Every once in a while I find a song that hits me like a freight train and reminds me how great music is and how lucky I am to be living in an age where musical geniuses like dan are living. This version of this song is especially good
Dan Auerbach is the special case of being this pretty uniquely talented, underrated but still famous musician. I love almost all his music, all the bands, all the solo work.
Like always, I had preconceived notions of what his new albums should sound like & therefore never liked them til months went by I'd give it a listen & really appreciate it, now can't stop listening to it, like always.
This song perfectly sums up how I feel about going back home for the holidays, a remote island where just a few people live. I get strangely depressed everytime I go home. Feeling like you're back at square one, even though you left the place years ago.
Returning to the island after the passing of father, the king, was a dreary voyage. As the heir, your were tasked with handling father's affairs, the longest standing of which was with the lone horse of the province. An audit showed the account was in arrears.
Thanks Dan such as life or actually my life except the high part well food and entertainment high...ahhhh sweet oblivion. Express myself to a world of strangers...flippn Duane Eddy too!
Not dan, I know who that is lol. I'm saying one of the backing guitarists (seen behind that old guy in 2:04) looks like nick bockrath; who plays guitar for CTE
I'm happy about being alive in this era and witnessing this.
I like how he's playing with older guys, it's different.
I like water Yeah, feels more authentic in a way.
How they do it in Nashville
