I never believed there were two Henrys to begin with. I like to think the boiler and smokebox were salvaged from the old engine and became part of the new Black 5 engine. Would explain how Henry remembers stuff pre flying kipper in his new shape.
Exactly. The whole '2 Henrys' thing belongs in online scary stories and nothing more. And like you said, them attaching the boiler and smokebox to a totally new engine would explain the seemingly hard to believe idea of how a bootleg-Pacific came back as a Black 5. It's really not that hard to believe.
If Horace does come to SOS and becomes a permanent cast member, at least make him blue. So that one, people can tell them apart. And two, makes a reference to the short lived livery Henry had in the early RWS books.
I believe this actually. A Black 5 (the design Henry is based from) still runs excursions on Britains rails, and its every bit as majestic as it sounds
@@terrier_productionsThere used to be 472 of those magnificent engines. Now there are 18 of them today, which is actually still impressive considering how common it is on British Railways.
Wasn’t expecting a twin, but props to that. Here’s my question from the last answered video, How do non-faceless vehicles operate their railway guns, with a separate crew or by themselves, and if the latter is the case, how?
I'd like to think there's some kind of mechanical linkage involved, similar to push-pull autotrains (edit): Just thought, you could also make a case that Mickey and other Emergency Service locos have similar systems to control cranes
Like a few others here, I believe that when Henry was being rebuilt at Crewe after his accident, his smoke box was salvaged and attached to a new Black 5 body. This theory would say that the smoke box is like the engine’s brain, and that is how Henry can remember events that happened before his accident, even after he was rebuilt.
Henry and Horace... That reminds me of a white with a number 53 and a black drilling, granate throwing and laser shooting VW beetle somehow 🤣. I love this idea and I hope for Horace to appear in the series (maybe with one of the Features too 😂). All in all, great video.
Also here’s a question for this: Can non-faceless vehicles have things affecting their faces only like getting dry skin, acne, bad breath, teeth cavities, or infections?
What even is the point of saying "non-faceless"? You could just say "faced", or "vehicles with faces". But I guess James getting stung by a bee is an example of that, and some engines have missing teeth (IDK if that counts), but IDK if there are any other examples.
Here’s what I think happened with Henry’s rebuild in the RWS: When he was sent to Crewe a lot of his old shape stuff was taken off him but his smokebox stayed and then a bunch of Black 5 stuff was put on him like the running board taper boiler and firebox with his old tender getting scrapped and replaced by a Stanier tender. As for in the TV Series canon when sent for repairs most of his body stayed the same just his firebox being replaced with a Belpaire firebox a top feed and outside steam exhausts being added with his wheel arches getting removed and didn’t actually get rebuilt into a Black 5, just very similar to one.
But...wasn't Henry a one off hybrid build made from stolen plans who was then rebuilt at crewe before coming to sodor (In SOS canon) So was Horace also a hybrid like Henry or built in the new shape from the beginning?
I think that was answered before, in either Sodor Answers, The 3 4 5 Podcast, or in Stories of Sodor at one point. Non-faceless vehicles are considered twins if they look an sound the same, regardless of when they were built. Peter's twin rolled out of the workshop a week after he did, so a time gap isn't impossible
I hope we’ll get to see old shape Henry in a flashback for Stories of Sodor especially because it has been mentioned when Emily was introduced and she mentioned him staying back and fighting for her also when Henry did have the old shape. I wonder how that will be mentioned tho
Henry's story arc would hardly be as impactful if he was just replaced. Another thing I like is the idea other troubled engines doubting their future, and Henry relating to them, like Character Gallery on 13 or Hector.
Well, I never believed there were two Henry as I don't believe that The Fat Controller and the men at Crewe would scrap one of his engines and got a another engine that had green with red stripes and was also named Henry. Side note: I think Horace's voice should had sounded more like Keith Wickham's Henry's voice from the UK dub.
Y'know with the recent season finale, What if we will have two Thomas? The one built on Sodor, and the one built on the main island with cyan turquoise paint, a younger brother ir the last of the engine model if you will
I'm going to post a couple of questions here but they relate to one overall question. How exactly would a rebuild/conversion work with non-faceless engines? I'm specifically meaning cases such as the Southern's Bullied Pacifics or the Santa Fe's CF7s where major work was done in both cosmetic and physical appearances. What about cases in diesel locomotives where the engine was removed, making them into a cab car such as the Amtrak NPCU?
Hey victor, I have a question. How do the engines get their faces? Do they just appear after the first firing or do they appear when nobody is looking?
My question for sodor answers is: If a non-faceless vehicle has to get a complete overhaul and doesn't survive, can it still be used as a faceless vehicle, or was the whole overhaul for nothing?
Ideas For Sodor Questions & Answers... - "Is dumping a steam locomotives fire the locomotive equivalent of defecting?" - "Is it really important for express locomotives to keep up their reputation, of hauling passenger trains and not freight wagons?" - "If a locomotive is not built for a certain job, is is right to refuse it? However if an express engine shunts their own trains, they could run the risk of derailing on sharp curves and points shunting, and use up fuel they will need on their long trips. If hauling goods that outweigh the passenger trains they are rated to carry they could wear out faster.
My theory is that when Henry was sent away to Crew, they removed the smoke box door from his original build and since the face is on the door, it was easier to put his face on a black 5 and paint him green.
Hey Mr. Tanzig! I know perhaps it's an annoying question, but is there any update on Stories of Sodor or is the series done for the time being? If I've missed an update, anyone feel free to fill me in.
Even if it was true that’s pretty horrible and heartless of STH to promise Henry to be repaired only to be replaced. Especially if the other Henry wasn’t truly Henry.
I do like the idea that engines of the same class have the same faces like donald/douglas, arry/bert, ben/bill the reason 08s have different faces cause their made from different shops with same blue prints.
Engines getting overhauled doesn't change anything about them aside from their physical form. Henry was just simply a Hybrid that worked with Welsh Coal and Sir Topham had Stanier rebuild him into a Black Five.
