    Something that made me pretty disappointed throughout the series is that even though Agatha did pretty much all of Sophie’s hw during their first year, Agatha rarely used any evil spells. I really thought they could have made something out of the fact that Agatha ‘enjoyed’ doing some of Sophie’s homework and classes but they never did. There were some moments were all I wanted was to see Agatha use a dark spell and use her knowledge from evil, and it never came.

    Book 4 thots: ehhh, it was ok. It was really slow at first and tedros never stepping up to the plate got old. I loved Hort and Nicola together. Sherwood Forest is a place I’d like to party at. Book #5 thots: The new first years are hilarious, their breaking in at the church ceremony was so chaotic and funny. Professor Dovey will always be in my heart. Reaper being king was a little far fetched. We didn’t get to see what the crystal ball really did till the end which I didn’t like that much. Book #6 thots: I’m really sad it ended, R.I.P to everyone that died. Tedros got annoying with wanting to be in charge but never actually doing it. Seeing how much Sophie and Agatha loved each other was heartwarming. We learned a lot of lessons in this book which I loved for. Like Sophie learning to eat bc life is just fleeting moments unless you let yourself enjoy it, Agatha talking to Nicola about how you’ll reject someone’s love no matter what if you think you’re undeserving of it, what love really means when It took Horts “death” to see it, Merlin explaining to tedros that hurt goes away when make friends with it bc it’s just as important as happiness and hope, and finally Sophie realizing that once you let go of the ideas of fantasy love you can embrace the love that’s been there all along. Merlin dying about killed me, Hester and anadil getting together = iconic. Tedros proposing to Agatha not just offering marriage but his love, beautiful.

    the ending of book 6 was heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time. I felt so proud of Agatha, Tedros and Sophie because they all conquered their fears and faced the ones that limits them from their true selves. Their growth is so amazing to witness, Agatha in particular because she’s my best girl and comfort character. in the past she’s always being grumpy, have no interest in anything, and of course she doesn’t love herself. Her journey really made me cry because I relate to her so much and to see her be so determined as the story progresses and to see risk her life for her true love, that according to Tedros, death was only another challenge for them to overcome, It was beautiful. And to see her finally embrace her true self... the little comment Sophie thought that Agatha grew to hate mirrors and was now holding one, I thought it was meaningful. The series overall conveys different messages but beyond it all is about the truths of truly loving someone and yourself, that way you can reach true happiness. It was such a rollercoaster and I felt relieved to finally reached the end, considering that I had to wait 3 years to continue reading book 2 and at least 5 months for book 6.... i loved every single chapter and I’m considering of re reading it again.

I haven’t read the 5th book yet cause it’s so slow for me (the descriptions just feel like walking in mud) but I always thought it was weird that the graduated Evers and Nevers have their fingerglows when they shouldn’t! Tuba said the fingerglow would be locked after their first year and yet Lady Lesso has a fingerglow and I’m pretty sure every other adult does.

    Book 2 confused me too because it raised a lot of interesting questions that were never answered like are all the fathers, brothers, husbands and sons in the woods really that detestable that non of them were worth keeping. Also the fact that when Agatha asked how they reproduced, the answer was that they used the slaves so what if the baby was a boy? does that mean the innocent baby gets enslaved too?

    My issue with the last two books is the way the characters seem to forgot that they have magic and how powerful they at some when need it most like then they are attacked by the pirates. You have a school with some the most powerful witches; techers and princesses in the wood cowering from pirates with no magic or powers and a single
    wizard. Why? These same pirates who couldn't be defeated by a group of well trained people with magical powers are then defeat by a single man with a sack. How?

    I swear i didnt quite liked Evelyn but she was definitely an intriguing, attractive and charismatic villain to read. And her taking revenge on the schoolmaster (for casting her out the school and leaving her to starve at the streets when she was pregnant) by naming their children after his dead brother and him was just... Golden. I could vividly imagine the evil smirk Evelyn would have plastered on her face when she look straight into Rafal's eyes as she said it. This and many other scenes throughout the whole series really etched itself in my mind even when there's not much sge artwork out there for me to envision it with. Definitely a signal telling you it's a damn great book to leave a positive vivid and magical impact on its reader.

    High key came here to see if the 5th book gets any better, cause for me rn it’s so slow and the descriptions are making it worse.
    I really hoped that Soman would mature his writing as the characters got older and the readers aged along with the books, but I don’t really see any of that.
    I’m in the middle, but I also can’t get over how they could use magic in the dungeons when there was a hole in the wall. Cause like what’s the limit? If there’s a hole then you can use magic but if no hole no magic? I feel like Soman has a way of not really explaining solutions well and they just happen. But I’ll keep reading and hopefully this is all worth it cause I loved the original trilogy😭

    OMG! I just finished the last book 2 days ago. Damn, that was interesting. I like this series a lot overall. The writing is so smooth and easy to understand. There were important themes in each one. I don't think they were meant to portray stereotypes in regards to gender, but show alternatives and warn of consequences due to excessiveness on both sides. The past and present were interesting. So was truth and lie. The plot twists made sense to me??? It was just all woven so nicely that the author made it work!? Also, in my head, Rhian's name is pronounced: ree - an. Just my 2 cents. overall 4.5/5 star series!

    Listen: I'm a little bit late to comment (i know 'cause I literally finished the book a few hours ago) but I'm flooded with mix emotions. First off, I still think we need another installment of the series because the way how the 6th book ended isn't just too complete! Like you know? Merlin dead on the last chapter? Oh come on we need better than that, don't we all? And second, I get that Tedros and Agatha gets to be the king and queen but personally (personally!), with that reason I wish the world didn't revolve too much on their love story but also give Sophie, the witch queen grand goddess, more exposure! She was being so good at the character development in the first trilogy and the camelot trilogy just made her a sidekick to the lovers. I wish she has some sick powers unleashed. Just as how powerful she was at the first trilogy, 'cause even if she's foggy with all her love interest, she'll still be that unbothered witch queen. Now you know I'm Sophie biased but the root reason I'm reading SGE is because of her character development. And I guess that pays well because she deserved Hort at the end. I'm feeling extra proud to everyone. Everyone that died and everyone that lived. And don't you ever get started with Chaddick. I grown attached to him just by one chapter and poof! He's dead! So many things to point out, this series. But in a good way of course! I wish we could have another trilogy installment where they fight another evil after graduation. And if ever that happens, I hope Sophie will be queen of her own wonderland (lol). This series will forever be in my heart. I'm always gonna be thankful for the author, Mr. Soman for giving us such beautiful story. *chef's kiss*

  • @cenasparks3402
    @cenasparks3402 4 года назад +5

    I loved the series but Sge could have been better off being a stand alone novel because the sixth book was a mess with everything happening and half the twists made no sense, and the diverse reps are really bad at certain points and The LGBT rep is a mess. Characters that could have been great were drowned out for the sake of plot and focusing on main trio of Tedros, Sophie, and Agatha.

    • @aureliaavalon
      @aureliaavalon 4 года назад +5

      To me, all the twists made sense though. With name throwbacks from characters that already died, the twists come together and tie neatly. SGE book 1 is already considered a stand alone novel if you don't want to finish the story, but the other 5 books are as engaging and really enjoyable. And the last book even references events from the book one which is a nice touch and gives you a feel of true completion and growth.

      @darkredsaturn 3 года назад +5

      I agree, the sixth book’s ending felt kinda cliche and as a person who’s part of the lgbtq+ community it annoys me that we have such little rep. I actually liked jaric but like why would you make the only two gay characters (other than like Hester and Anadil and two others who I forgot who we barely see) murderous psychopaths?

      @@xoanna08 I agree. Sophie and Tedros had much more chemistry than Agatha and Tedros and I hate that in the third book they say that Sophie and Tedros are incompatible when in the second book Tedros genuinly fell in love with Sophie.
