My old Z5 compact died 6 months ago after a long happy life. I didn't have a choice but to buy another phone, so I found and I bought a refurbished Samsung S20 for a good price, 200 euros. Nice beautiful phone, but too big compared with the perfect pocket size of the z5 compact, and with a pitiful battery duration due to all those unnecessary apps and gadgets that no one really needs. I had some problems with that Samsung since day one and I sent it to repair almost immediately after buying. However, I still needed a phone in the meantime, so I looked for an old used smartphone, and I found a brand new sony xperia z5 compact exactly as my old one, for 70 euros. The previous owner didn't almost use it, so it was in a perfect state, just as if it was new. I bought it and I am a happy Z5 compact owner again ! This phone is just perfect for my needs, is a beauty, a design marvel. Except for some apps that don't work with its old Android 7.1.1, and that I don't really need, everything works nice. I received a new Samsung to replace the other one, and it waits there for a sporadic use when I need some specific apps, or a secondary sim card, or just to take photographs when traveling. However, for a daily use, I stick with the Z5.

And cheaper than Walkman. At least here in my country, it's so expensive. Does it really worth? I saw it can run CoD Mobile better than my actual phone lol
I'm planning to use as a ''Dumb Phone'', like the Light Phone. Callendar, Clock, Music, Podcast, Notes and the necessary

this was my phone since its release until 2019 when it gave up on me. and it was probably their peak compact phone release, which tbh, is the best out there that got me through outdoor photoshoots, music festivals, hiking and outings, and intimate dinners. I was using it to its very limit. so it wasn't a shock when it really gave up on me after quite some time. I am now looking into buying another one of this just for my music listening. I am now using Xperia 5 series phone, but no matter how they say this is their compact line now, nothing beats the entire experience I had with this phone. Thanks for this video!

The Z5 phones are great, I have had the standard sized one since 2016 and it still works today, it's battery isn't as good as it was but being able to hold a charge for 3-4 days (unless heavily used) isn't bad at all for a 8 year old phone.

Out of all the manufacturers, I like sony software because it reminds me of the playstation interface running android. I prefer sony apps and I missed sony apps like the sony video player app and sony photo gallery app. The only sony multimedia apps that are still available and supported are the walkman and playstation app. I use the sony xperia 1 iv but I wish my sony phone still had the sony own video player and sony photo gallery apps. I even tried sideloading the only the sony apps such as the video player and photo gallery but they are barely functional even though they downloaded and installed successfully. I still have my sony xperia z5 premium, the very first sony android phone with a 4k display. However, my sony xperia 1 iv already have burn in issues due to the oled display and other devices that I use with an oled display already have burn in issues as well. I wish sony made and sold 2 display versions with the same exact specs. 1 version with oled and 1 version with mini led. Sony xperia iv with 4k oled and 4k with mini led. When the sony xperia xz premium came out, I bought it but after awhile I sold it. I went back to buying and using the samsung note 9 because it was the last samsung note phone with a headphone jack. I sold the note 9 because I wanted a 5g phone with a headphone jack and the last series of phones with the headphone jack was the s10 but I had the s10 5g. I sold the s10 5g because I could not get 5g to work, the battery kept on draining very fast, it was becoming too slow and sluggish. The s10 5g screen would automatically dim itself even though I had auto dim turned off and autobrightness turned off, I even had power savings mode turned off as well. I even tried the 1st gen 2020 moto edge 5g with it's curve display but could not get 5g with the carrier that I use. I updated the software on the moto edge and the battery was draining faster before I performed any software updates. I gave my friend the moto edge and I upgraded to the pixel 4a 5g because I wanted a pixel phone with 5g and a headphone jack. I still have my pixel 4a 5g and I get full 5g and a headphone jack but it also has burn in issues. The display has gotten dimmer over time on my pixel 4a 5g and the battery just needs to be replaced since it drains very fast but the standby is still last for awhile even with the battery drain issues. I ended up buying a battery case for my pixel 4a 5g. The pixel 4a 5g is my last pixel device plus its the last pixel device that's supports unlimited google photo cloud storage even though it compresses the phone quality. I even got the z fold 4 to see if I can use the phone as a tablet and to see what it was like as phone as well, but there is a black line in the middle of the inner display when the phone slipped out of my hands and fell on the floor with the fold unfolded while I was using the inner display. The z fold 4 touch screen display stopped working so I put the sim card from the z fold 4 back into my pixel 4a 5g. I break ufix told me that it will cost $547.99 to fix and replace the z fold 4 inner display. When the sony xperia 1 iii came out, I bought it, but the sony xperia 1 iii 5g only works with tmobile and verizon and I don't use neither of there service. I still have the sony xperia 1 iii, but I upgraded to the sony xperia 1 iv because I wanted 5g, a brighter display and more storage. The sony xperia 1 iv is 50% brighter the sony xperia 1 iii, the sony xperia 1 iii only has 256gb of storage, the sony xperia 1 iv has 512gb of storage and I get full 5g support with the sony xperia 1 iv. I don't know why sony did not release the 512gb version for the sony xperia 1 v for the north american model but 512gb version for the japanese model and other countries. The price only went from $1,600 on the xperia 1 iv down to $1,400 on the xperia 1 v. The only upgrades were the camera and an improved processor with half the storage compared to its predecessor.

I still have a Z5, the regular one. I also have a Z2 and Z3+. The Z3+ is the worst phone I've ever had! It gets really hot, sometimes it would burn my fingers. I enjoyed the Z5, but the camera was not that great. At the time, Sony had the best design in the android community, that's why I sticked to it, but Sony phones started to lack innovation and Samsung was starting to make pretty phones, like the Galaxy S6 and S7, I then gave my Z5 up in favor of a S7. Nowadays I use a S23 Ultra, and I just LOVE it. It's a shame that Sony got lost in the game.

💥💥 0:20 i disagree with that comment. People complain about cellphone companies not making a smaller phone that has flagship spec and features when literally the the regular Samsung S23 and regular S22 and S21 exist.
The regular Samsung S23 is 6'1 inches pretty much the same specs as the S23 Plus and ultra.
The regular S24 is going to have the same specs as the S24 plus and S24 ultra.
Even phones like the OnePlus 9 5G that are like 6.4 inches that's like the sweet spot that's not too big and it's not too small and it's really compact in your hand.
You got the pixel 7a 6.1 inch display 8GB of RAM great camera. Pixel 6a was only 6'1 inches.
The new regular pixel 8 is only 6'2 inches. Iphone 13 is only 6'1 display. The new regular iphone 15 is only 6'1 display.
Apple even came out with the iPhone SE in 2022. 4.7 inches but hardly anybody brought it. Same thing with the iphone 13 mini that was 5'4 inches not that many people brought that phone.
LG on their last legs they came out with the LG G8 that was 6.1 inch display that had flagship specs. Nobody was buying that phone instead people was buying the bigger LG V series of phones with the 6'8 displays.
I disagree with companies not coming out with smaller phones. I just name a bunch of small phones that companies have came out with but a lot of the time people don't buy them.
So it sounds like to me people don't really want small phones 🤷🏿‍♂️
