*One of greatest jazz pianists of all time. His mind is so full of music and imagination, that he never repeats anything. He even quotes other 10 pieces per minute, totally distorted. He disassembles everything and rebuild at his own way. I am a Jazz pianist, but by listening to him, sometimes I wish to stop playing.*

Since Dizzy has gone, Solal is the funniest surviving musician of the old BOP era.

Yes - and it's for real: a true reflection of the character of the man. He has attained the genius of exposing, in music, who he is in life.

Very much like Jaki Byard in his "outness."

And humor. But, as with the great Mr. Byard, "outness" under such strict, mindful, control - always with an highly structural, architectural, achieved completeness.

I thought Johnny Carisi wrote BoPlicity.for the "Birth of the Cool" album, which Dizzy wasn't on.

Of course Boplicity was NOT written by Dizzy Gillespie, it was written by Cleo Henry and Gil Evans. Wtf!?

Yes, Cleo Henry is Miles Davis' pseudonym.

*Common people are not prepared to listen to this. They´d better listen to Liberace, Richard Clayderman and things like that. They do not understand what´s going on here.*

I dont get Solal's style. I would like to love it but I just can't. It feels technique over music, intellect over emotion. over and over.

You are looking at the sun and are blind ! There´s no more creativity and imagination than that. I can even hear 10 other pieces per minute. He´s everything.
