Continues to be a 10/10 after all these years
4/4*
That intro and the beggining of slam still gives me shivers down the spine no matter how old i get.
I love how smooth the transitions between each track are
@@sebszz damn right, for me Slam was the first dnb track I have ever searched for, after a friend told me about drum n base. It blew my mind. It started my 10 year DJ career, but most importantly opened my mind to new sounds and experiences. After I've heard this, I knew I were understood and I was not alone in my taste in art.
I truly wish you all the best whoever you are reading this, hold you colour;)
Unreal album, takes me right back to 2006
Insane that this was their first album. Right out the gate with the best dnb album of all time.
one of the best albums ever forever
Definitely
Iswear
true on another level
tbh tho, imo this album was the creation of dubstep, imo. Sooooo there is an argument to it not being the best album ever.
Facts 🔥
I recently rediscovered this album after like 13 years. My God, this takes me back.
I will never lose you again
Now if you’ve forgotten, allow me to guide you back
Yearly in fact.
yearly reminder.

Thanks man
Thanks bro 👌🏼
Gracias. x
Bless you
This is the album that got me into drum and bass. It's got everything: liquid vibes, neurofunk, and samples/inspiration from many other genres.
amen brother. i was 16 just left school and my friend turned up to my house with this album one day he got it from a cd store on a whim. we listened to it for the first time and was hooked instantly. me and my friend were avid metal fans so this was a complete shock to us but we both liked it. funny thing is my friend is now a dubstep/dnb producer signed to macabre unit digital and has become a recognizable name in the underground scene here in the uk. who knows how different life would have been if he didnt get that CD.
is it bad I read drum and bass like the blood sugar voice?
"It's drum and bass. What you gonna do? "
Yesssssss
I like drum n' bass with an urban soul feel, like RnB or dub
Welcome 🤗
Hold Your Colour is the best Pendulum album. Who's with me? :D
I definitely am xx
+1
Idk I listened only this, but for 2 months
Well, that and another planet share first place together, it's a tie between those two.
I used to listen to this back in 2009, it was the only CD I had in my Sony D-E220 CD Player during a family holiday in Hong Kong, I remember listening to this on the sky train. Havent heard it since back then, still a hit of an album.
This album is beyond legendary... Beyond nostalgia. It just makes me feel happy and safe and at home.
F*cking album is perfect from beginning to end, no skippable tracks whatsoever...
legend, my favourite drum and bass band
O jaki ty mądry ^^
@@mateuszkotlarz9287 przepraszam bardzo, zamknij tq dupe

Best Dnb album produced.
It's between this and Matrix & Futurebound's Universal Truth IMO.
Always remember listening to this album in my dad's car with my sister, getting some right daggers from the spectators at my dad's footy matches in Cornwall. Ahh simpler yet bassier times 😊
I saw pendulum live back when this came out. Chase & status were supporting [before they hit big] and there were about 10 people in the room, can't imagine it now. My first time taking pills that night and I was off my fuxking rocker.
Fkin LOVE THAT
I haven't listened to this album in over a decade. I think I purposefully shut it out of my brain because it's tied to memories of the girl that introduced me to it. Anyway, I'm glad it's back in my life and still as good as I remember it.
This is a great album, dude!! Was and is.
Its funny how im in the complete opposite here.
I was into pop/tiktok songs, and after it ended . This album is my jam again.
Reminds me of my childhood with dreams and goals and counter strike lmao
Are you me? That's so similar to what I had first experienced this album. It's an incredibly melancholic memory for me, yet nothing compares to it.
Makes me feel the same if not better all these years later after every listen.
i used to love driving to work in the mornings listening to this album. Good times
Sad memories aye? :(
The whole album is beautifull! We need more pendulum !
I remeber exactly like it was yesterday. Warm summer 2005 and this masterpiece dropped in stores, it was a HUGE gamechanger, bringing dnb to people who never heard it before. It still rocks to this day. Good times back then.
2005! I was in Australia and downloaded it onto an mp3 player and played it loud!
@@tommiller7219 yea sorry it was 2005 july! Was good summer i was going to high school then everything new for me back then hell Good times
I was born October 2005😂 just turned 17 and I love this album.
Only few dnb bands/artists have reached this legendary status. I would think of Bad Company UK,Noisia,Goldie,Black Sun Empire but that's all for me.
My favorite Pendulum Album.
absolute masterpiece.
All songs are my favorites!!
Hold Your Colour of the best tune
Last time these guys came to Baltimore, I got lost in the dance circle in a puddle of sweat. This album continues to be their best. A decade plus!!!!
My DnB influence alongside Dieselboy... runnin since '06! ☺️🎶🔊
Me and you both! Even the same year as well. This, concord dawn, brookes brothers, Danny bryd, chase and status and of course our American brother Dieselboy!! Still listen to this and dungeon master guide periodically.
My seven years old son loves Pendulum... and me too for sure ! Together we dance and listen to them
2024 best of bests❤
This album is soo nostalgic. Never been huge DnB fan but I remember banging this album on repeat while I was trying to do footstep. I was 16 back then lol.
Hold your colours against the wall. Awesome.
Brings back good memories
This album is a perfect mix between atmospheric and hardcore d&b. I wish pendulum returned to this style of music, especially plasticworld. Total masterpiece. Definitely one of my top 2 albums of all time, tied with 'Me against The World by' 2pac.
how fucking good is Still Grey - 1:08:43
Very fucking good.
well its still great
@@sowczy still greyt
The vocals in the chorus of Hold Your Colour is probably my favourite thing this band has ever done.
This album got me through university reading and revision back in the day. Still absolutely bangs.
I constantly come back this, listening while working.. listening while working out. This album is amazing. This is what perfection sounds like.
I listened to this whole album on acid. It was so euphoric and I felt them other planet impressions put on my psyche. This album was trippy AF on acid. Definitely an album that's a must if you drop sid...
Try Monster Magnet, Dopes To Infinity as well. Different trip. Comic books in space. Barbarella. Ming.
Transition between Prelude and Slam is just perfection on all levels
It just goes down like fine fucking wine
Does anyone here have songs or albums that instantly take them back to a younger self in a simpler time?
Well for me, this album exemplifies 2006 college year with good friends, it was always being played either in a car or at a house party ❤️ my god such good times and what an album
Their best album by a long mile
This shit was my edgy teenage years heck I even imported this to wipeout on PS3 best move ever
Holy crap, YES! I can totally see Pendulum in WipEout, alongside many other artists like Tantrum Desire.
There’s no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There’s no knowing where we’re rowing
Or which way the river’s flowing
Is it raining, is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing
Is the grisly reaper mowing
Yes, the danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they’re certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing
bass drops everyone looses their shit. good times
Oh no, bro, it's the sun!
It's set in motion
This is gonna be fun
Hope you brought your suntan lotion...
Who knew a sample from Charlie and the chocolate factory could be such a monster in a drum and bass track!
The memories of this OMG
😳
Man this album is like the pyramids. Something from the past that is still holding up and unsurpassed in grandeur. I genuinely believe there will never be another dnb album this good.
this album lived in my discman for over a year in high school
It's funny with me. First I've heard hold your color in 2010, then in 2013 sounds of life, 2015 plastic world and streamline, and now in 2020 the whole album.
too busy eating up old pendulum and knife party, now they;re fukn back. love these dudes. much love WesternAustralia.
Never ever gets old why did I ever stop listening 🎧😭😅
Thanks for uploading this. High time I listened to a full album of theirs. Not always easy to get full albums of good stuff on here.
I'm still here can't get enough. one of the best if not THE best 💯 🐐
I always come back to this. What an album, what great memories.
I swear the quiet part in plastic world (6:40 ish) gets longer and longer
Every track is a banger.
Thx. Timeless /Fine time. Nice greats from Vienna, the little Country next to Germany
2023 and still 💯🔥🔥👏
I used to love this album! Just listening to this with my son who used to copy the guy dancing in the video when he was little! Now it’s my turn to dance and embarrass him!🤣
GOOSEBUMPS
I heard Pendulum randomly, particuarly Slam. But I got heavily into this group because of Knife Party.
So when I revisited Pendulum in detail and listened to Slam, I was thinking to myself: "oh! Thats where boss mode came from."
I love trap music but Slam is the DnB version in moments I want to feel hyped.
MEMORIES, BABY
So much love, so many memories and so many amazing dubplates.
Still have the CD ;)
10 times better than any dnb done today. just sick
Wowzers tarantula goes so fricken hard.
Back in the days I have only heard Slam, and mainly recall it for funny video. Now I have discovered the rest of album, and it's great
Goosebumps still 🙂🤟
Best album ever!
You can tell Liam Howlett of the Prodigy has introduced this type of sound into his music.
God damn. I finally found out that the artist name is Pendulum...spent a lot of time listen to random dnb music mixes, Yes! I am a silly consumer...
Used to listen to this on repeat fishing lobsters in Catherby back in 2008. Good times 🥲.
Jesus Christ I'm getting old
Tell me about it man
such a masterpiece, so many memories
pendulum has this weird die hard core fanbase. i'm all for it, fuck. best album of my life.
Made me fall in love with drum and bass
To give you a slightly funny anecdote, about 10 years before this album existed, my friends and I _tried_ to make music like this, using turn tables and mixers. Nothing this incredible. Good times. Great memories. DRUGS lol😅
I think this is a very under-rated album!! one of my favourites and i've listened to a lot.
Under-rated?! this is one of the highest rated and most popular albums of that year and whole decade, don't get it twisted...
It's pretty widely regarded as one of the cornerstones of modern Drum n Bass, even by "hardcore"/underground fans lol. Nobody's underrating it.
I'm so mad that the last two tracks are missing off the spotify version of the album, those are two of my favorites on this album
Which two?
@@barbar6502 I was wrong, only one. another planet is on Spotify, just not on this album on that platform. still grey is the song that I cannot find on spotify in it's original form. you can only find remixes of it and I'm again mad because I really like that song.
Such a good intro
I adore this album with my whole heart
Has to be one of the greatest albums of all time.
The best dnb album imo.
Still an absolute masterpiece
Listening to this, i can't get into modern dnb anymore, everything seems like mindless noise compared to those melodies.
Azta, ez milyen pontos!
This original version is not on Spotify thank you!
Amazing album!!
Timeless killer magical music. Who knew Australians could rock so well.
Tfw RUclips deleted the original upload that had some hundreds of comments. :(
Well... yeah....
So
BBK always supporting this big tunes..
TIMELESS
2024 we still going "into the jungle"
Evergreen❤
Do dzisiaj słuchane tęsknie za takim Pendulum ;/
Superb album. I would kill for a remaster
Why a remaster?
Maybe a re-release would be nicer)
lol. remaster... u fuckin idiot.
@@FoxGhost7 literally one of the most timeless mixed/produced/engineered albums of the past two decades and you want a remaster? you're aware that rob swire is like the dr. fucking dre of dnb right? remaster... LOL
@@BobbyBundlez production is super dated and would be pretty nice just to have it be polished up, sounding richer and fuller. I do understand the production is kind of the style, the grunge and muddiness giving the music a certain charm
An experience.
Outstanding
This album is quite nostalgic for me, being in england, there was a period that ill say was between 03 to 2010 where humanity seemed to of caught a break and most of us were thinking in our heads, most of us felt equal in some way, like, nothing was perfect, but you were not forcefed advertisements or generally felt controlled by society itself, there was some peace, people were getting by, companies were just making better products as tech improves instead of selling you the same junk year on year, all of the drum and bass music and similar, had some place, the enviroment felt modern, abused, but at the same time, had its own freedom as we stare down at the discarded train tickets on the tube, i cant explain it well enough, at most, i could say it was "flat" cyberpunk without the cool tech or dystopia, as currently we live in that sorta world with the dystopia.... and no cool tech.
As for this album, it just encapsulates that odd time where the youth were on the bus because they aint old enough to drive, now... the youth are on the bus because their parents dont drive, and dont even know if they can afford driving lessons to begin with, and dont even think its worth it due to how much you have to deal with on the road, like a constant leach of what could be a glimmer of freedom.
They call this democracy and progress. Same 100% in France. Ugly as hell.
I wanna go back......
Prelude is still one of the BEST beats ever...
Moje. Mara karac bede skan za fobie.
Banger
If you hate this you will realise that you love it.
2022 still amazing
My favourite
Lol made worked for like over 3 million sales volume only with his album
