Very shallow river passage. We used to be full loaded refers with 0.6m GM on departure. Sometime need to drop anchor near to the entrance (if I remember correctly😊)
Indeed, challenging passage, especially for vessels 300m or more in length and wide beam. This footage was made form a 9600TEU container vessel, 300m long and 48.2m wide. We were lucky to have a very good pilot, same one both ways in and out. The passage inbound was actually more challenging due to numerous narrow bends (plan to post it soon). Dropping the anchor is required for certain drafts if using old fairway (E-W in Northern part) at the mouths of the river. A new channel (NW-SW) is now available regardless the tide for vessel with larger drafts, but only for vessels sailing from DPA Container Terminal in Posorja (understood that the dredging was paid by DPA who owns the Terminal in Posorja).
