If you'd like the best sound quality & easy to package, I suggest blink 900, and if you'd like normal sound quality, but highly cost-effective I suggest this one; uwmic9s is too professional.

A proper carrying case is not a luxury, it's an absolutely essential accessory because it protects the equipment, it makes easier to put the kit in a backpack and then find it. It makes for more organised, professional work but Rode clearly doesn't care about that. I think you tried too hard to find cons in the set . Actually, I would say the only con is the complicated name.
You sure can it comes with a TRRS audio in cable. But w the jack-less newer ipads, u need to purchase a lighting-to-3.5mm jack. Which i think either saramonic or apple sells. Make sure the jack supports audio in ❤️
