Very much like Norse tradition. In Asatru Tradition, the gods are pleased when you take things into your own hands use the virtues of perseverance and self-reliance. To the Aesir and Vanir, begging for help or prayer is a sign of weakness.
Sounds like virtues for racism...which is anti life in origin. Ungodly by default.
@@rahkriga how is it virtues for racism when they only made contact with white people?
@@rahkriga
actual peanut brain
@@rahkriga H u h ? How are perseverance and self-reliance tied to racism? Also, seeing as there have been countless gods of death worshipped throughout human history, so being anti-life wouldn't make any deity "Ungodly By Default".
I think your tone, cadence, and accent really add a lot to these videos. reminds me of wise ole Akiro in the original Conan films.
Thank you, that was what I was going for without going full on like the master, ha. Thanks for watching and may your throne be most secure and your enemies cowed into submission.
+AkaiSamurai ha. "crush your enemies. see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women."
This is good
You almost sound like Subotai from the film
Thank you, I was going for that tone. Thanks also for watching :).
Dinner for Wolf?
@@akaisamurai You said you don't travel much. Travel you will like. I was in Japan for 2 weeks and I am trying to get back.
It Is by no accident he is the teller of this Tale
@@johnsheetz6639 Not teller but chronicler.
Your Hyrkanian accent is perfect for this.
Thank you good sir and may you enjoy what is good in life for such kind words.
Crom is fascinating when you see all the Gods bascially having ritual and prophets and stuff, and Crom doesnt have all that.
You know after all these years of immersing myself in the Conan lore I never realized till now that Crom is like the ultimate deadbeat Dad.
Haha, I guess so in a way but to I guess to me, he is just slightly above deadbeat dad as he does recognise great feats but only...great feats, while deadbeat dads hit you regardless. In a way, a Crom comedy like married with children would not be out of space for Conan fans I feel lol.
@Oregon Pagan I agree for the most part but Yujiro actually pays attention to the world and Baki way more than Crom ever would anybody in Hyboria ha.
Eh, it's more like his approach to godhood mirrors the parenting style of wild creatures. He's a god of negligence, the god of 'I've given you everything you need, what more do you want?'
Speak ill of Crom and I shall have your tongue, dog!
Crom's religion is cooler than I thought! It resonates a lot with what I believe.
that's actually sad :( Crom sounds very sadistic, cruel, distant, and cold
@@TheNikolinho crom is honorable not sadistic or cold
@@TheNikolinho Crom gave everyone the strength of heart and mind to survive the world. What more do you want? He gave all that you need!
@@SwordTune "all"? there's no hope, no joy, no love, no peace, no purpose, no eternity, no bliss, no healing, nothing with Crom ;p
It pleases me that you speak with a strong accent. It sounds good to hear the descriptions the way you say them, you sound like a young Akiro, the wizard.
It pleases Crom as well, but to hell with him!
Ha indeed, fellow warrior and adventurer and to hell with Crom!
No you've done it. Crom will send misfortune and trouble your way!!
Now you have done it!! Crom will now send troubles and misfortune your way!!!!
Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne
I must've watched this video a hundred times over the last few months lol It really motivates me to push harder in life. If there really is a god, this is exactly how I feel his nature is. Thanks for this excellent video
Agreed. Crom is pro. what a God is like rather than a caring one and we should rely on ourselves to help ourselves. Thank you for your support!
Oh nice I never saw this video before but glad to see you've done more conan lore videos besides the hyborian world lore ones.
Interesting about Crom of Cimmeria, in the film with Arnold, they made Conan and Cimmerians, including Crom himself look like vikings with the uncaring god act like Odin
Ha yes, the Arnold movies are not the best representation of Conan but take into the fact that it brought so many of us into Howard's world, I think it has done more good than bad.
I think they're more Celtic-based. The Vanir are the vikings, North of Cimmeria
@@akaisamurai Tower of the Elephant was my intro to Conan.
We need more Conan videos, thank you kind sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If there is interesting stuff to research and say from Howard's world I will ha. Thanks for watching.
All of these videos are GREAT !
Crom approves from his Mountain.
Ha, one can only hope Crom approves and I gain not his wrath or too much of his attention.

You've done excellent with this video!
Very glad I found your videos. Binging them for all that delicious lore!.
Ha thank you and I hope you will find more you like here. Thank you for watching and stay safe during this period.
awesome job!
i like the survival toughness stoicism extreme as the land is without mercy and the weak do not last in the wilderness of cimmeria or aquilonia..hail crom and keep the sword sharp

Why thank you and it is much appreciated. Many of MItra's blessings to you.
2:54 - that painting is simply majestic. Not because the female is naked, but because she gives the impression of a strong woman, one worthy of Conan. And that red sky just adds to the power.
dont give up on your channel, dont stop keep going. Crom wouldnt stop why should you
Ha, thank you for the kind comment, traveler. And I hope to get back to the channel someday so never say never and may many an adventure cross your path and victory be at its end.
Great video
Thank you :).
Would like to see a video of the demon that first appeared in Conan The Barbarian issue #5, Jaggata Noga. I don't know if there's alot of sources for this character as he's shrouded in mystery.
No, there is not much sources as it is pro. a creation by the comic writer for that one story from what I have seen. Apologies.
Whenever I watch this video (which I have done several times now), I picture you sitting at a roaring fire on a dark night, telling a group of young village children of the strange gods that in inhabit our world. By the way, I have been able to find connections to real world gods for the gods from these books, except Crom himself. Any thoughts?
Thank you for your support good sir and I do like the cold, so maybe a roaring fire in the winter, ha. And as to the Gods and their real world counterparts, Howard himself has said he took many gods from our history as he did write Conan's history as a precursor to ours. It is just that some details might be skewed and distorted as he was less than friendly to views of outside cultures than those of the West, like many of his lifetime.
Once again, thanks again and I do wish you many adventures and many successes :).

Thank you good sir, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I reading up on the topic ha.
I have been a huge fan of Conan and Red Sonja since I was a child. The movie came out when I was 14 and playing the original D&D with my friends so I became enamored with his stories. You might want to check out the trailer to a new documentary that is coming out soon called "A Riddle of Steel"the trailer is available on youtube.
Wow, thanks. A cool thing about comments is learning about documentaries like this I would probably have not found by myself. Thanks!
I like your Conan Saga
Ha thank you. Your kind words are most appreciated.
When neighbours have really load "alone time", I am like "BY CROM, DAMMIT ALL, PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!" or when someone dumps the garbage, recyclable garbage at that outside on the laws, "I SWEAR TO CROM, MOTHER GAIA WILL BE HAVING YOUR REMAINS"
Ha, a very effective way of using Crom's name!
@@akaisamurai its honesty, WHO THE F THORWS PLASTIC ON LAWN!
A thought which strikes me about life in Cimmeria is that having Crom as one's god would be economical in regards to both resources and time.
Ha, that is why I love uploading to RUclips sometimes. Excellent thought and yes if I ever wanted a god to be real, I choose Crom in a heartbeat!
Peace and prosperity my friend.
Conan come back to save our souls.
Correct you are! Story speaks to me, and now you are the voice when remembering or invoking 🤔 you must speak from a place of overstanding.
Ha thank you so much for the nice words and watching. May Crom leave you be as you cleave victory through your enemies.
thank you
Thank you for watching and have a day of high fantasy :).
Wanted to ask if I could post these videos on conan sites and stuff to get it out there the lore is kinda hard to come by especially with good detail and research
Sure, if it is embedded links so it links back to the RUclips page and credit is given. Thanks for the compliment by the way, it is most appreciated. :)

I'll bet you anything Games Workshop got Khorne from Crom. He sounds almost exactly like him in some ways.
Ha maybe, they def. Have similarities I agree.
So just out of interest, which of the Gods of Howard's Conan Universe (and feel free to throw in Lovecraft's as well since they were peers and throw in Game of Thrones while you're at it and Warhammer too why don't cha!) would you think is "real" or actually worship or follow and believe in? The Gods seem to be inspired by "real life" Gods as well as "real" aspects of life. Even Lovecraft's Gods seem analogous to some real deities and conceptsm, some of which are taken quite seriously today. In the films, it seems a variant if Dagon might have taken on the name Dagoth, similar to how Biblical deity names of "enemy gods" would take on "oth" like Ashtaroth for example.

Khorn and Crom sharing mead in skull mugs is canon and you cant change my mind
Ha, that I would like that to be in canon too. :D
Khorne actually was based off Crom, you know.
Benevolence is the true way of the gods, not Set's blood thirst nor Crom's indifference.
What about the time Crom banished Shuma-Gorath?
Ah apologies, I did not read anything about that one.

And the next two issues
I actually think this way
This guy doesn't like weakness to his followers
Nice video do you play Conan exiles great game
No sadly even with its theme, I have never got into the MMORPG genre. Hopefully the Total War Series has a Conan theme one day ha.
Crom sounds a lot like GOD. He doesn't care at all. Lol
Crom the Absent Father god
Is that a Skyrim theme playing????
No it is a track called death of kings.
I’m here because the game Conan exiles
Subotai, is that you?
Ha thank you, the kind words are most appreciated.
Ah, Crom.
He gives you life at birth then you're on your own, bucko (Best God ever I guess....).
Haha, well I guess it is like throwing one into the water to learn to swim. Some swear by it and others go to Temples of Mitra.
No different from reality😂
Crom is angered
...... To hell with ya!
Ironic all of this came from the mind of a guy who never moved out of his parents' house and killed himself when his mom died.
True, but at the same time the fantasy of Conan must have been an outlet for him for a life he was not truly satisfied with.
Crom counts the dead.
so basically crom is khorne
Not really as Crom does not care for the affairs of Man, for the most part, he favours courage and honour rather than Khrone who does care to a certain extent for the mentioned traits but does not mind wanton slaughter too.
Basically, Crom is Neutral and Khrone can be considered bad in a standard moral sense.
good point. by the way have you considered making a video about connections between conan and the Cthulhu mythos. I read somewhere they were in the same universe
Ah, I actually have considered it but the more I researched the more I felt there is too little to say as I only really follow the Howard stories and historically Howard and Lovecraft did communicate and that is how some of the Cthulhu gods found their way into Conan. That being said, the references are minute and if I were to do a video, i basically will be doing the almost same thing as my Lovecraft videos. Thus well the Lovecraft series ha.
Khorne is named after Crom, who was a Celtic god in the real world.
343 min...star of david on shield...he was a Jew?
And this, children, is how you read directly from the wiki without being a complete prat about it.
…
So basically Crom is pretty much a Devil instead. Yeah even Yog is a better God to follow.
Your volume is too low
Ah, thank you, hopefully, I have fixed that in future videos. Thank you for the heads up.
BTW do you think Conan’s Crom inspired Warhammer‘s Khorne?
@@ApocryphalDude It is possible but they are quite different in morality and also a Khrone probably fits Aries a lot more but the name could be derived from Crom as a possibility as it sounds cool, ha.
If you want something done do it yourself Conan
Ha well, most of the time he does.
Crom is the atheist-god.
Ha yes, if there ever was a God who acted like an atheist, it is Crom.
It's more interesting than that. Crom's faith is essentially the atheist credo.
Crom needs Jesus in his life
Lol, yeah he is quite an angry individual, he needs Jesus or some meditation classes ha.
The Cimmerians are in fact the late Huns!
Nah. Herkanians are based on Mongols. Cimmeria is a western nation. the name comes from Cymru, Welsh for Wales. Howard based them on Celts and Germanic tribes.
my bad, confused Huns and Mongols.
The Cimmerians are more akin to Ancient Britons and Celts.
+Meredydd AKA Mere The Cimmerians were an ancient people from the Steppe
KosovoReport Cimmerians were serbian
so basically, these gods, esp. Crom, suck big time, lol!!!
Conan did not descend from the Cimmerians. He WAS a Cimmerian. There is a difference.
