Agreed, having more mechs sounds great. I'm really into building futuristic vehicles as smaller side projects, my latest was a mech. It is much more affordable and quicker to design on a vehicle scale than on a larger Moc diorama. I truly love building castles and creating landscape, but having a project that you can finish in one or two evenings is also great.
If lego starts running this back, we can see a whole resurgence of Mechs also in the fan community, which would be awesome too.

this is a bit of a stretch, but I think this wave is a reference to the second biggest city in Denmark, Aarhus. We have tourist busses going around that look pretty much identical to the set, we also have a harbor with very similar architecture and cargo cranes like that, with street lamps adorned with ads in the exact same way, and one of the most common ads you'll see is also for a street race(funnily enough there is a beach to the side of the harbor like in the set too). Exo-Force is a CLASSIC Lego example of doing the wrong theme, at the wrong time. Anime is more popular and mainstream now than it's ever been, but in 2006 it was still considered niche, odd, or socially "off" if you were into it. @pinobluevogel6458 Месяц назад +3

The cockpit looks a bit off. I've never been a fan of cockpits where the pilot is 'standing' inside it, it makes much more sense that a pilot sits in a comfortable chair, strapped in to counter all the G-forces that flying mechs will pull. Even for mechs that walk and do not fly this makes much more sense.

I find it so trippy that last week I got a pre-owned Silent Hunter that I won at an auction, and was my first Lego Exo-Force set ever since my 2 Ha-Ya-To’s River Hunter when it was still a thing (yeah I actually got the same set twice on my birthday at the time), and I just now discovered here that Lego is doing a similar thing to other sets where they seem to combine their older themes into other themes, or even add small Easter eggs like some Ninjago and other themes feature Bionicle references.
This particular idea is actually really interesting since it makes it feel like Exo-Force was an actual manga series in the Lego City universe, and the original Exo-Force theme was the way for us to see what everyone read in the manga series.
I do hope we see more Exo-Force stuff, like maybe an extension to the Robot World with either the Exo-Force teams, or the robots featured. 👀

It's great to see how the Lego City theme is evolving. When I was younger, my mom and her side of the family would only get me City sets and I used to feel like they needed support and some creativity from other themes like Creator and even Sports to actually stand on their own legs. Nowadays sets however are feeling much more cohesive and building a whole lively town which is more than police - firemen - construction.
That said, as lego fans, we need our version of "Naxx out" for Bionicle or Exo-Force at this point until the themes make a full come back. Look at how lego Castle is slowly creeping in from time to time (even if, as of right now, mostly on big sets and not full waves) lol

Was waiting for this!! It’s still mind blowing to me that we got a whole remake of an Exo-Force set (in a City set no less) for essentially no reason 😂 I absolutely LOVE it tho. And at 3:25 you’re not alone, I would’ve loved to see more stickers too 🤭

I’d really like them to reboot the theme. The modern mecha sets are really cool, and this time they could do fully enclosed cockpits and add heads to all the machines, go for gold with a lot of Gundam and other mecha references

Exo-Force mechs with modern pieces would be incredible

  • @mrhumbuck_

I'm shocked at this! It's really great they made this, I don't like it quite as much as the original but it's still really cool! I'd buy it if it was sold on its own, but I don't have much space for Lego, and for me I doubt it'd be worth paying for the entire build even though it is cool. I also love that the other sets reference it too!

  • @KOMISSARIAT

EXO-Force was the last time we ever got mechs and brick-built figures with actual full articulation in the elbows/knees, and all we got was clunky and stiff mechs ever since.
I saw those old ratchet joint pieces in a new astronaut brick-built figure, so why in the goddamn do we have those crappy fake-joint pieces here?! It's as if lego designers are evolving, but backwards.

With how popular Mechas have become they should return Exo-Force as a product line. It was one of my favs as a kid and to this day if i buy legos its often the mechas.

I can't wait to see people remaking all the old sets with the style of this stealth hunter like what people did with gwp Tahu

  • @nickvang7
    @nickvang7 Месяц назад

This is so much better than a $150 GWP only available for like a week or two! It's probably not gonna take long for someone to make instructions that turn the rest of the set into a mech bay or something

Reminds me of when the makers of Ninjago literally took 2 Ultra Agents characters and placed them in the show in Season 4: Tournament of Elements as side-characters
Speaking of which, they made a big comeback in the new Dragons Rising sets with new designs and prints. They will also most likely be in Dragons Rising Season 2 Part 2 according to new screenshots from imdb

LEGO, LEGO pls, bring back Exo-Force for 1 wave. That's all I ask. You already have an audience of older fans that want it, and a new audience with Ninjago fans to embrace it. It's free money sitting on the table.

Seriously with the popularity of Anime these days. IDK why Lego doesn’t go back to that theme.

Wanted to let you know that I enjoy and appreciate that you do content on sets and themes that you personally buy and not just on the ones you got from LAN. 95% or more that's the only content they post. And I know that I would love anything that I personally received for free so their opinions on sets are meaningless to me and a lot of others. Keep up the good work!!

  • @TheSandwhichman108

I kind of like how the mech suit look’s a bit watered down compared to the original since it’s meant to be a statue as part of an amusement park ride.
Basically the cheesy but cool looking thing visitors can snap a few photo’s with and look back on.

I do think the more lanky almost skeletal limbs and proportions of og Exo Force is one of the things that give the line such an iconic look, but this remake does a good job of keeping enough of that original feel while updating it to modern standards
