Ok, but this is actually the premise of a not terrible ya book called Windy City Magic. I am not claiming she ripped off a book. This is a very common idea. Im just saying the book is also good. And it's free on audible. Basically, in the book fairy tale beings exist, they just keep it more or less on the dowl low bc people always want to use them. The main character is a matchmaker instead of a witch like the long line of her family. But her matchmaking abilities help her find a missing person and save the mayor of chicago, who happens to be a family friend. She also starts developing feelings for his son, but when she looks in his eyes, she sees him with someone else. His match. But then he confesses his love for her. Love. Something she is afraid she will be fated to help everyone else find but never find for herself. She's got a really awesome best friend. There's a good amount of sass. And it's generally just a fun time. Is it groundbreaking? No. But was it a really nice read? Yes. Again. I am not calling copycat. That's stupid. The idea of Cupid has existed since forever. Making the leap to magic that can help you see someone's true love isn't that big of a jump. And she is telling her own story. 👍 you know, I've influenced myself to re read it. Lol.
