    Your boxes you create are also lovely. I don't understand why some people don't agree with trimming, to me it's a way of making it yours and getting to know it.

    Another great vid showcasing some rare decks. Since Aeclectic is no more I'm looking on youtube more and more to find new decks. A great resource, thank you.

    love the box for DIIO!! wow..awesome. Can't wait for this deck to get to me! The Fountain trimmed is beautiful! Warms up without the borders.

      thank you :D I can´t really remember how the Fountain looked and felt with the borders LOL, love it trimmed though. But I remember that it was one of the very few decks that had me feeling extremely nervous and almost anxious before and while trimming. I was so scared of messing it up.

    Damn! Well, as I've added so many decks to my wish list better that I work extra hard this year. Totally love hearing your insights and your experiences with each deck; don't apologize for "customizing" your decks, alas you even inspired me to do something with my ever-first deck (and I actually could use advice from you).
    It has a very cheap finish and its all soft and wobbly, any advice on making it a bit sturdier??
    I'm thinking of trimming it a bit and rounding its edges, totally into dying its edges. It's been on a pouch for the last years so I will also make it a box, not sure if a leather or a small wooden one (I'll get it under my pillow and discuss it on dreams). But! My marseilles (hope that's the english spelling) will definitely getting a cardboard box inspired by your tutorial.
    Sadly got things to do but I'll be watching the rest of the video later so hold that cup of tea on the while haha :P

      Rodrigo Daniel Vittori Alí 😎 Sorry for adding to your wishlist 😉 In regards of your wobbly deck... hmmm... trimming it might make it better but if it's still too thin, I've seen people adding foil to the back of decks (usually to simply change the backs - but thais method adds to the sturdiness as well for sure). Saw it first at Veronica Jude's channel (don't know why but I can't link it right now. But it's the very first video on her channel). Maybe that's an option as well?

    I love your videos and I also trim, edge and sometimes even back my decks so I have to ask... Do you trim by hand? They look machine trimmed, so perfect. Just curious. 😊

    • @Cuilfaen
      @Cuilfaen  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you! Yes, I trim by hand. Long blades and long cuts are key 😉

  • @darklittlepeople
    @darklittlepeople 6 лет назад

    ok, i've got to ask - what medium do you use to edge your decks - you seem to have like one million shades to match with any possible colour on your decks, it's mind blowing. which now makes me want to see your art/craft corner and your art
    supplies.............. ;)
    EDIT : i think i should warn you - you already owe me about 300€ and i haven't even started the 4th video yet ! :D
    just kidding, i only bought one deck so far (that has been on my wishlist for 3 years - the archeon

      DarkLittlePeople I actually don't have that much stuff. In the earlier days I mainly used ink pads to edge my decks, now I mainly use sharpies or the like. Maybe I'll do a quick video about it. But that'll have to wait till the weekend at least.
      I'm super curious to hear how you feel about the Archeon Tarot once you used it! I love my "surgeon friend". And I can't wait to see the boxes you come up with!

    • @darklittlepeople

      LOL - if you are in the "for love of cards" on fb, i can try and post a box once it's made. actually, that's how i found your video, because someone had posted theirs which were quite stunning as well... oh man, the pressure is terrible ! :D which kind of sharpies do you use, the regular or the poster paint ones ? it would be absolutely wonderful if you got a chance to make that video, i'm sure lots of people would enjoy watching it !

    • @Cuilfaen
      @Cuilfaen  6 лет назад

      DarkLittlePeople no pressure at all! Only criteria is that you should like it yourself 😙 And yes, I'm on that group 😊

    The Tarot of the Bastard - must be nice that other artists do all the work and someone takes their idea make a deck and sell it for profit. NICE. Not at all. I cannot believe you bought it. A blatant theft of intellectual property.

    • @Cuilfaen
      @Cuilfaen  6 лет назад +3

      Roopa Dudley ok. From an artist point of view I get your point. But as far as I'm aware, all the decks used for it were in the public domain by the time this deck was created. So no copyright infringement here (or "blatant theft" as you called it). Again, one could argue about it from an ethical point of view, but I at least wanted to point out the legal aspect of it real quick.

    • @RoopaDudleyPaintings
      @RoopaDudleyPaintings 6 лет назад +1

      Raping a wife is legal too in most countries. It does not make it right. Getting married to a 9 year old child is legal in Islam. Does not make it right. Yes, it bothers me when people do things like that. Owning slaves was legal too and is still in some countries. Does not make it right.

    • @magnoliajane5999
      @magnoliajane5999 6 лет назад +2

      Roopa Dudley I think that the creator of the deck holds the artist in high regard, and decided to pay homage to them in this way. Your self righteous judgement of her purchasing the cards is rude and comparing it to rape and pedophilia is way out of line and disrespectful of those victims. Please save the outrage for the real villains of the world.

    • @RoopaDudleyPaintings
      @RoopaDudleyPaintings 6 лет назад +1

      I did not compare it to rape and pedophilia or slavery. I said these things are considered "legal" in some counties and that does not make it right. I am outraged because I am an Artist - not just a hobby artist but the serious kind whose work is recognized world wide and published in many art journals and magazine. Are you an artist Magnolia?

    • @magnoliajane5999
      @magnoliajane5999 6 лет назад +2

      Roopa Dudley Yes I am, and regardless of being an artist or not, your comments were rude and out of line.
