About time reality of Zion catches up with the rest. I’ve been saying it since his early days in the league. He’s not going to put in the work for the Pelicans. Saw it clear as day on the day of the lottery, he did not want to go to New Orleans could see it on his face. And with that body type and not being interested in the city you play for I’m not surprised he’s been struggling to stay healthy and in shape. For his height 270-275 should really be his absolute Max weight or his body is gonna continue to fail him. At 6’6 weighing 300+ pounds like he has been is just too much weight and force on his knees and feet. Dude is an NBA player that insists on staying in the body frame of an NFL D-Lineman

@@michaelgallagher518 Markennen can be traded after December 15th. Whether or not the Jazz would make that deal is debatable. It's a league of perception. If Zion is still perceived as being a transformative player, then Utah would make it. I'd like to see it happen because it would be a great move for the Pelicans. It does one of two things for Utah, It either gets Zion motivated to work himself into shape and prove his doubters wrong, or he stays fat and injured and the Jazz tank harder. Either one of those situations put the Jazz in a better place. One in the short term, the other in the long term. To be clear, if I were Danny Ainge, I wouldn't make that trade. I thought that the Pelicans should have cut ties with Zion 2 years ago while his perceived value was higher. But at the same time I don't understand what the Jazz are doing. They are not making the playoffs. They are not bad enough to tank and get a reasonable shot at the lottery. They are in no mans land.
In a way, Zion reminds me of Ronaldo Nazario in football. A young Ronaldo was a phenom. An incredible mix of power, speed, agility and a flair for the spectacular. But, his body could not handle such a combination of power and speed, resulting in his knee literally imploding in 1999. I do feel like a similar story is present with Zion, but with his notorious diet issues, those problems worsen
Zion hasnt achieved anything though and has never even been considered a top 10 player in the league, bit of a stretch to compare his career to arguably the best striker of all time

They honestly could’ve landed a friggin haul but he’s been injured so much they’d be selling low. If he can run off maybe 70 games healthy this year and play in the postseason then I’d gauge team interest to see if I can get an offer u can’t refuse.

At 3:50 That Duke team needed the assistance of the stripes to beat UCF that year. They had the top three players from the freshman class and failed to reach the Final Four. With that much talent, losing in the Elite 8 is a fail.
Zion even if healthy was definitely a little overhyped. We live in 2024 where nba stars need to be multi faceted with abilities to impact the game in multiple ways. The truth is Zion has one superstar skill and the rest of his game is mediocre at best. He’s not a good defender and is a solid rebounder, can’t shoot the ball efficiently and isn’t a prolific enough playmaker to say he’s great in that category either. It’s the same problem Rudy gobert faces, while he’s a great rim protector he’s damn near useless outside of that (in comparison to other centers in the league). A 6’6 non floor spacer who isn’t a great defender or playmaker just isn’t a superstar player in my eyes. Very entertaining but he’s never gonna have actual weight behind it because you aren’t gonna win games with that as your 1st or even 2nd best player imo.
I hate to say it, because I love it. But abolishing the draft could go a long way towards eliminating situations with unhappy talent stuck in places where they don't want to be.
@alexescutia4805 it probably wouldn't work that way, with free agency and the salary cap, any smaller market team could outbid the bigger market. Sure some well off teams would benefit, but others would also be constrained by the cap and their roster construction at any given time.
You tripping 😂 Zion is a straight monster even though he ain’t protecting his body. He ain’t going out like Simmons. He’s the most aggressive player in the NBA. He might but last long but he attacks the rim
As much as we had hoped a FOOTBALL PLAYER BODY could not only play BASKETBALL at a high level, but DOMINATE, the wear and tear jumping high with that much muscle on his bones, tendons, and ligaments take a toll on them!
He will go down as the biggest what if in basketball. That second season which might as well have been his rookie year where he got 27ppg on 61% shooting was outrageous. If he had taken the game seriously off the court and kept his weight down which would then lead to less injuries he might be the best player in the NBA and the face of the league today. It was all put on a plate for him basically from the time he was at Duke. I've never seen so much coverage of a college player from NBA analysts than Zion got. They'd show as many highlights of him as they did Lebron and he wasn't even in the league.
Zion isn't finished bruh.. He's actually in really really good shape to start this season off. Joel embids career started off with many setbacks. After like 4 yrs of him rehabilitating he became that player they were hoping for. Zion still has a lot of potential in front of him. He's still maturing mentally into an adult. Like Derek Rose his body is too athletic and explosive. I'll never forget seeing how intense they treated LBJ's body and knees when he was still in his 20's. Now lookin at him I see how it paid off and I understand why Joel is taking games off during the session. Preserving himself for the future. I'm not saying he's in the rite with the controversy. I just understand his reasoning. Zion needs more help and that's the real issue. Zion needs to tone it down if he wants to be relevant in ten yrs.
He's out indefinitely. Bro is cooked and even if we want to extend to him an olive branch, maybe he comes back soon, his game hasn't evolved. Before going out with his current injury Zion was the most blocked player in the league. Teams are starting to get hip to his game and making adjustments accordingly. The game has caught up to him and by the time he does get back will probably have passed him by.
Thoughts? Could Zion to the Spurs to play with Wemby work? All the strong guards matching Wemby at the moment and pushing him to the perimeter couldn't do that with Zion. And I'd like to see a Wemby Zion pick and roll. I really have no idea if a trade could even happen
He doesn't want it. It's easy for us to say, "if I was as big as a middle linebacker and could run that fast and jump that high I'd be dominating the league right now. But it doesn't work that way. Sometimes God gives tons of talent to hungry dudes that want it. Sometimes that talent gets bestowed on cats that don't have the eye of the tiger.
The moment he got injured at Duke the first thing i thought was he needed to lose weight and strengthen his knees, the dude walked like there were muscle imbalances. It's honestly a shame that him flying high was his major appeal but his curse as well, luckily he's already made live changing money maybe he can work on some fundamentals and develop more as a basketball player and less as a hooper.
I believe in Zion and he's still young and he definitely still has superstar potential just give him some time to put everything together and some players need more time than other players.
I think Zion will have a impressive year. Him and the Pelicans will self destruct. Getting hurt against the Lakers hurt his feelings. He and the Pelicans have under performed their talent level. The inmates are running the prison. They could have flourished with 2 quality vets from the beginning.
Ughhhhh...I love Zion, but since that game in play in tournament he's been looking overrated, I think because of his injuries it's hampered his game, lost some of his speed explosion. I think he still has to redefine his game more shooting, posting up. We'll see I still got faith in him Great episode!!!
Let's b honest what is Zion other than a power dunker w/hops😐!! Not a standout dominate post player like Olajuwon or a consistent perimeter or 3 pt shooter, just a highlight reel.....just saying 😐🤔!!
He has dominant stretches but superstar status you need to have dominant seasons and you can’t trust him to do that with his weight and injury history.
Realistically at this point he’s better off as 2nd option he just keeps getting injured constantly not being able to help his team get over that hump unless he really takes some time over the summer and works on his jumper to make up for that lost production on the offensive end then maybe he can be the 1st option again but time will tell 🤷♂️
His body was never going to allow for a long term, highly dominant career. He was like Shaun Kemp: Big, talented, athletic, and bound to break down because of his excessive weight.
i gave up on him like 4 years ago ngl. doesn't have the passion for the game needed to overcome his injury issues and keep himself in shape and healthy, while still having all of the entitlement and ego of a guy who has never missed a single game in his career

Zion's frame is uneven. He's almost too muscular for his own good. He has the frame of Shaq but Shaq didn't have to rely on his athleticism so much because he was way taller. Zion could be a Charles Barkley caliber player if he wants it bad enough, which is questionable.
Zion needs to develop his jumper in order to take some pressure off of his body. That’s the only way he’ll have longevity in the league. He needs a change of scenery like to the bucks and replace Giannis or the heat to replace jimmy butler.
Where things went wrong? He signed that rookie contract and never stopped eating. He hasn't been in shape for a single season in the NBA. He stopped working hard. What else is there to say? Charles Barkley finally got into super star shape by the time he got to The Suns, but this guy here is a lazy, embarrassing son of a gun. He's already won in life. He's achieved generational wealth and he still has the rest of his life to learn from his many, many mistakes. Pelicans...you were screwed.
Lol I knew his career was gonna be like this. I Always have said Ja Morant was and is the better player. Zion doesnt have a bag. He is just literally a short massive quicc rim runner . Even Ja's defense is better😂
Zion is just too talented lol. That’s the problem. What do you do with somebody that’s so athletic? He’s the most aggressive rim attacker on the floor. Straight monster
We know Zions history but stick to the point. Half the content was a history lesson to Segway into the more history. Filler content. Didn’t speak about his current skill level which is what matters and why he may be overrated.
He came into this season lighter than his Duke weight and the pelicans are without Murray, Mccollum, Murphy and Jones right now. Seems like a tiny bit of an overreaction lad.
Like everything else. Kids just start everything earlier. Kids put so much torque and pressure on their ligaments and joints and more are just now injury prone 😂 I laugh because it's all for the gram. The pimp of the generation. Do it for the gram!

Same issue with Embiid.. too big, too fast and agile, on his body playing 82 games per year.
As a Grizzlies fan, I'm so glad we had the number 2 pick that year....
Zion hate is so questionable and weird to me
I know
Ignoring obvious flaws that he's had for years and calling anybody who points them out a hater is so questionable and weird to me
@ they were just calling him fat. Nothing else no criticism just insults
His weight is an injury issue and other big men have told him thay he needs to look after that for his own health
has he not been fat for the majority of his career? @@GStar781
It’s officially time to give up on Bronny, it was a mistake drafting him in the first place
Thoughts? Could Zion to the Spurs to play with Wemby work? All the strong guards matching Wemby at the moment and pushing him to the perimeter couldn't do that with Zion. And I'd like to see a Wemby Zion pick and roll. I really have no idea if a trade could even happen
Aaaaaannndddddd , he went tf off tonight 💀😂
what you saying now?
Recent Update on Zion today:
He is out for the rest of the season due to Hamstring Strain. Prayers for him.
He's just getting warmed up.
Hoops reference apology video in the near future .
Zion still has some value left so they should trade him while he still has it
I believe in Zion and he's still young and he definitely still has superstar potential just give him some time to put everything together and some players need more time than other players.
34 and 10 says otherwise
What does "out indefinitely" say?
Go green baby 😊
Hype for pre-draft Zion was crazy but I don't think anyone thought he would an all time great
I think Zion will have a impressive year.
We'll see I still got faith in him
Great episode!!!
Fun fact ja morant was suppose to be the number 1 pick with what we know now
Let's b honest what is Zion other than a power dunker w/hops😐!! Not a standout dominate post player like Olajuwon or a consistent perimeter or 3 pt shooter, just a highlight reel.....just saying 😐🤔!!
He can still be great!!! I will not give up!!! I CANT 😢
Zion is exactly what we expected. For an undersized big he became an NBA all star. He is exactly what we predicted.
BRO I LOVE THE CHANNEL BUT NEVER COME ON SCREEN AGAIN
He's still good at 24. Pels lose because of bad defense and coaching. Don't expect much with that roster as well.
He has dominant stretches but superstar status you need to have dominant seasons and you can’t trust him to do that with his weight and injury history.
Now why dont you make a vid about Alvarado out with same injury as Zion in your professional opinion.
I never saw this guy face lol😂
Chasing those XXX Stars are the real reason for his pull hamstring injury.
He did noticeably slim down this season, and it’s only a 2 week sample size, ppl are so fast write off stars nowadays
Like 5 games in calm down
like 5 seasons lol
He wasn't draft this year tho....
Bro I stopped caring when he stopped caring. I just hope he take care of his money and enjoys the food and baddies .
His body was never going to allow for a long term, highly dominant career. He was like Shaun Kemp: Big, talented, athletic, and bound to break down because of his excessive weight.
I had sooo sooo soo much hope but after seeing him get injured again i can accept it i dont think he'll fulfill his potential in the leauge 😢
i gave up on him like 4 years ago ngl. doesn't have the passion for the game needed to overcome his injury issues and keep himself in shape and healthy, while still having all of the entitlement and ego of a guy who has never missed a single game in his career
It looks like he'll never be a consistent force. It's too bad. He is special when he's able to play.
Don't give up on Jordan Poole.
really?.. a few games in to the season? premature much?
Duke couldn't make it to the FF with Zion, RJ Barrett and Cam Redish
Proceeds to drop 30, 6, 10
And get knocked out indefinitely with a hamstring injury.
IF B FUNNY HOW GUYS WHO CANT PLAY OR DONT PLAY OR PLAY BUT IS HELLA TRASH TALK ABOUT PROS THEY CANT DO NUFFN WITH I UNDERSTAND ERRYBODY DONT MAKE THE LEAGUE & CAN REALLY BALL THATS DIFFERENT BUT GUYS WHO TRASH ALWAYS KNO MORE THEN A PERSON WHO REALLY PLAY I WENT #1 WELL I WOULD'VE WENT #1 BUT I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE GETT'N RICH I WAS GOOD WORKN AT BK I WAS #1 THERE 4 SURE ASK ABOUT ME BUT ANYWAY GUYZ GOTTA WATCH WHAT THEY SAY OUT LOUD SHIT B KRAZY
What?
As soon as you made this video, now Zion wanna start hooping smh
Zion is the Trevor Lawrence of the NBA
Zion's frame is uneven. He's almost too muscular for his own good. He has the frame of Shaq but Shaq didn't have to rely on his athleticism so much because he was way taller. Zion could be a Charles Barkley caliber player if he wants it bad enough, which is questionable.
I agree lol. He’s so athletic and big it might actually be a problem. He should have played football so he can keep his feet on the ground lol
It is time indeed 😅
Zion needs to develop his jumper in order to take some pressure off of his body. That’s the only way he’ll have longevity in the league. He needs a change of scenery like to the bucks and replace Giannis or the heat to replace jimmy butler.
Im early
me too
I’m always early and my girl hates it
His ceiling has not changed, however, it's questionable if he will ever reach it.
Zion is going to shock the world.
I never bought into the “next Lebron” hype. I thought he was more of a better Robert Traylor
Blake Griffin.
He got his money, he doesn't care.
We know Zions history but stick to the point. Half the content was a history lesson to Segway into the more history. Filler content. Didn’t speak about his current skill level which is what matters and why he may be overrated.
He needs to develop a post game
I forget his was still playin 😂 i never seen him play only pre season one time
L video i seen this after watching his 34 10 highlight same day
How's that "out indefinitely" looking?
Seems like he will never grow up out of Zion Penguinson. Its on him...
Too big and powerful for his joints and connective tissue. Needs to develop a midrange and even 3 point game as well as assists.
When you have yes people all around you you’ll never reach your full potential. Constantly out of shape, doesn’t update his game and isn’t focused on being great off court issues
Who's here after the hamstring injury smh
ZION is the BEST. Only reason you made this vid became he is greatness already or no one would care about your opinion.
