with rumors of his exploits long after Gauda Prima?
@inedibledormouse Wow! I am SO jealous!! He saw your fab creation about himself?! I used to dream about him! LOL! Thought he was the best character by a long shot in this programme, was gutted at the end when they apparently "killed off" the whole cast at that dreadful last episode... Still don't understand why they ended it all! I spent years hoping for a continuation of the series with Avon, 'cause he was the only one we didn't actually see get shot at the end : ) Way better than Star Trek!!
You can try the Blake 7 audio books. They are published again with very good stores, voice and plots. I play them in my car, it's like i am in the midst of exciting adventure. Highly recommended!
