If anyone is wondering if there was an error in math by the teacher, in short he didn't distribute his negative. Distribute your negative and you'll get your correct answer.
evn my algebra book has incorrect answers printed in the answer key? its sooo frustrating to work the same problem again and again only to discover the answer ur trying to get is actually wrong! i wonder if it undermines the position of power in this country if the majority of the population gets a good education instead of a small elite :(
1:56 here the 12 will be negative 12 according to the multiplication property { (-) x (+) = (-) } so the -4/5 is negative and the 15 is positive and we are multiplying it . so answer will be -12. and the final answer will be 5.
@@alexkennedytv7323 Division also works here because the fraction is really just a number multiplied by the X, so u can apply the inverse operation here
Love your vids but you talk/explain too fast sometimes. At least for me personally. I'm trying to relearn all this to help my kiddos it's been way longer than I'd like to admit😏I'm sure your students can follow along but perhaps not all can? Just a thought anyway thanks for content.

final answer is -5 not 5. try replacing these number in the place of 'x' in the question .

When you multiply the 4/5 by x & 15, isn't it a -4/5? -4/5x - 12? Thanks
And at the end he multiplied by 4/5 instead of dividing 4/5
Because the dash in between 4/5 means to divide so therefore you need to do the opposite which is multiply ! 🙂

12 - 8 = 4, so 4/5(x+15) has to be 8, so if x = -5 one gets (-5 + 15) = 10 x 4/5 = 8
x has to be -5, not 25????

supposed to use the negative which then ends up with 12 cancelled out.
