Ah this is great. Followed some of this trip via your Instagram but it's great to see the throughline in a video. Went to Porto a couple of years ago with my partner and was in a similar photo funk. Have to say it's one of my favourite cities (the weather was good, the public transport was good, the people were lovely, the food was good, the sign fonts were amazing; I'm easily pleased ha). I also like exploring cities through circuitous walks so got some real nostalgia seeing your journey. Was nice to see a proper photographer get to grips with it this time! The year before I was lucky enough to explore Faro and the Algarve and your shots have reminded me to head back sometime soon. So many beautiful places!
Thanks dude! Portugal was a real surprise and even though it was April we had some great weather too! I’d definitely go back down to Lagos and that for sure, beautiful!!
Great content, Max! I recently bought my first 35mm film camera-an old point-and-shoot for 3 quid at a flea market in an old barn. Thankfully, it works amazingly well, and I'm really excited to start learning how to shoot. You've got a keen eye for this, and I really like your philosophies when it comes to photography. You're a big inspiration!
@@maxkent Canon Top Shot (aka Sure Shot Supreme). Already looking forward to getting a SLR and have been thinking about getting a Canon AE-1 or Pentax K1000 (as you've made a video about).
I’d suggest the K1000 or I’d probably stretch to the Canon A-1 which I prefer, both are great though! The Sureshot is good but the autofocus could be better for sure!
@@maxkent Thanks for the recommendations! Yeah, it's not a Mju, but for 3 quid, I'm really happy with it. I'd rather spend a bit more on an SLR in that case.
Yo! Sign up to my email list to be the first to hear about my European photobook www.maxkent.co.uk/ (It'll pop up after a few seconds). Nice one

I like these „follow me reports“. It’s nice to see your photography journey.
Glad to see some familiar places, nice photography! Oh and Portugal has wild cats - lynx :)
Nice one dude! Shit! Maybe we heard a Lynx!

Thanks a lot Max, I’m glad you’re inspired! What point and shoot have you got?

Person who grew up hand guns and rifles and have them I could definitely feel your unease just hearing the sound of them.
You've missed the one place!
