A fan teaser edit for David Fincher’s proposed Spider-Man plot.

I had this idea stuck in my head back in 2017. Now it’s finally here with my favorite songs of all time in piano style! I’ve been working on this since July and it wasn’t hard to make. I was going to upload this back in Spider-Man’s birthday but I decided to delay in the last couple of weeks of August. The concept idea is to make it a what if this one came out in the early 2000s instead of Raimi’s first Spider-Man film? The style for the edit is to make it more grounded and realistic similar to the Nolan trilogy, the Netflix Daredevil show, and obviously Fight Club. I’ve used some references to the source material from the comics and minor changes to Fincher’s pitch. I do have to admit but my plot and editing here is heavily inspired by John Nostamos Spider-Man edits (Breakdown & Pre Homecoming) and bloodrunsclear due to the aesthetics, darker and smooth editing.
For the Spider-Man casting, I’ve chosen Edward Norton since his acting and his character in Fight Club looks so similar to the late 80s Spidey back then! I was using Tommy Lee Jones for the Green Goblin while working on this but I decided touse Michael Douglas after watching His 90s film, The Perfect Murder. You can hear Lee’s voice in the Goblin laughing part. I’ve used Gwetheth Paltrow as Gwen since she worked with David Fincher before in Seven. I showed some the aftermath of Gwen getting killed but I didn’t show how she died.

Synopsis (Similar to the original):
Peter Benjamin Parker has been Spider-Man in the last 22 years. He graduated high school, got a bachelor's degree as a science teacher, a menace, and a vigilante. He planned on marrying his girlfriend, Gwen Stacy. However, Peter’s life has been slowly becoming a downfall lately such as his Aunt May getting Alzheimer, distancing himself from Harry, MJ, and Gwen. He defeated the Green Goblin but not Norman Osborn! Osborn recovered his memories and his sinister ego came back after his battle with Spider-Man. Now he’s coming back to destroy Peter Parker and the ones that he loves the most.

James Cameron’s would’ve been realistic and good with realistic problems and finchers would’ve been a study of the charecter of Spiderman just being peter wearing the masks and he would’ve been a freak and feared as a creature
Shia would've actually be interesting asf btw. But I think realistically had Fincher directed it Peter Parker. would've most like been Jake Gyllenhaal & MAYBE DiCaprio. But DiCaprio was more so Cameron's guy. Just look at Jake in October's Sky & Donnie Darko - Perfect duality & conflicted youth that Fincher would've liked. Early to mid 2000's Shia would be cool. I feel like no one would give him the benefit of the doubt & he'd actually crush it. But he was stuck in the Disney wheel house at that time.
@@brownbearboxproductions3458 Agreed. Cameron's would've been another exercise in revolutionizing CGI & VFX, steeped in the 90's action genre spectacle. It would still hold up. A Iconic film. It wouldn't have as much depth as Fincher's but it would've felt important. Especially with Leo, Furlong or Both - either are interchangeable as Peter & Harry. Fincher would've tapped directly into the Millennial Zeitgeist - MTV era. Not edgelordy but a very human drama about transitioning from adolescent to young adult hood & all the trials & tribulations of it. Very much Donnie Darko + Fight Club. A Seattle/NY grungy aesthetic. Peter deep into photography, etc. What it means to not fit. Who are the real "freaks" in society.

I personally don't think David Fincher's style matches with Spider Man, he would have been perfect to direct a Daredevil movie or a Batman movie for exemple, his vision don't really works with Spider Man for me, but would be an interersting movie to watch for sure. This, James Cameron's Spider Man, Tim Burton's Superman, Darren Aronofsky's Batman, Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman, George Miller's Justice League, Guilhermo Del Toro's Justice League Dark, Rick Famuyiwa's Flash and Ben Affleck's The Batman are the cancelled superhero movies that I had most curiosity in see what they could have been if they had been made, maybe they should adapt the script for those films into Graphic Novels or animated movies.

I would have liked to see what Finche's Green Goblin would have been like since knowing that he is a genius at writing villains such as Se7en's John Doe or Gone Girl's Amy Dunne and their villains are considered among the best in film history so who knows, possibly he would have achieved a Goblin equal to or even better than Willem Dafoe's
