I have also travelled in these general class a decade ago when i used to go to bihar from Odisha during my summer vacations... I have also slept on those floors in 2010s and today I am going to be doctor in few years and tears are in my eyes after looking at them at this condition. Nostalgia hits hard but this also shows a very sad reality of our society !

It's not the reality of society but it's the reality of railway management and so bad plight of people traveling in general coaches …people are not being treated as human beings by railway authorities .

After travelling in trains like Duronto etc in AC I can't imagine going in sleeper.

Sometimes you forget if you are used to travelling in AC coaches how bad it is/could be in general coaches. Hats off to people who have to travel like this for whatever reasons.
Most of the people that I can see have so many kids, it is impossible for a sole earning member of the family to buy 6 tickets.

On 16 July 2022 I travelled from bidar to banglore in local train general coach 18 hour journey... And this journey looks very dangerous then that

My humble feeling after seeing this NORTH INDIAN trains should be run with more General coaches
They already have 4 coaches but this up Bihar bengal has so much population that no matter how much coaches or trains u increase still same condition will b there

In south every nook and corner is connected by bus and people prefer bus over train in many places and so only the trains are less crowded.we should not blame the poor people for overcrowding in trains

I also travelled over night in general ... My experience was not bad... bcz I travelled in Assam... Here people are more civilized and well mannered... Yes We also encounter some hindi speaking people coming from that part of the country making noise... but less in no...

Now sleeper coach also has become similar to general coach. Waiting list and ticketless persons are overcrowding. IRCTC always overcharges. Veg thali correct rate Rs.80 and egg Rs.90.
while we travel in sleeper, ac, 1st class, there are hundreds on the train who can't afford to even board the sleeper class.....The trains are the perfect example of Indian society, where the rich are getting to sit in most number of coaches while the poor are stashed into one single compartment sometimes two.
Do you think there shouldn't be a class system in railways and all classes are abolished and make one class in the whole train?

I have never travelled in General Class of Indian Railways. I am feeling really bad for these poor and helpless people . We always keep complaining about our hardships but after watching these videos , we realise how blessed we are . ❤

@@hawkbird3952 even though I hv trvld in gnrl cls yet it was comfortable coz it was overnight journey and the crowd was not too much as in this train. That journey was done many years ago.
General class in my state, Assam relatively stays empty….only the trains which goes from Assam to Bihar gets filled.
This the perfect example of population in India .

In my state Punjab I always go by general coach as it’s not fully packed n u can find a seat or if not than stand easily...

on Aug 2 2022 I travelled from Mumbai CSMT to Talegaon and Vice versa in Koyna Express. in chair car general. it wasn't as chaotic as this looks. This is way more chaotic and horrible. even the sleeper coaches look pathetic in this train. Is this trains famous for being in this pathetic condition or is this the case everywhere. in North India. i have only travelled in 3rd AC in past and rarely in sleeper for some short distance journeys. I travel daily in Mumbai local, but those are for just 30-40 mins. This is very bad for overnight travel. I hope infrastructure improves in these places and more and more trains are run on daily basis so that people get confirmed tickets in Sleeper and travel peacefully.
It's like this all over North India, but this kind of situation is created only if the train passes through UP and Bihar. Worst states to travel through in the entirety of India. Western side and Southern side are much, much better.

Why can't we have exclusive unreserved trains in high traffic routes.....
Actually there are 16 Antyodaya Express trains in India which are fully unreserved for weaker section of India which travel on very busy train routes. But considering the population of people in states like UP and Bihar, the government should introduce more fully unreserved trains or Antyodaya Express trains.
