@Tig Bitties I've unlocked all the retro characters as well. Doesn't change that I believe the game is unbalanced for solo play. The bosses especially if you pick one of the characters who don't deal a lot of damage just become a chore to fight. They wouldn't really be an issue by themselves but when they call in reinforcements and the screen is filled with regular goons and a damage sponge boss, yeah lets just say that isn't something designed for a solo experience.

I was hoping that they would let the players decide if the game is in retro or modern style. Should be selectable in the menu. Not just the sprites for the players, but for the whole game. That would be dope.
@@bonelesspizza7575 I got the Limited Run physical release of River City Girls and it's awesome and the music is fantastic. The Takeover on Steam is pretty up there too as is Fight' N Rage ...It doesn't get better than SOR4 in the genre.
People that didn't play it back then they can have a taste of it, but they will never get the same feeling that we did when we played it back then when that graphic was the best thing ever lol.

I'll take what I can get with this under-rated genre. it's a change of pace from all the shooters and RPGs that seem to be plaguing the videogame industry.
Mr.X final battle was difficult at times, avoiding his bullets was hard and he did take a chunk of your HP if he hits you with the gun itself. But Zamza was always a lot tougher, especially when he would counter most of your jump attacks. I could only ever defeat him on hard mode with Skate and Blaze, using their backflip moves. Great game, would love to see a full stage from the classics remade in the art style of this one.
I have two questions... 1. Do you get to play the retro levels leading up the boss or just the bosses? 2. Once unlocked, can you access them at any time from the menu or do you have to go through that process every time to reach it?
1. It’s just the bosses 2. In order to reach them you would need to travel a ways in the stage to get to the retro arcade. Which would make sense why when you do reach the arcade you just straight up fight the boss. But you don’t have to go through all of story mode you can choose which boss you want to fight with the stage select.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who want to discover these surprises on their own while playing. You might consider changing the title of this video. Some of the stuff they they did had to have been on purpose so they had stuff to fix or something. I do really like the game over all though. Just needs a few fixes.

Wait a minute Jack is definitely not the boss of level one in streets of rage 2. I don't remember his name but I know for sure that the boss in the 1st level is the guy you fight after leaving the bar. That's when you go back outside its raining now the music changes and there's 2 trash cans in the corner with chickens in them that your hoping your brother doesn't eat both of them....
I got into the Ultimate Warrior lookalike stage by accident, pretty certain I didn't taser the machine, it just got hit by a special move. Edit: Fortunately I'd actually recorded the video and I was able to watch it back and see what happened - one of the bad guys accidentally tasered the arcade cabinet.
The trick is to keep those biker chicks from headbutting the arcade. If you stay at the bottom of the screen, you can usually keep the arcade from getting destroyed. You just may take more damage, because you can't move around as much. Whatever you do, don't accidentally throw an object at the arcade.

Retro levels look 10 times better than the normal stages. Normal stages look so dark and boring is SoR4.. :( id might pick the game up if they release a version with retro filter

Jack's a sub-Boss. Your right though, Barbon is the main Boss of the first level.
