Right? My boyfriend used to have his hair stylist friend cut his hair and it never really turned out the way he wanted it to but he kept going back. Then one night that friend got drunk and was like "I don't like how you want it cut so I've been cutting it the way I like better." My boyfriend never went back to him.

Yanno, theoretically the whole blonde-black hair style seems like a mess but Bunny seems to pull it off? I feel like mixed in with her style, it gives 90s grunge vibes and I think it looks nice on her. Not to mention, at the end of the video she seemed SO HAPPY. I'm glad she went back to this hair color.

In the original video where he bleached her hair into the warm blonde they explained that the ashy blonde doesn't compliment Bunny's skin tone and made her look sickly pale. The warm blonde color brings out the reddish pink tones in her face and is much more flattering then if they went ashy.

As a hairstylist I love at the end of this video and the beginning how you said that it shouldn't matter what others think. If the client wants it and they love it then that's what's important. We're here to please our clients:) and I think it looks awesome!
Why are hairstylists always so goddamn judgemental and worried over certain haircolours or styles?
Ornacia Because we have so many clients that does something crazy with their hair at home and then they come to a salon with high demands. People have no idea how annoying it is to have a client come in and demands us to do magic. It's hard removing black colour from hair, and a lot of clients expect us to remove it in one go without damaging their hair, which is impossible.
That being said, hairdressers shouldn't be judgmental about their clients wishes, but if a hairdresser tries to talk a client out of something it's often for the clients own good. I would always recommend a client to start slow when going dark to blonde.
Alina Murriate Yeah, I would be iffy about taking someone from blonde to black too. Especially considering the fact that some clients have completely unrealistic expectations. Sometimes, even after we warn them of things that could happen to their hair during the process, they blame us if anything goes wrong with their hair.
Alina Murriate, that is understandable. Especially when you warn people about it. However I've also come across hairstylists that pretty much still tried to push their own ideas as in how the hair is cut despite of what was asked.
My mom litterally was told by a female hairstylist that no woman should do the really short look, because it looked to boyish and that women should stick to their feminine long locks. That while my mom looks great in the short pixie cut and she feels it's much easier to handle than the long hair she once had.
So I guess the knife cuts both ways.

AsylumKitty A hairstylist should always put the client first, and think about their wants and needs. That's why sometimes we don't suggest certain things for our clients, because of how painful it can be to maintain or get a certain look; or how it will affect their overall look or lifestyle. But it's not our place to force our ideas on our clients. Just because we don't like a certain look, doesn't mean our clients shouldn't get it and love it. Always keep that in mind.

well it's her hair and she missed the black. think of it this way; you've always had long hair and you suddenly decide to cut it into a pixie. a few months go by and you feel like you really miss the long hair. like you don't look like you with short hair and decide to grow it out long. that's what bunny went through. I recently went through a similar thing with my own hair but I got over it. bunny hasn't so she put the black back in and guy probably didn't want to do it because black is a very hard color to get rid of. if took eight hours before but bunny didn't t like that color because it had faded and she hadn't been getting it touched up so it looked really bad in her eyes. now she has guy to touch it up and keep it looking nice
kailen hannie well it was but he was actually such a good sport about it, lots of hairdresser won't even let you get your hair done the way you want it if they don't like it, they won't tell you "no" directly but they will make you understand that there's no way they're doing it and some will even try to do something else instead of what you asked without your permission...
Indigo I'm sorry you had such a bad experience ! that's why I always go to the same hairdresser everytime, I can't trust anyone else with my hair. I don't get why they do that either, I get that it could be hard or I don't even know but that's their job and if the client is aware of how hard it'll be to get ride of it and still wants it then they should do it! At the end of the day it's not like the color will be on their hair and they're still getting paid so what's the problem ?
that's not what most hairdressers do, its what bad hairdressers do! I would have started a full-blown argument, and demanded they fix it as well as not having to pay for the trouble. also at 15, you should not be colouring your hair, with box colour, or professional colour, it's actually illegal in most of Europe.

Guy is so professional and sweet. Not only does he do what the client wants, he does it masterfully as well instead of berating them for "not doing it right" and just doing what he thinks is best. In my opinion, that's the mark of a true professional hair stylist - someone who can take a request however taboo it may be and really make it work for the client. BRAVO! It's their hair and they should get what they want! He did such an amazing job and was so sweet the whole process through. He took a style that's a quote unquote "no-no" and made it his own. It looks amazing, modern, funky and uniquely tailored to Bunny. Top top notch hair stylist, he's truly a master of his craft.

It looks great on her! I honestly think she is one of the few people that could rock this look for years without it going out of style for her. Also the way the black is set in her hair and the highlights in her front pieces, really give the illusion that her hair is much shorter than it is, if you just look at her natural color. Great job as always!

This is the greatest incarnation yet. The latest one was too short and a lot blacker, but this one is about the perfect balance, great layers, awesome streaks and highlights, awesome all the way around--in a hotel room without all of the equipment, no less! Serious skills. Her hair grows so dang fast that she could easily end up looking like this again. Either way, she is wonderful, and you are fabulous for continuing to help her and support her in her awesome quirkiness.

Or is that just the contrast of the colours playing tricks on my eyes! Guy Tang is a good hairstylist, but you'd need to have so much energy around him to keep up!

No I understand you usually need to fill the blond you're dying with a red. (was an apprentice) I am talking about the surrounding blonde. It might just wash out... but what they didnt want dyed has gone a bit green... like a tint 😊
I think the chunkier style helped the black standout, now it looks a little grey since its blended so well. It looked nice in the up do tho.
