I got a Victorinox watch two weeks ago. Fieldforce Sport Chrono. It is an absolutely solid build watch. I now admire the intricate markings on this watch. Has not lost any time. A worthwhile investment 👍
I know this is old content but heads up for anyone looking to purchase the watch. The watch is huge lug to lug and if on the bracelet, even bigger. The bezel at least on mine is misaligned. If you have under 7 inch wrist it will sit like a slab. More than a tissot prx or tudor black bay gmt. If you can see past these flaws the watch is very good, more of a tool watch that you wont mind knocking about a bit. Im quite rough with mine because it feels very tough for an automatic watch. The steel is brushed not seiko style polished, so no need to baby this watch as its built for using it. Getting around +8 seconds a day on mine which is good for a sellita movement, not to bad. Hope it helps 😊.
Currently the Victorinox website shows the automatic being offered with only their slightly weird wood bracelet and the grey rubber strap in a combination,. Its looks like if you want that nice QD stainless bracelet you would havd to order it separately at a listed price of Cdn $265.00. That would be a deal breaker for me. Looks like they have dumped their nice hinged cases for a cardboard box too. That would be another downgrade, for me at least - over the past couple of decades I have purchased t three of their high-quality quartz watches, and they all came with the much more durable hinged leatherette boxes. I am also wondering if the casebacks are sapphire crystal or merely mineral glass. No sale to me if they are mineral glass only.
I actually like the automatic bracelet model. That quick release is AWESOME. Man I wish other companies would but just a little bit of time and money into their bracelets. Im sick of buying a watch for a grand to have the cheapest bracelet attached to it *COUGH* Seiko!
Hello, good comments. But I have to ask you: don't you see anything wrong with this watch? And which competitor (price/quality) do you think is better? Thank you.
Glad to see movement in the direction of quick-release bracelets and straps, and I share your hope that this will catch on more widely. Christopher Ward is leading the charge on this one. I have had three Victorinox quarts watches, and the cases, straps, and bracelets have always rivalled mid-tier automatics for design and execution. Too bad both of the 1884 watches are such monsters. I could live with the swiss army knife engraved into the back of the quartz version, but the white knife outline on the display back of the automatic is just goofy in my opinion - it looks like you forgot to take off a plastic protective sticker. I have had Victorinox knives and watches for decades, and don't need the watch to remind me it came from an manufacturer who also makes knives. They are already pushing the marketing of the knives too far into the precious/snob market for my sensibilities, and this is going a bridge too far.
How did you like the quartz watches? Were they reliable and did the last? Do you recommend getting a victorinox quartz watch? I have been looking at getting one and was just curious. Thanks
@@deanP. victorinox quartz watches are of superb quality. They last well, and have very high quality cases, faces, movements, bracelets and straps. The quality of this watches matches those of mechanical watches in the $1000.00 plus range. The quartz movements are dead reliable and accurate - moreso than all of the very most expensive mechanical watches. I stand by my comments above - I don't think you would be dissapointed in any Victorinox quartz watch - they don't cut any corners on these compared to good mechanical watches.
@@seayak thank you so much for responding. I know the quality of their knives is very good. If they make watches at that same high quality they would be great. The weird thing is that they are just not talked about much on RUclips so it’s hard to know. Your comment helps a lot.

Thank you for taking the time to show these watches. I appreciate this video.

Thanks for the video! As far as I found, the movement in the quartz version is Ronda 715
Great design and built very well. If these were smaller, I would gladly buy one.
Okay I got to say it that flat part at the bottom of the bezel is kind of weird and cool at the same time.
Cool looking watches verging on too many details, yet somehow not.
Great value on incredibly reliable and handsome watches.
Thank you.
Good looking watches! Really dig the auto. Thanks Rob, for continuing to show all sizes of watches, from a big wrist member lol.

i'd buy one if they get it down to 40mm diameter and 46mm lug to lug.
Victorinox keeps pushing great designs with huge cases, like it was 20 years ago. 54mm lug to lug ? No thanks…
Spectacular
Really nice watches well done Victorinox.
I’m a fan
Nice looking automatic. Not bad coming from a knife company.
Not crazy about he bracelet.
What is the weight of the second watch? It will be fit if i have a tight wrist?

Very Nice Review. Can you tell me the circumference of your wrist, please. Because I think that de 54 mm that You Say it's very long for mine
The movement is a Ronda 715
I like it but…lug to lug will kill this for most people I think.
Nice looking watches!

Hello, where can I get the original rubber straps for this watch model?
I want this watch but with the quick release would it be impossible to put a NATO or Zulu strap on it???
Is it just me or is the Victorinox logo on the quartz way off the 12 marker on the chapter ring?
You're right it is off. More than a Seiko
Victorinox are quality watches for the money .........
Is the automatic one for under water?
Strange but the quartz looks nicer to me
We are living in dangerous times. This watch is antimagnetic. Will it survive near a nuclear blast? Thx for review!)
Big OOF on the damned-near-unreadable hands.
